Also included are a toolbox and fire extinguisher, because in the grim darkness of the far future safety is still a top concern.

The terrain looks great, but I'm not convinced on the bases. The surface looks good, but I really don't like how the details digging in the base make the edge look all jagged and messy.

I'm more concerned that the terrain kits we've seen don't have those vertical components anywhere, when they be so neat to use as 'scatter' obstacles on upper floors.

I think that, having seen that crane arm, I just got motivated to finish my kitbashed Stompa (I've been procrastinating for months about building an arm for its close combat weapon...)

what kits are you referring to?
The crane looks like it could be on an upper floor, and the 2 new sets of mechanicus terrain are just different combos if the existing sprues, they have chimneys etc that can be on upper floors. Have I missed some other terrian?

They'd be perfect for Genestealer Cults, if not for the lack of 25mm bases. :( Hopefully they do another set.

All the new terrain kits are up, looks like the Ferratonic Incinerator is 45 euros for 4 sprues, why would anybody ever buy the Ferratonic Furnace for 40 which has 2 sprues less, unless its an error or something

What are the chances that GW will release trains or cars to furnish your boards? A GW train set complete with tracks. I'd buy that.
I will be buying the crane and tractor. That kit is lovely!

Well, couldnt resist anymore and ordered the Incinerator, Promethium forge and more Mantic kits to start building a new table. Mostly looking forward to the possibilities of combining GW's with other manufacturers' plastic ranges. The detailing on the Mechanicus stuff is just fantastic and should work well with the industrial terrrain from Mantic.

Extending the detail down the sides of the base is a pretty radical new concept. I like the idea of it as it allows the bases to blend better with the table top, especially if you paint the sides the same way as the top is painted. If you paint your base edges a different color from the tops, these are probably not the bases from you. will be interesting to see what people do with these.
Mymearan wrote:Bear in mind that the painted bases are probably resin masters, I don't expect the detail to be that sharp.
Sprue pics are up on the NZ site and they look pretty sharp.

The Sector Mechanicus (aka Shadow War: Armageddon terrain) kits; none if them have random little lights or small vent-stacks like the basing kit does and I think it'd be neat to have some like that, especially if they were designed to fit the slots in the walkways so they were movable.

Seems like pretty tiny terrain for the price. Crane is cool but the rest barely seems to be able to fit a child inside.

You know what I love best about the tractor and crane? It manages to look futuristic and backward at the same time. It's like an old Caterpiller tractor from the 30s yet it has advanced looking keyboard controls and is probably nuclear powered too. That's awesome.
I kinda want more now. Cars, vans and trains.

Doesn't the Vindicator come with a couple of tools on the sprue too?
I think there'll be some cool conversions you could do with these kits and the Kataphron servitors, to make a complete Mechanicum workshop / service yard. They'd also make good replacements for Forge World's discontinued trailers for the Trojan support vehicle.
