Here’s a little secret: we know that Warhammer characters are fictional, and we’re not losing sleep worrying about what Leman Russ or the other miniatures are “wearing”.

Called it. It was just so OBVIOUS.

Always love that things like this get their attention and focus, while things like wider and wider distribution of halal meat go without challenge.

Always easier to pick on the soft, inconsequential target that can't fight back.

Always love how people who totally aren't xenophobes think halal meat is the worst animal abuse issue and the only one they care about. I genuinely support animal defense groups that do include this in their fights, and I genuinely despise people that pretends to care about animals well-being when speaking of halal meat and yet gorge themselves on foie gras. But I trust you ain't one of those people.

Absolutely not, and thanks for not automatically thinking the worst of me!

Halal is just one of many examples of horrendous animal cruelty in the meat processing industry.

It was fun. I'm still saddened by all the geeks that went full “PETA is attacking 40k” or “PETA is offended by fur on miniatures” when the reality is simply “PETA is trying to use yet another bait to make you read their usual IRL defense on why fur is bad (and doesn't actually give a damn about fur in miniatures or GW)”, though. Please stop being so thin-skinned and get able to understand things :(.

It tickles me every time someone posts in this thread to point out how other people are being sooo stupid and giving PETA the free advertising that they want.

I am glad it bounces back up. I learned how horrible PETA actually is now. I herd before they were not good but the links provided was pretty shocking and the more know this the better. So it's not free advertising for PETA but how actually how horrible and hypocrites they actually are.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

I'm indifferent to the popularity of this thread, I'm not sure you understood my point. I'm bemoaning those people not agreeing with them, wasn't that clear?

He's just saying, is all. Fewer people would know of PETA's doings if they didn't get publicity.

I'm sooo, sooo sorry.

I guess it's one of those 'tone of discussion' things...

Challenging Halal butchery methods would involve crossing Islam, so nothing is done and PETA are not alone in this. Governments do nothing either, even when livestock handling laws are otherwise very strictly applied.
Anyone who wants to attempt to reform halal, or otherwise challenge Islam, for any motive, will unleash an epic gak storm. The same is also true for Kosher, for broadly similar reasons, though the comeback takes a different form from that from the Moslem community.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

Since this thread was two and a half weeks old before that post and had really run its course, I think we can safely lock it up...
