Yup. How do you like the same gak shoved in your craw now?
This times it's a bit worst as it not really ideological opposition(like what Obama admin did)... but done to assuage Trumpo's fee fees.
Without any other information, you can only conclude that this is *why* it's happening.

That's a despicable retort. You should be absolutely ashamed.

What? Weren't you outraged when Fox News was kicked off for a bit? That administration revoked their press credentials?
That it took the rest of the media walking out to get them back in?

Obama kicks out one network and Whembly is outraged. Trump kicks out half a dozen and Whembly is 'meh'.

With a dash of whataboutism for good measure.
But yeah, it wasn't cool when Obama did it.

Sure was. I never defended that action. Our style of government NEEDS opposition from the press and IT'S NOT A FETHING PARTISAN ISSUE! You're making it one, shame on you. Also, there wasn't anything resembling this constant, orchestrated "creep" of an anti-media campaign being perpetrated by Trump's administration going on during Obama, so your reaching back for a distraction in order to try to polish this turd is just desperate.
Here's what happened... the regular full press conference was canceled. (Probably because Trumpo was traveling from give speech to CPAC).
They then decided to have a "gaggle" for a small pool press conference (ie, not the full blown daily press conference).
They planned on having an on-camera gaggle meeting, but canceled the on-camera part this morning.
This small "gaggle" is held in different area (?? why?) and it allows the press sec to choose the attendees.
That's part isn't unusal.
What makes this abnormal, is the number of friendly media types chosen for this small gaggle.
No one is getting kicked out or losing their credentials here.
Seems, the acrimony is over not getting picked to come play.
EDIT: FWIW, the kerfuffle seems justified and the WH is wrong playing favorites... I just see this as the usual tensions between the media and the Presidency... rather than some harbringer of authoritarian monsterous administration. Rather, this reeks of Trumpo asking Spicer "what can we do to send a message to dem fake FAKE news organizations???"... Spicer goes "I know!".

Try again with the focus. "What makes this abnormal, is the number of friendly media types chosen for this small gaggle." WRONG! What makes this "abnormal" is the purposeful exclusion of outlets that Trump has repeatedly called out as "fake news" because they don't spin in his direction. Period. And it reeks of infringement of the freedom of the press. Study authoritarianism and you'll see that power is usually taken in small bites over a period of time. Trump has been in office, what, barely a month and this is where we're at already?

Nope. The WH is under no legal obligation to let any press members in... As far as optics and stuff? Yeah... this looks bad.
Study authoritarianism and you'll see that power is usually taken in small bites over a period of time. Trump has been in office, what, barely a month and this is where we're at already?
Whem you have to see that legalities and optics aside, the WH barring established press outlets is really actually very fethed up and not a good indicator that this admin is not in actual fact a total fething gakshow.
Also, fething Breitbart has press cred? I can't believe it.

I think Trump's largest problem when he sounds stupid is that he improvs too much. He'll go on long tangents that he has barely thought of, let alone practiced. Other Presidents have sounded better, but have, at least in my opinion, relied much to heavily on teleprompters. If you look at many of their addresses, even to the press you can see their eyes moving back and forth reading. Trump would definitely sound more "political" if he at least tried this now and again.

It isn't that hard to find the hypocrisy in the pro-life movement. Just ask any of them how much they've looked in to alternate means of reducing abortion. Ask them if they read about the incredible impact that free IUD programs have for at risk women, and if on learning it can lead to a drop in abortions of up to 80% if they support such programs.
Almost every time you will get blank looks, because the idea of actually doing stuff to reduce abortion just hasn't occurred to them. Because it isn't actually about the foetus. It's about the crusade.
The point is, some progressives are perfectly willing to publicly humiliate people, big and small, if they go against the current progressive orthodoxy. If it's bad for the Milos of the world to do it, it's bad for Samantha Bees of the world as well. No double-standards please.
I don't much like Samantha Bee, I've just never found her that funny. As a result I don't know how aggressive she gets on her show, or how much that . But if you want to compare her to Milo, you need to give an example of her saying anything as bad as 'thick as pig gak media jew'.
I'm guessing she's said nothing like that, and your attempt to equate the two is very, very weak.
I have looked into free IUD programs and heavily support them. I even supported voluntary perminant sterilization programs for women in Africa. For those women surviving child birth and the financial burden is and extreme concern, and desire such services. However for some reason sterilization services have plumeted as it's not "politically correct" when 1st world nations sponson it. Kind of the mirror of the abortion debate.

Trump's largest problem when he sounds stupid is that he is stupid, does nothing to help himself stop being stupid and in fact does not even know that he is stupid.

This is hardly the first time this kind of thing has happened. Other administrations have done it in the past as well, even going so far as to justify it with an "it's okay since I don't believe the are actually news". Note that I'm not defending this kind of action, just pointing out that it isn't a shocker that it's happening, and is in fact pretty commonplace.

No, it isn't commonplace. Not even close. What is commonplace is for credentialed news sources to have access to WH briefings. That is commonplace.

If outrage over the government's restricting access to the press is overdoing it, count me in! There are pillars that act as the foundation to our society that shouldn't be chipped away at.

I'm a little news blocked at the moment. Is this news ban a semi-permanent ban like what Obama did with FOX, or is it more like "this one time, I'm only letting my friends into my secret clubhouse"?
If it is indeed just a one-time thing, it's still pretty crappy, but not nearly as bad. Banning one station indefinitely and banning a handful of stations once is pretty much on the same level.
We dont know really, it may just be a one time thing, but its important to call out either way. Were Trump's platform and rhetoric different, it could probably be handwaved away and ignored by most easily, as it usually was under other administrations, but the places he kicked out (really, the BBC?) and the rhetoric he's spouting make it worrisome.

No. A hypothetical permanent ban on Breitbart is not the same as blocking access to the BBC once because only one of those is an actual news organisation.

So, hypothetically if a President banned ABC permanently (for "reasons"), how would that fare against banning all the alphabet groups once?
