Tzaangors aren't brayherd, but we'll see. I would really like GW to give beastmen their marks back. Cooler still would be if not all units got all marks; minotaurs can only take mark of khorne or slaanesh, for instance.

I'd mourn the lack of marks for specific unit entries. Tzeentch minos would make for great miniatures somewhere down the line.

Tzeentch Minotaurs with bird heads, that could be really cool. Tzeentaurs. (And with that name people will expect a horsemen hibrid, but no! The Lord of Change strikes again!)

Hmm, if we get Nurgle Beastmen this year I wonder if next year will see Slaanesh beastmen and Khorne Beastmen show up for the big Summer War?

They're enemies like Nurgle and Tzeentch are to eachother so it'd fit and would be a interesting event to see what Khorne does if the summer war is a "free Slaanesh" event.

(Also, the eight lamentations novels might point to Khorne activity as well since it's about collecting his artifacts)

I doubt we'll get Khorne beastmen. The Blades of Khorne book already came out, and anyways Khorne already has a bunch of new units.

Khornegors and Slaangors will probably come eventually, but I wouldn't expect them anytime soon.

...I'm still waiting to see a legit Khorgorath kit released! We haven't seen one since the original monopose one in the starter, which is odd considering how often they appear in the literature!

Not just the Khorgorath, the Bloodstoker and Lord Relictor are still exclusive to the starter sets as well

How long was it between the release of the Dark vengeance box for 40k and the release of the stand alone Hellbrute kit?

I know I'm in the tiny minority, but I always liked beastmen to be undivided. Never saw the appeal of marked beastmens.

It gives them alot of flavor and fluffy nuance, IMO.

Its nice to see the implication of enough vukture and society to have seperate cults of the gods with competing interests.

Its also a great excuse for interesting models. I loze tzaangors waaaaaaaaay more than the standard beastman and Im super curious as to what a slanngor would look like...

Edit: agreed though on flavorful separations being best. Really AoS lends itself to that happening with every race and the amazing possibilities for models.

I think that's why Tzaangors are in the Disciples of Tzeentch instead of Brayherd list right now.

These rules can be used instead of, or in addition to, the rules for fighting in the Realm of Beasts that can be found in the General’s Handbook 2017.

BEAST OF LEGEND
If your army includes any Monsters, you can pick one to represent a legendary creature that rose to prominence during the Beast Wars. Declare which Monster is a Beast of Legend, and pick a trait that best matches its backstory from the table below. Alternatively, you can roll a dice to randomly determine which trait from the table your Beast of Legend has.

Aelves need more love though. Probably will happen next year since the Slaanesh focus is kind of a big deal for them.

I hope there will be something for "new" highborn/high elves in the near future. It still looks like a decent project to work out the current mess, unless there's something true on a remark that GW will eventually retire old armies. I hope it does not come to that.

Hard to imagine them being retired when they have two gods of light (I believe Teclis is technically one?) and they're as integrated in the lore as the dark elves are.

I don't put much stock in those remarks. "Legacy" armies are constantly popping up in lore. They may not receive many/any new releases, but I think many will receive the Sylvaneth treatment and get a few new models to mix in with the older stuff.

Indeed, I mean if Savage orcs(who were mediocre in popularity, constantly overshadowed by everything else and a standard in generic fantasies) of all things get a nice battletome and lore focus then how can that really still be a threat at all?

The current ranges are fine. GW's just pacing out the releases.

It doesn't help that they are filling up the new 40k edition with every codex, which as a result is taking some AoS time.

There's been rumors for a while now about a Slanneesh/ Elf campaign or somesuch release, like there was for Khorne/Stormcast.

I wouldn't expect a campaign before next year's Malign Portents campaign.

Well it's confirmed that next year will have Slaanesh focus so it's possible 2019 will be the big campaign with Malign Portents as a lead-up.
