But can those really be considered a sub-faction? They hardly seem in a position where they could make any meaningful impact on events.
And there is the possibility that the Ynnari are "Chaos Eldar" without knowing it.

Yeah, one of the reasons I am very glad it was Biel-Tan is because the thing they as famous for is Aspect Warriors which have the least ties to their Craftworld.
It would have been much more difficult to "export" the Black Gaurdians of Ulthwe, the Wildriders of Saim-Hann, or the Wraithhosts of Iyanden for example
It is much easier for surviving Aspect Warriors to pick up and move to a different Craftworld. or even better, become mercenaries for any Eldar sub-faction. It makes DE taking an Aspect Host make more sense. They are just Biel-Tan refugees working with a Raiding party.

I also like the Rune thing that RFHolloway brought up about Biel-Tan's rune meaning "Rebirth of Ancient Days". Biel-Tan has always been about reclaiming the Aeldari birth-right.

Precisely I love the idea of a sort of Biel Tan diaspora, with some setting up shop on other craftworlds, some finding their way to Commorragh, some making planetfall on exodite worlds and some plying the void like Corsairs

Sort of yeah. Never been any official models, or any talk of them other than myths and fairy tales since maybe 2nd ed? The most we've got is a 'some say there are even Eldar still living upon the Crone Worlds in the eye', but no actual evidence of them actually existing.

Enough to plant the seed for mine though, but far from an official 'yeah these are things' beyond the ghostly apparitions we see in the Path novels.

Altansar (spelling?) Eldar might be Chaos Eldar, but my guess would be that they are going to convert to Ynnari. mYabe their time in the Eye corrupted them a bit and now that Ynnead is being reborn, maybe they seek to be reborn anew.
Could be why they seem to be helping Eldrad.

Here's a question. If the events of Fracture of Biel Tan occur at the same time as Fall of Cadia, and don't necessarily involve the same antagonists, is there any reason why we couldn't have a Tyranid/Ork/Tau Gathering Storm book?

Hard to tie them into the whole 'Chaos attacks the Imperium' narrative, but if the intention is to tell the story of sh*t going down across the galaxy then there's no reason they couldn't do that...

I tought that was the general idea behind the gathering storm books at 1st.

Chaos advancement, Eldar doom coming to an end, Tyranids hive fleets making the final approach, necrons fully awakening on the millions.

Heck i can see the 3rd book be set somewhere near the Tau space with they getting caught beetwen the massive true hive fleet and the Necrons with the silent King going to stop the tyranid horde.

With Orks they've been building it up in their Codex and the Ghazgkull-book. There are increased Waaaghs all over the galaxy and it seems that Ghazgkull is about to unite them all. He will play a role in this.

Not sure about tyranids but then I'm not that familiar with them...

Minor quibble, it was less relating to the Gathering Storm campaign and more to this year. This year is the 30th anniversary of 40k so we'll see what happens?

It would be about fething time. At this point I'd take a rerelease of the original over the nothing I have now lol. It is the equivalent of the ultra marines not having a Calgar model, its beyond stupid.

God I hope so! Hopefully they'll keep elements of it true to the old model, such as the Incubi with the trenchcoats on

Hell yeah, I hope he has an optional Dais again, if Logan Claus can get a chariot out of thin air, they can give Vect one.

Shouldn't it say conclusion? I thought the author of Gathering Storm said it was a trilogy or to some sorts like that. Is this White Dwarf getting things wrong again, did GW change their minds, or am I missing something?

Also at first glance, I thought it said, Unsubscribe White Dwarf.

Mad Doc Grotsnik wrote:Biel Tan is fractured - not destroyed.

Spoiler:
Essentially, their spirit stone thing cracks, releasing the souls it held, which is the catalyst for Ynnead to coalesce into consciousness.

Following that, the Craftworld ceases to be - the various and sundry ships is was always comprised of (think organised space hulk) become independent vessels once more.

So Biel Tan as a Craftworld seems gone from what we know, but Biel Tan as a culture very much survives

I thought the entire Eldar race had to die for the god to be born. When did it change that only a handful had to die for the god to be born? I am not familiar with the fluff at all. Can someone please explain.
