Repetition is important in marketing because there's always a new customer. If you advertise only to the "old hands" you can end up easily with a marketing system that is useless at actually recruiting new customers.

Personally I don't need rules for the DoK warband; those models will blend seamlessly into the units as is and that queen is fantastic. I seriously love how classic fantasy her pose is. She's in the most epic and high fantasy game GW makes and yet at the same time her design and pose would suit the front cover of any of those old plup-fiction fantasy adventure stories.

Kind of an off topic question, but do warbands rotate out of being able to he played like cards, or are they always good to use?

Warbands and their unique cards do not rotate out. Only universal cards and (for some reason) boards.

Thank you! Yeah, hadn't really liked any of the Warhammer Underworlds warbands so far, but that Daughters of Khaine one may be something I order.

Just wanted to make sure that if I don't get around to playing the game for a long while, or if I convert up an alternate warband using old Dark Elf models from Fantasy... they won't be rotated out.

Warbands don't rotate out but being reliant on card-stock they can end up out of production as a warband with their unique cards, but will still be sold as a warband of models only for their respective army. And the 3rd party/physical stores often still hold stock even when GW central is dry.

Leading the Krushas is the biggest and baddest orruk in the warband, Morgok himself. As you’ll see with each of the fighters, they gain Waaagh! counters each time they attack. Not only do these help to Inspire the fighters, but you can also trade them for some nifty bonuses. Morgok can spend his counters to push each friendly fighter two hexes – and let us tell you, the last thing an enemy warband wants to see is these three brutes all getting closer.

Armed with the brutal gore-basha, ’Ardskull isn’t the most subtle fighter in Warhammer Underworlds. Point him at a target and watch him hit it until it’s dead. Being able to power up his damage output with his Waaagh! counters is incredibly useful, especially if he finds himself surrounded.*

Rounding out the warband is Thugg. While he doesn’t have the outright damage output of his fellow orruks, he’s just as hardy and can spend his Waaagh! counters to make his attacks more likely to hit.**

Play Style

Morgrok’s Krushas are a purely aggro style warband*** – they want to get stuck in as early and as often as possible. Each of the fighters puts out a decent amount of damage, even before they’re Inspired, so they’ll easily be able to deal with weaker enemies and start stacking up the glory. What they lack in numbers, they make up for with having 5 Wounds apiece, meaning that opponents will have to focus on each one to take them down. So, attack, grab those Waaagh! counters, then keep attacking – Beastgrave will soon be yours.

Morgok’s Krusha’s are available to pre-order from Saturday, and we’ll be taking a closer look at some of their warband-specific cards later in the week. If you’ve yet to take your first steps into Warhammer Underworlds, then the Beastgrave boxed set is a great place to start.

* ’Ardskull’s Frenzied Whirl attack hits every adjacent enemy fighter, making it extremely dangerous to gang up on him.
** If he doesn’t catch you with his first smasha, he’ll krump you with his other one.
*** This means that they are aggressive and seek to score most of their glory points through destroying enemy fighters rather than by claiming objectives.

I still love the gameplay, but have decided that I'll just either use the cards I have, or print off what I need and put them in hard sleeves.

The minis are so awesome, but more than anything I just hate sorting and trying to keep my card collection current. It's like work that I'm paying to do... but then I never was a card gamer!

If you were never a card gamer, then just treat this game like a boardgame; just play with faction-specific decks (though for this I would stick to just Beastgrave/Dreadfane factions).

I remember hearing a similar complaint with FFG's X-Wing, but there people had less reason to complain. That was not a card game. Just buy the ships one likes and printout the text of the upgrades one wants to use for it.

Relatively speaking, WHU is considerably cheaper than anything else GW puts out. You can buy the entire season for about $300 (that's like, one Necromunda starter set). The problem is that GW keeps trying to sneak extra stuff in there, like leader card packs, or "gift sets" with extra cards, so you can't get everything without cursing GW's name. But you'll be able to play very, very small games of Age of Sigmar with every single faction!

Get a card binder that holds 360 cards (20 pages of double sided 9 pockets). Once you separate the warband specific cards, then just keep the universal cards ordered by set ID. In two years, you can just toss the whole binder out like the worthless garbage it has now become due to set rotation.

