Librarian is a definite nod to Nicol Williamson in Excalibur.

The captain is standing almost tip toed on the little rock and looks a tad too roman for me. That's the thing that stands out as irking me is the big boot on that lil rock. The weapon options are bland. I am wondering where are the primaris power fists, power hammers...etc. I think a captain should have access to more outstanding exotic weapons than a typical power sword and bolt rifle...talk about bland. But thankfully we know he has at least a few options in the kit.

As for the librarian, I like him but I need to see the helmeted version before I can say i'm gonna buy him.

The tiny bit of rubble he’s resting his foot on is probably the weakest part of the mini IMHO. Should be a very simple fix to put something a little more substantial under there though.

I wonder how long we are going to have to wait before we get an armory for the primaris guys. Right now we have monopose guys, and the rules for those specific minis. But there is no really reason they should be that restricted. Hopefully is that captain kit has a bunch of options it will be the start of a more fleshed out codex.

it does not the captain comes with weapon options, and my local GW manager suggested that the options are going to be more akin to the old space marine commander then "plasma pistol or bolt pistol"

Reivers remind me of Martian banshees from Warzone. I bet they look sweet with the other giant new guys jetpacks on.

I wonder what the statline for the Reivers will be, and what they actually do on the table. Since they use a lighter version of the Mk X armour, will they have 4+, or still 3+? Will there be a downside at all for the lighter versions?

I suspect they will have a quite high move stat, since it was stated that they can "run with full plate" or something like that. I also imagine a deep strike/infiltrate of some sort. However, with just combat blades and bolt pistols, I am a bit sceptical on their performance. Hopefully they have some nice rules to make it for that.

Love the models, all of them. Librarian and Captain look great. Just hope we can get all of them seperately. Would be quite annoying to find a Chaos player to split every single box with.. Also, I wonder when we are getting the dread and repulsor. Those are so dope.

Alpharius? Never heard of him.

So it looks like the Mk. X armor comes in layers. The base layer is the Reiver Armor. It provides some protection against small arms fire, but not much. A second layer is added to become the Intercessor armor. It can stop small arms fire as well as some dedicated anti-personnel weapons. The third layer is the Gravis Armor (possibly still just a second layer added on to Reiver Armor). It is bulky, but provides increases protection over the Intercessor layer. I am liking that setup.

I have to find someone that wants the Death Guard portion of First Strike. I really like the Reivers. Also need two more Intercessors to make a third squad. Unfortunately, the Reivers have a stupid helmetless guy. I can live with that more since he already shed his outer layer of armor, what's the helmet really doing?

I really hope the Captain comes with more than one type of Primaris helmet. I want that optic helmet (minus the crest) for my Hellblaster Sergeant. Regardless, he looks really cool. I think I will repose his bolt rifle arm to be facing outward more. I would rather have had him have the Romanesque leather tabard instead of the plain fabric one. I wonder what other weapons he will come with.

I can't say this enough, but I really like the Librarian. Especially since Force Sword are a bit better than they ever were. The overcoat looks pretty good. It doesn't obscure too much of the armor. It does cover enough to be a bit of a pain to paint, but I will survive. I can't wait to get started on him.

well helmets are interchangeable with regular Marines so if it just comes with 1 helmet (I imagine it'll come witha a helmet/no helmet option bare minimum) it SHOULD be pretty easy to work around. I imagine if you're like every marine player ever yoiu're sitting on a vast pile of heads

Yes, but I want to be ankle deep in Primaris Marine helmets. I really like the Mk. X helmet. It is a better version of my favorite helmet, the Mk. IV. Right now, my Hellblaster Sergeant has a Mk. IV helmet, but if I can give him a Mk. X helmet, I will. Digging the Mk. IV helmet out is easy enough to do.

I had a fun time customizing the Auto Bolt Rifle Lieutenant and Helmetless Intercessor Sergeant to have helmets (had to cut the helmets off their waist). If I were someone that did like Helmetless Marines, I would cut the base off the helmets of the Captain and Librarian and glue them to their hips.

yeah I like the helmets at the waist bit they did. not a giant fan of helmetless marines, but it's nice to see that little detail as you can iamgine they mostly wear their helmet and just took it off momentarily.

