I honestly might seriously get two boxed sets, and add in an Imperial sector set for a full on table... hmmm, Even having one set, this is a great batch of starter stuff for a battlefield 4X4 table. I'd really like to see a multilevel 4X8 table.

Judging from the trailer it should be flexible enough to stack and / or keep low. The promethium pipes should also attach nicely to some of the other parts of the kit.
Pipes, VSG, and Haemotropes will all go well with this kit.

I will be using it with two manufactorums, a set or two of containers, a set of pipes, and a set of reactors on a 6x4 table. Hopefully that will provide sufficient terrain. I might add my craters on as well to represent the power depot being bombed.

From what I've glimpsed of those poorly shot photos of the prices, the boxed set may yet again be the best deal, as the terrain sells for €30 - €40 a piece.

May be getting two boxes myself, as the terrain is very tempting indeed.

I really like the idea behind this release.

However, I don't like the scouts and don't need the orks or the terrain.

I think I might just use this as an excuse to buy Deathwatch Overkill and then purchase the rules off Ebay (or from GW if they sell them separately).

And then buy some Dark Eldar....and some Tau.....and some Necrons.

Well played GW....well played.

Scouts are a bit of a downer, they have not aged well and their sprues are horrendously barren in comparison to later releases. Them all being Wayne Rooney clones doesn't help much either..

Rules will probably be released digitally via iStore and the Black Library site.

Some additional Armageddon scenery, and you can buy them all separately.

Also, looking on the comment section, some FW guys said that this will be the last Thunderhawk batch that they will made, but that's another story.

I am not really bothered by Scouts. I would have liked a squad of Skitarii instead though. I wish Kasrkin were available in plastic, because I would totally put Kasrkin heads on Scouts instead of the Jarhead heads they normally include.

Depending on in what capacity the Militarum Tempestus is playable in the game (which I hope is a full team and not just a helping hand) I may have to go with Scouts, as I've got nothing else 40k-related.

Though I will be using heads from someone else to make them less awful..

I think adding in those heads might be a pretty good idea. I like that Skitari idea as well. Good call on both of those.

Vigo. Spain.

I'm totally gonna use one box of the new AoS dwarfs as Squats in this. They just blend so well even with the terrain of the box.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Necromunda has some rules for Squat Miner Gangs, should be fairly easy to port over. Only issue would be their special rules in regards to territory, as I suspect Promethium Caches will replace those, so that would have to modified.

They have some equipment similar to the genestealer cult, lascutters, rock drills and explosives, some good conversion options.

The boxed set is a bit too rich for my blood, for the stuff it includes, as I don't want scouts or any more orks and I already have all the terrain I really need.

Which means so far I'm firmly on the "see if you can get the rulebook off eBay" camp.

Given the scenery is cheaper in the box than seperate I would expect getting a rulebook will be easyl.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

After the big announcements at the Gamma show in Las Vegas, we are releasing Shadow Wars: Armageddon – a standalone self-contained skirmish game set in the hive cities of Armageddon. The news has been very well received and many people are highly anticipating this release. Shadow Wars: Armageddon is a skirmish game similar to Kill Team and based on the classic Necromunda ruleset. The rules have remained the same, however we have introduced rules to allow for other Warhammer 40.000 rules to be used in the game.

Necromunda is widely known and many existing customers will know this system. It has always been a very popular game system and we are offering extra support for the re-launch of this exciting game. More information about the Shadow War: Armageddon spring campaign can be found below

Finally we are releasing a new battletome and Warscroll cards for the Daemonic followers of Khorne.

Go loud date: 1st of April (also check www.warhammer-community.com!) Pre-order: 1st of April
Available for order: now Start selling in your store: 8th of April

SHADOW WAR: ARMAGEDDON – THE GAME

SHADOW WAR: ARMAGEDDON – THE GAME

This box contains a standalone boxed game, based on the Necromunda classic rule set. In this game two Kill Teams fight against each other in Skirmish combat in the labyrinths of a hive world.

The rules have remained the same to the original Necromunda rule set, however we have introduced rules to allow for other Warhammer 40.000 rules to be used in the game.

The box comes with a Space Marine and Ork Kill Team, however the game can be expanded using various other Citadel miniatures. Free PDFs containing rules for 10 additional Kill Team factions can be downloaded from our website after the 1st of April.

The box contains:

· Two Kill Teams consisting of 5x Space Marine Scouts (48-16) and 5x Space Marine Scouts with Sniper Rifles (48-29) versus 10x Ork Boyz (50-10)
· Brand new multi-level modular scenery with a heavy industrial theme. The scenery is modular and can be constructed in various shapes and settings.
· A 120 softback rulebook. This rule book will currently only be available in this box. It contains the full rules needed to play, including 6 missions and comprehensive rules for linking games together into a large evolving multi-game campaign
· 3x translucent red plastic templates, Overwatch and Hidden counters, 7x dice – 5x D6, a scatter die and an artillery die

And the announcement for the activity pack:

SHADOW WAR: ARMAGEDDON – SPRING EVENT CAMPAIGN

Now that's a proper table.

Pity they're using studio models to play on it and not their own conversions or the like.

I might need to get several sets of terrain now.

Dammit this and the new Dwarves being released right after the GKR kickstarter ends makes me and my wallet cry for differing reasons.

I'm going to have to make some hard choices.

They showcased a few conversations for GoC on the community site, there's glues and sprues in WD, it's not like they don't show conversions

Perhaps we'll see some shadow war stuff on the community site too

Even that board might be a little tongue-in-cheek throwback to a famous White Dwarf pictures from the late 90's --- a game shop (maybe in the U.S.?) build a massively tall gaming table for Necromunda.

Classic stuff. Has anyone done the cost evaluation on that board above?

And how many sets do you need to create a table like that? 37?

I'm planning to get the main set and will most likely just keep the terrain and trade the minis away.. and maybe 1 extra building kit if they sell them separately later.

I showed it to my friend who owns a FLGS and jokingly suggested that he'd build something similar, though it would be at least €1000,= in terrain kits at the very least.
