Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

The weapons options revealed so far are going to make them pretty easy to field as Marines - and they have a counts-as Land Speeder too with the balloon car.

Yeah so far it's not very 'multi-level'. It's just one level, and quite a tall one at that. Hopefully the kit has a bit more flexibility. Other than that it looks amazing. I do hope we can get it outside of the box because I need more Scouts like a need a fething hole in the head.
GodDamUser wrote: Well tbf the Necromunda box set didn't have enough terrain in it
Yeah, about 2 sets + 1 Outlander set was enough for a good game with many levels and bridges. 5 sets, let me tell you, is too much!

Makes me wonder how long this has all been planned out.
I think it's new, I had the same thought and it's one the smaller guys too, seems to have followed the PP style with a curve to it.

Shadow War actually looks cool and the terrain is great. As someone who primarily plays Necromunda, I'm fine with this being a reintroduction to Necromunda rules for a larger player base. I'm sure we will still get Necromunda proper rereleased and these rules could be a preview for any tweaks we can expect to see. Should also make for some cool Inq28/Inquisimunda themed forces.

Will say that this is a much improved show for them compared to last year. Whichif I remember correctly consisted of one guy begging people to license the IP and hawking a 8 year old starter set in new boxes.
Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

I don't like the Dwarf stuff very much. There are elements that are interesting but it's starting to feel very WoW.
Shadow War though.. hrggggg.. brb Yeah.. whew.. that was nice.. so.. yeah.. This is basically exactly what I thought I was getting when I bought kill team. The fact that it seems like they're setting it on it's own so you don't have to deal with Bloathammer40k is fantastic.
The terrain is little more than the Platformer Chemical Plant with extra skulls and a few 40k specific pieces to tie it together. That's not a bad thing by a long shot, but it's also maybe not the sort of thing you could frame a whole table around. I hope the height on the wall sections is similar to the old Imperial Sector stuff I have..
That said.. you could pretty much knock that big furnace looking piece on it's side, get it to make babies with that crazy Genestealer Cult vehicle and you'd have an amazing Bowel Burna or Speedsta.
I'm more excited about 40k stuff than I have been in a very long time. I think GW might be realizing that the veterans.. who do still buy, were looking for something more in line with the old crazy grimdark Blanchefest and not all the Power-Ranger-esque Space Marine releases we've had for the last decade. Anyway., excited to see this launch and will probably scoop it up.
and everyone said stormcast were the fantasy space marines... now that this garbage has been shown, hopefully they can get onto more interesting things.

Holy jesus in a tincan. This terrain is amazing looking. Don't need any more Boyz or Scouts, so hope there will be a way to get the rules and the terrain separetaly.

I actually like the looks of some of those new dwarves. Not so much the drop troops, but the "normal" infantry and the airships I like. A few of their weapons and bits look like they could actually make halfway decent orky kitbash components, but I'd have to get a better look at them.
The new 40k terrain looks really nice. I'm going to have to start saving my pennies, as I'm going to need that plus a few sets of Promethium Relay Pipes, a Haemotrope Reactor, a couple Manufactorums, and a Munitorum Armored Containers. I think an ADL would be a good fit, and I already have one of those. Maybe an Honored Imperium and a Void Shield Generator? The Void Shield Generator wouldn't necessarily make sense as a fortification, but it looks somewhat fitting. Do you think a Skyshield Landing Pad would look fitting with the gantries if it was painted to match?

Fantasy space marines they are. While the Overlords are Squats. And I could see another release for them coming, especially if they had more air-ships to add. This 'garbage' is hilarious and great.
I mean, we have Star-Lizards, Blood-cannons, Anime-Chaos Generals, Space Marine Knights, Fire-Fetish dwarves that run around naked, Spider worshipping goblins, Bright yellow Orcs that are bigger and badder on belligerent cabbages... the list goes on. This just adds to the setting and by and far fits it just fine.

After seeing the other models in the range, I like them a lot (apart from the zepelin which is meh). AoS setting is starting to get interesting, all last 3 releases were good (sylvaneth, orruks and steampunk dwarf, though the fyreslayers were awful). Now, if they could only add some depth to their rules and make a cool new undead army, I could get on board.

You forgot Tree-elves, Lovecraft-elves, loin-cloth orcs that hunt monsters for moar Waaagh and Ogres being chased by ice-storms. It's like the super-intelligent warp-stone huffing Nazi assassin rodents set the bar and everyone's trying to jump it.
Simply put, long live AoS in all it's epic glory.

AOS really start to feel like an absurd, anything goes setting. Which is not necessarly a bad thing, and make it a much more interesting setting than it was in the beginning
The thing is that they really need to stop focussing on the sigmarines so much (which are by far the worst part of the setting imo) and release a normal human army, so we can get a point of comparaison

Good to see the sisters neglected, what with them never having anything in the fluff about them having engagements remotely close to Armageddon during the conflict.
That's 'cause GW does not have a nice little box of plastic Sisters to sell you along with the game.

Haha, did you copy and paste that first part from the AoS thread. Read that sentence three times now.
I get what you mean about the Stormcast, despite being one of my favorite armies.
I'm looking forward to the regular humans and Aelves in the future. Especially the Azyrheim Lancehost.
A army of human and elf knights that campaigned in the fire realm, home to the kingdom of Volpone with it's knight army and sacred river? How's that not a wink at some knight goodness in the future.
