Subject: Re:The Gathering Storm Part III: Rise of the Primarch
I think it must be fair to say that the sword on Cypher's back is definitely the Lion Sword. The second image is the cover of Angels of Caliban and is the most recent official depiction of Lion.
The crossguard and pommel are clearly exactly the same.
"The detail on this model is incredible, from the archeotech-plasma pistol to the massive primarch-sized sword on his back – he is every inch the fallen hero of old Caliban."
"Cypher carries a long sword across his back that is far too big for even an Astartes’ hands. It is rumoured that the sword is the fabled Lion Sword that once belonged to the Dark Angels Primarch Lion El’Jonson. "
Fang, son of Great Fang, the traitor we seek, The laws of the brethren say this: That only the king sees the crown of the gods, And he, the usurper, must die.

Also of particular interest is that in that same book, Angels of Caliban, which is the most recent HH book featuring Lion, Roboute seizes and breaks the Lion Sword.

Natfka on Faeit 212 - Total rumors: (420 TRUE) / (858 FALSE) / (78 PARTIALLY TRUE/VAGUE) - Updated 1/10/2017
That's barely a 30% accuracy rate, without accounting for how many of that 420 were self evident, easily predicted or simple luck.
This has always bothered me. Isn't Natfka just an aggregator, reporting everything that comes out regardless of how wafer thin it might be? Seems somewhat unfair to call someone on their reliability when they're not trying to be reliable but rather just a font of all information, no matter how tenuous.
In other words, isn't Natfka less a case of "Here's what's happening next!!!" and more a case of "Here's what we heard what's happening next, do with it what you will.".
Taco Bell on the other hand get their rep from posting "fresh" rumours about 1-2 weeks after everyone else.
Natfka's rating does not include posts where they are merely reposting something from another site (i.e. 'Pretre on dakka posted the following...'). It only includes posts where they are the source of the rumor (i.e. 'Anonymous source says this...')

Anonymous or not, it is still a site that just collects rumours and lays them out for people to read. Just exactly like how the News and Rumours forum works on Dakka. I find it funny and ironic you keep slighting him but you basically do the same thing he does. You both compile and collect data.

And there's no guarantee that anything posted as "Anonymous" was actually submitted. Most of the "Anonymous" stuff he posts is rehashed rumors from reliable posters/avenues of rumors, but with a bit of extra crap drizzled on top.
I guess it's time for this thread to be locked. After all this is why I didn't want to name where I read my source. I knew it would derail the thread.
I don't feel I have to defend myself where I or anyone else chooses to read. Just because people go else where besides dakka doesn't mean they are stupid or what not.
Now please enough with the Naftfka posts. I felt I needed to defend myself where I read it, but enough. We can read where we choose and not be belittled over it.

Sources be damned, you posted dumb gak and got called on it, then it transpires that the dumb gak you posted came from the very fountain of dumb gak for wargaming news.
The solution is not to post dumb gak in the first place, not try and act like a moderator when it blows up in your face (and, for future reference, don't publicly call for a thread to be locked, use the yellow triangle, it makes a user look less like a wannabe try hard mod.)

Actually, no.
If you choose to accept information from a less than certifiable source, then you also must accept that there is a chance you can be mocked for that.
It's your responsibility as a memeber of society to be correctly informed if you want to socialize with other people, networks, groups, etc.
If I were to say that I honestly believe the onion is a reputable news source and defend their articles as truth, then naturally I would open myself up to the worst of comments.
Food for thought.
Edit: point in case; Azrael.

I never said it was fact or gospel. I just releated to what I read that day.
*edit*
As for being gak? Why? Someone asked a question. I answered it from what I read. So what is wrong with that? So has dakka become the "if you don't agree with my opinion you are wrong"? I find it funny I am being called out and I post gak when the same people do the same.

It depends, though, on the quality of the cloack and hat too. A man with big pauldrons and hats trumps a man with big pauldrons and skulls, it also helps derail the topic of the thread better. Not that there's much to say, though at this point.
