So, An AoS style small scale fight?

Man... I do have to give respect to whomever actually got the GW culture shift going. What a difference a few years made!

Here's hoping for some new scenery shadow war style. I wonder if this is the new 'not Mordheim ' Hastings predicted. It is coming a year early if so. Assuming 8th edition is the first week of June, there are 3 preorder weeks unaccounted for after the last of the overlords next week.Could we see it next month? Are there no more tidbits in the new white dwarf?

GW confirmed they would be doing some modular AoS scenery to match shadow wars. Really excited for it.

I don't think is gonna be a "Not-Mordheim" from AoS.

I think that is more like the "Warbands " of old WHFB. So... a battle plan of two Freeguild knights and a Troggoth under a bridge? That was a classic

Looks like the release of the skirmisher is quite close (May or June). This issue is focusing on the anniversary. We have already seen all products showcased. There may be hidden hints but I havent read the entire issue yet.

Have you seen my post in the 8th Ed thread? Next month teaser is definitely for 40k but the June issue will be released mid month, on the 16th!

This is just my guess but I could see the new starter set being released on the 17th and a snapfit MkX NuMarine miniature will be sold with each magazine (cover extra). The AoS skirmisher either before or afterwards. As it is the only product teased in May issue it looks more like before 8th imo. What could GW release otherwise, Death Guard?

I'm wondering if these skirmish rules might be presented in the updated General's Handbook

This could be happen. They could combine it with a revised Mini Starter Set.

I guess the releases for Shadespire would fit for this.

Also, me thinks this is what they'll use to fill off the 3-weeks gap that remains prior to 8th edition's coming.

In a way it was the customers. They had been expecting AoS to do great at launch, and instead got what was possibly their most abysmal launch ever. I doubt the shift would have been so rapid if AoS did decently from the onset.

It would be both funny and poignant if the "death" of WHFB is what ends up having saved GW.

I think it was. Forget about not making money, the fault laid primarily on the management of the system. With the death of fantasy, big enough of an uproar was made that shaked down the rotten fundations and this allowed for the change and improvement. I honestly think this couldn't have happened to fantasy because it would have implied it came from the original administration that was the source of the problem. Now we've got a chance.

I just hope that if this is "Not Mordheim" that they treat the fans with a little more respect, acknowledging that book-keeping isn't anathema to game design automatically.

The areas where Shadow-War is losing interest in our group is, almost across the board, the places where they dumbed it down from Necromunda. The core is obviously terrific, but boy does it feel like they thought basic math, and record keeping would terrify modern gamers.

If Not-Mordheim does any of the same i'll have to Frankenstein the old and new rules together... again. :-p

Been told their is a 5 man kharadron kit coming out with options for AoS and 40k. I don't know if this was a misunderstanding/mistake. Has anyone else heard anything about this?

I've gotten good info from them before.

The only five duradin kit for the Kharadron is the already released Grundstok Thunderers. All that's left are the Skyriggers and a couple of characters.

Told this product was not announced by GW yet, and it's description says for AoS and 40k. It was all I was given besides that it's used for the kharadron in AoS.

That was the only description I was given so, it might be a typo from their source. No other discription of what the minis looks like or names were given.

Edit: he's given me good info before but I really think their is a typo or something involved in this. Figured I would just ask lol

In the skirmish version, I sincerely hope they reintroduce psychology and more nuanced morale rules.

It's a 5 model kit for use in 40k and AOS, and it's a dwarf unit in AoS.

With out saying to much of who he is so no one gets in trouble. I'm tempted to believe it might of just just a typo or mistake in the description he was given.

Yeah unless its Demons or something just for fun like the new Grombrindal model, making a unit that's for use in both fantasy and 40K would be a unusual move by GW.

Perhaps, I mean bottle has not posted in the thread about this update yet and I am sure GW must be aware of hinterlands.

If AoS Skirmish isn't based on bottle's hinterlands ruleset, I hope support for it continues anyway. Most people tend to prefer official rules even if a better fanmade ruleset is made

I would not hold your breath it's looking like there doing the same to 40k an like AoS, they think subtracting 3 is the most difficult the players can manage.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

I agree! I love the unique look of the Fimir, and AoS is a great chance to reboot them...
