I like the look of all these minis. Reivers armament has me scratching my head tho. In a world of Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, the premier close combat unit of the Primaris Marines is armed with knives and bolt pistols? It'll all depend on stats, but I think it's an odd choice.
Yeah, they haven't said this. They said they are "guerilla specialists". More a Primaris Scout-analogue than an assault unit.

Maybe they will act like scout bikers with their booby traps.

Yup, they're obviously new fig Adeptus Restartes analogues that they can sell to existing owners of Secondus Marine scouts. We've already seen the thematic tactical equivalents, assault marine equivalents, dreadnought equivalents, and terminator equivalents.. and now we have scout equivalents. I await the devastator equivalents next.

We've seen a terminator CAPTAIN not the squad, Inceptors are NOT an assault marine analog. Intercessors are closer to sternguard than tacticals, Devs already exist...kind of. It's just A dreadnought, like how a contemptor is A dreadnought, there are already like 14 different varieties of dreadnought. And these guys look like they might be scout equivalents, or they might be closer to assault marines, or they might be there own thing.

I'm gona call it. The original Reivers have been made with Night Lords geneseed. Mark my words!
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

I could have sworn they did, but that makes more sense. Might be me overbloating my love of assault and just hearing things.

Mostly that the get started boxes are smaller and cheaper. You only get a few units for each faction, and no rulebook includes, but it does look like it comes with a playmat and the box is reversible into terrain. Dark Imperium is for those seriously looking to get into the game at close to the 1000 pt level. These get started boxes are built and priced to be almost an impulse buy. The target audience seems to be new gamers who think "These look cool, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money". It's basically just an even cheaper entry point to get new customers into the hobby.

they seem WAY too unarmed.
They seem like a pretty decent all-around close combat unit.
- Basic weapon for dakka, giving them something to do during the shooting phase. I'm guessing it's going to be slightly better stats than a basic bolt pistol if the trend remains the same.
- Weapon should also have the Pistol stat, meaning that the close combat unit will be able to shoot during close combat.
- Should get an extra attack in close combat from the knife, and possibly 2 base attacks.
- Whatever special rules they will end up with, probably the same deployment rules as the scouts at least.
At least partly. The old assault designation has been changed to "close support" and going by the preview pictures includes both Inceptors and Reivers. I'm assuming the Agressors will be alongside the Hellblasters under the reworked devastator designation of "fire support". But depending on there weapon loadouts I could see most of the new armour types fitting into either "fire support" or "close support". That just leaves the reworked tactical designation of "battleline". Will Intercessors be the only squad type? A five man mkX kit would have room for a lot of options.
Well that's interesting. All the Start Collecting boxes come with a 7th edition formation. So its possible that GW are running the stock down before a rebox, and the CSM box is the first to run out.

Maybe they will do a Start Collecting Deathguard to replace the generic Chaos Marines? Or maybe they are gonna, at last, redo the basic Chaos Space Marine kit?

It shouldn't be at all, the formation doesn't matter, the only thing they could change is the Codex photo included.
The model's instructions are the ones that will have to be updated, but nothing to worry about.
Also, I highly doubt the CSM was sold out before the Tau one, given that it was the very first SC! set ever to be "Temporarily out of stock". It could be something more. Maybe one SC! for plenty of Traitorous Legions...

Still don't like the Reiver skull face-plates. Hopefully they look much better painted the same color as the helmet.

I am probably wrong but I thought that the poxwalkers and DG were different models to those in Dark Imperium.
The poxwalkers are different and are seemingly snapfit and the plague marines are new. They were likely modeled in the same batch and held aside for this sort of thing. I would also guess that the base models were then modified to create the multiparts to create a uniform look while saving on some of the design work.
I do appreciate that they are borrowing the idea from Infinity to have the multi-use boxing with terrain ready to go..