The new Captain and Librarian look ace.

Though I like most things about the Reivers, the grenades on the chest look very odd to me.

I think you've put your finger of why I don't like them, those 'half' grenades do look really weird,

if they wanted to have some flat grenades to fit without having to be separate bits they'd have been better to go for a disc type design rather than cut a wwI design in half

C'mon those are pouches incorporated into armour. It looks weird but it's not that unreal.

These are snap fits. Whenever the proper kit comes out, you can expect them to have those bits properly modelled.

I really like the overall design of the Reivers (even if I don't like the inconsistency in naming ), but I'll need to tweak the leg armour a little I think.

Man all these primaris kits look really cool IMO. I just don't know whether to hold off for some chapter specific primaris upgrade kits or some such. Anyone think it's likely we'll get something like that soon?

I love the one on the left!! If you ever get around to doing it can you post a tutorial? I'd love to make my dudes like it as well, and would also help the rest of my Stormcast marines blend with the new Primaris!

Oh they look pretty bad-ass. Love the Chaplain Xavier helmets. Would like to see some side shots of them.

These are the "Easy to Build" kits. We're supposed to see a multi-part plastic kit. From what I understand, there's a mention of Reivers operating as snipers in the Dark Imperium novel?

From what they said early on, the multi-part plastic kits will be compatible with shoulderpads from stuff like the Chapter Upgrade frames.

If I had to guess or bet, id assume they are same numarine statline but 4+ save but +1 attack and 8 inch move. Also can infiltrate

Heavy Bolt Pistol will be probably 12 inches, STR 5 -1 1 dmg and id guess theyd have some power knife that is STR user -2 save 1 damage.

It wont be any fancy and taking them will be highly dependent on point cost.

Jump pack guys are crazy balls expensive so hope these guys wont be the same

I'm pretty sure they have 3+ save; those still look like complete power armours.

The thinner lower leg armour is interesting. As well as making it look obviously lighter than standard mark 10 armour, it's got a very similar silhouette to the very first Space Marine miniatures (as also reflected by last year's Imperial Space Marine).

Not entirely sure. I'm building mine as Black Templars and just adding a few tabards, crosses, and incense to them for now. If I get to where I want a veteran squad and they aren't out I will probably just sculpt the robes and stuff. Trying hard to remember who sells half-burned candles and that sort of thing (if anyone knows please shoot me a PM)

You probably don't want to know where grenade pouches on plate carriers are then..

I thought he looked familiar! Good call.

I like the look of all these minis. Reivers armament has me scratching my head tho. In a world of Thunder Hammers and Storm Shields, the premier close combat unit of the Primaris Marines is armed with knives and bolt pistols? It'll all depend on stats, but I think it's an odd choice.

Just a minor nitpick, but we didn't have them called "the premier close combat unit of Primaris Marines" or anything like that.

Our first Easy to Build kit of the new edition features the Reivers. These guys are the guerilla specialists of the Primaris Space Marines, and their miniatures have a threatening, predatory feel. In contrast to the stalwart Intercessors, the Reivers appear to be advancing forwards, equipped with suppressed bolt pistols and brutal-looking combat blades.

Stripped down Mk X armour allows for a good look at how this newest mark of Space Marine armour functions, with the midsection of the models showing thick bundles of fibrous cabling; this is the mechanical muscle that lets the Reivers punch through concrete, sprint in full plate and leap through ruins and jungles. Finally, each Reiver wears the visage of a leering skull – these guys aren’t just about stealth, but terror. Even if you’ve already got an Imperial army, Reivers will make a great addition to your force, and there are rules in the box to let you start adding them to your games straight away.

Will they likely be able to fight in CC? Sure. But I think these guys will end up being more like the Dark Riders from the Shadowblade faction or Black Ark Corsairs from the Scourge Privateers in Age of Sigmar. Battleshock modifiers with some CC ability and some ranged ability. Not meant to be "OMG they shredded through everybody!" but more "Crap, I forgot to get rid of those guys! They're in range of my guys who have to take morale tests now!".
