There's some nonsense here, but I have to admit this was pretty great:

Thank you.
It's a stock letter set up that I use for roleplay, tournament certificates or dumb stuff to send to friends.
Just run it through onto some certificate paper and hit it with stamps.

Oli: Can I be an orc?
Everyone: No.

PETA doesn't care about the facts, only the perception of them. They were a big part in the Ringling Brothers circus going under (last show this coming May, I believe) due to their outcry of animal mistreatment. They sued the circus every year, so even though their claims were unsubstantiated and they were forced to pay reparations each time for defamation, they essentially won anyway because enough people believed their claims.

On a side note, shouldn't they then support evil characters wearing fur so it shows the depth of their callous natures?

Certainly made me laugh!

A PETA spokesman said: “Living in the grim darkness of a far future where there is only war is no excuse for making poor moral choices.”

Does this make any sense? Does anyone think that a character in a fantasy game is going to get someone to buy real fur?

I guess they are starving for publicity and donation money.

That's usually when you hear about the PETA shills stirring up a fuss somewhere.

Don't worry PETA, no animals were harmed in the making of "faux fur" which is not an animal product. In the grim far future they only use synthetic fibers designed to resemble fur. It does not encourage the breeding of animals to make real fur.

The only difference in the future is that their "fake fur" actually insulates and allows the skin to breath, unlike our current version of faux fur.

They are welcome to dispute those claims... as soon as they identify what creature they came from as well as provide a live specimen as proof. ^_^

I'm just waiting for them to burn santa for wearing a fur-trimmed coat.

The man probably dyes his coats red with the leftover blood.

No, but PETA is... Seriously though, it's another desperate bid for attention since the internet has robbed them of any credibility (see http://www.huffingtonpost.com/nathan-j-winograd/peta-kills-puppies-kittens_b_2979220.html), if you ignore them, they will go away.

Great take down of how tone deaf this call for action is on PETA's part in regards to the wider violence and horror portrayed in 40k.

I love this paragraph in particular, though:

Peta isn’t trying to be difficult here. It even says as much: “While we appreciate that these are fictional characters,” the letter ends, “draping them in what looks to be a replica of a dead animal sends the message that wearing fur is acceptable.” It’s not entirely clear what other, more positive, messages Peta is getting from the wider Warhammer universe, though.

As I sit here assembling my Iron Fang Pikemen for my Khador army, I am sadly disappointed in their life decisions to have fur on their cloaks to help them keep warm in the frozen north of the Khadoran Empire. How dare they try to survive the cold weather to slay their enemies...

That's it, I can never field them now because of how much they have angered my soul at the sculpted pewter fur hahaha.

Holy crap though, imagine if PETA ever gets a glance at the Warjack Ruin. Their hippie heads would explode.

PETA saying something dumb? Why do I feel like this has happened before...? before... before...

~fade out.~

~the soothing sounds of snoop dog's "drop it like it's hot" fade in~

~cell phones still flip~

~facebook has yet to be~

The Web was just going 2.0, and some enterprising idiots decide a holocaust themed AR campaign is exactly what Germany needed.

The last image dates it in 2005 but I did not mistype earlier. This campaign ran for quite a while.

It pisses everyone off, the "if ya really think about it crowd" gets turned off by all the anger, and PETA gets a couple of bucks and more volunteers for having their heart in the right place. Not too unlike how Trump pulled out his win.

Anyway, not to dwell. I'm pretty sure Germany forgave PETA after their next ad campaign.

Not for the faint of heart:
Spoiler:

They... uhhh... Make some excellent points. Ya know?

I should go volunteer.
