Basic rundown, College campus activists demanded that all white people leave the college for a day. A college professor disagreed with them. He then got threatened, his class disrupted, cornered in a building, and had students order him to resign. College dean sides with students.

Students have stated that all their demands must be met, or there will be violence.

Well a few minutes of research revealed, unsurprisingly, that the Fox News version of events is inaccurate.

But it still seems that at least some of these students are way out of line. They are the stereotypical SJW that uses their cause to justify doing whatever the hell the want. Proof that even the best of causes can be taken in bad directions.

But naturally the hard right will read this and conclude that all protests against racism are illegitimate.

I'm going back to uni after a few years break. ...I totally forgot about stuff like this. :(

If you're already working at a institution like that I feel you should just take the day off and/or find an education institution that's reputable outside of the local hippy commune.

Mate, all he did was call you out on attacking the source groundlessly. He's not wrong, you said that things didn't go down like Fox said it did, but gave us nothing to back that up with.

The idea makes sense as to why they have these protests, but fail with actual application
The idea is that disruption of normal activities is required to get people to notice you(In this case, it disrupts whites students routine) and forces them to confront the issue.
Yeah, you are noticed, but not for a good reason.

While Fox has an obvious slant/bias (it's just they didn't/don't hide it, unlike so much of the rest of our media cartels until recently), not everything that Fox reports on is a lie despite what the Left likes to believe. That's an old 4chan meme that needs to die.


In fact, I would give slightly more credence to Fox than I would any of the media outlets in your native Sweden, or Germany, to give a couple of examples. Even the tabloid rags in the United Kingdom are more trustworthy at times than the Swedish and German media organs, in my opinion

To my knowledge, the leftist-leaning media outlets in Germany and Sweden don't actually lie outright or distort the truth, they simply refuse to publish or report anything that doesn't fit their narrative like the groping and rape gang epidemic.

Whatever you may say about this or that news source, the video of the encounter between the professor and students speaks volumes.

As a side note, if you look though the website for Evergreen you may be lucky to count 10-20 non white students in the full number pictures posted.

I don't think I saw any sources that said the professor was fired...and why would he be? The letter he wrote and the response he gave to the mob were both eminently reasonable. If the administration caves to this kind of witch hunt, it would be a huge black eye on their reputation.

Its probable IME that the negative press from this will be a huge black eye on Evergreen regardless of what the administration does. It will now be one of those schools like University of Missouri and Yale. The left eating their own, indeed.

Yeah, as I read it the students are or were calling for the professor's resignation because someway, somehow, they perceived the letter he wrote in response to their merry "Whites go away" plan as racist.

I've read it and reread it, and the only possible way it could be misconstrued as racist is if someone broke their mind in half and thought the phrase "muddy the water" was a slur against black people.

Believe me I've tried the explanation route on that subject before, it has never gone anywhere. That you are resorting to personal attacks rather than, say, disproving my point speaks volumes.

Look at Mizzou, after the protests there, the donations to athletics went way down and freshmen enrollment dropped 25%.

The colleges will only fix this once it starts hurting their pocketbook.