There's a great thread here where someone is maintaining decks for all the warbands, made from a single collection: https://www.tga.community/forums/topic/17376-best-decks-for-all-warbands/?page=3

Damn that warband looks good, think they are going to be dominating aggro play for the remainder of the Beastgrave cycle. Some pretty handy generic cards as well.

Pushing all three multiple times sounds pretty strong. Pushing the Wurmspat with their ploy was always nice. Cards I haven't looked at yet and won't until they're posted outside Facebook. I'm not that good a player and with SARS-CoV-2 I haven't visited my brother to play since March or so. I will get both bands eventually based on looks alone, though.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

Warband focus up now too:

Morgwaeth has a claim to being one of Warhammer Underworlds’ best leaders. She’s absolutely instrumental to how Morgwaeth’s Blade-coven play, nominating a friendly fighter (including herself!) to be Inspired every time a foe dies. Thanks to her range, movement, and access to Cleave, few fighters can hide from her – just make sure not to overextend, and keep another fighter or two nearby to keep her safe!

Kyrae is a very different fighter from Morgwaeth. You’ll want to use her considerable ranged abilities and excellent mobility to finish off enemy fighters or push them into lethal hexes for maximum damage. She’s particularly useful for finishing off foes in the later stages of the game, gaining Cleave when she Inspires!

Khamyss is another key damage-dealing fighter for Morgwaeth’s Blade-coven. With a dangerous ranged attack that can Combo into even more attacks, she’s great for chipping away at larger enemies or wading into clusters of squishier fighters. Indeed, when Inspired, and with an attack upgrade or two, she’s truly terrifying!

Kyrssa and Lethyr are minor fighters that you’ll want to use to hold objectives and support the rest of your warband. Neither does much damage, but their speed ensures that they’re great for surrounding foes.

Morgwaeth’s Blade-coven are an aggro-flex warband – which means they’re best when used both to slay the enemy and capture objectives at the same time. The warband needs to play cautiously at first, hunting for easy kills and keeping Morgwaeth safe in order to Inspire key fighters. Pursuing Morgwaeth will be a priority for your opponent, so keep her back and use her in the final activations of a round to score a kill on an overextended enemy.

This flexibility is supported by several ranged attacks. You’ll want to position this warband in aggressive spots where you expect to see conflict in order to maximise your glory points.

We’ll be taking a closer look at Morgwaeth’s Blade-coven and their play style later in the week – in the meantime, check out who they’ll be up against with our first preview of Morgok’s Krushas!

Might have to use that first Inspire on Kyrae because her bow gets bonkers.

But Lethyr’s trick is amazing and grossly understated in the article. Seriously, double the effect of any damage boosts? I wonder if there’s ever gonna be a card to give someone “innate [swords]”?

So we're clear, which one are you thinking that is?

Because I'm not really seeing any bad fighters here.
Khamyss can't be driven back from attacks. When she finishes her attack with the whip, she gets to make an immediate Reaction with her Bladed Buckler.
Kyrssa's hitting on swords, but her knives get +1 damage from any crit rolls.
Lethyr's hitting on swords, but her knives get to deal damage twice if she had 2 or more successes(so crits and swords and she rolls 3 dice) and the attack action succeeds.
Kyrae's just brutal thanks to 4 hex range on the bow, coupled with Ensnare and gains Cleave and hitting on hammers when she Inspires. Knife gets an additional attack dice and damage when she Inspires too.
Morgwaeth's Blood Sacrament is just nasty. Her Glaive has Cleave natively(ignores shield rolls for defenders) coupled with 2 hex range and 2 damage(going to 3 on Inspire) is also quite tasty.

Maybe it's just my being used to playing some of the odder Warbands from the outset, but I don't see any issues here.

What’s weird is that the Blood Sacrament isn’t an Action, or Reaction, it just happens. I’m not sure the rules technically have space for that, except in the general ‘cards overrule rules if they say they do’ clause.

Worst in the team, not the worst fighter in the game, there are only 2 Witch Aelves, don't even know why this need an essay to explain.

I guess Kyrssa? Though I think the pose is a bit daft she certainly seems to be the weakest.
