Not shocking considering how they started it. A little sad that running down the last few sets might not be to easy.

Also considering the sale their currently having for everything that isn't already out I think it supports that. I flushed out all the non-KS releases for Nasier, Teknes, and Shael-han for $150 just now. I guess though this amount of stuff and a full game with 3+ armies to choose from for whoever I can get to play with me is reasonable for less than I have spent on a single 40k army is reasonable.

I read on the CMON Wrath of Kings forums, which doesn't get a lot of traffic, that the guy who is in charge of WoK has stuff planned for 2018... Pretty vague but makes me hopeful.

There are still a couple units from book 2 that haven't been releases yet. I hope they at least do those units... The White mane duelist, is a female werewolf specialist. And there is a Nasier unit that is a female with a guard dog beast thing.

I am kind of debating on getting everything for the factions I don't have... if they don't make more after the current stock is cleared out, I will be disappointed if I don't get a chance again to buy them.

The game itself is fun. I have only played 3 times... but the game was fast and once I got some of the basic combo/tactics it actually was pretty interesting. In the Smaller games the big beast units like the Mighty Taur were pretty scary... And its not really a Leader can take on whole units game like some other games...

I really like the Goritsi were-wolf/vampire theme. I also ordered a bunch of stuff on the CMON cyber Monday sale... and shipping says it will be here tomorrow!

I'm hoping it stays alive. No one around here is interested in playing, but I do love the models.

Yeah, I don't see a problem working blue. And the fluff probably isn't 'worse' in that regard than a lot of mainstream sci fi, although I have yet to read it so may be setting myself up for a blush.

It's kind of a shame the game is dead. Half the designs per box seem really good, and people talk highly of the fluff and the rules. However, I'm not sure how CMON expected the game to thrive when it was so hard to find in a store, so expensive, and half of the sculpts were ...uninspiring.

After reading this thread I went to look at the WoK facebook site...

Saw This:

"
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ....

So, there was a major shipping mishap with the container(s) that were bringing some of our Wrath of Kings releases to our warehouse in Alpharetta, Georgie from the fabricators in China. This is what caused so much oddity with the schedule of releases, and why we believed there was certain products in the warehouse when there was not.

This situation came very much to light during the initial days of the awesome Cyber Monday webstore sale, and has since been corrected. We are waiting on the return of the products from China now, and as soon as they arrive we will make sure they get posted up for sale and that we will make the proper announcement here.

Sorry again for the miscommunication, and we hope you guys understand that we want you to have this product *almost* as much as you want it!

Cheers all,
The Wrath of Kings team"

Wonder if my order arriving tomorrow will actually have my WoK stuff in it...

I placed two orders and have received no shipping notice at all. So, if you got a shipping notice, it probably means there is a package.

Or they let Neal from TWS mess with their computers.

The shipping issue was only for the newest releases, I believe (the Goritsi Gotha Knights and the Nasier Firehawks). There were guys on FB that reported paying for one or both of those and them not being in their shipment once they received it. I haven't heard of anyone not getting any other WoK items they recently ordered.

The Goritsi Gotha Knights were in my order. Guess I'll see tomorrow.

If it meant they'd keep supporting it I'd support another kickstarter. Honestly it's by far and away my favorite non-gw game. So fingers crossed it isn't totally dead but selling everything but brand new releases for 70% off seems like it could be.

Could also be a repackage clearance to rebrand the game. Not likely, but I can be hopeful.

I would be in for another Kickstarter. The first one was a good deal and I was well satisfied.

I'd be happy with another kickstarter.

Do a new book, a new quickstart two player starter set, maybe some shuffled up bundle deals of old stock, new sculpts... yeah....

I'd be happy if ANY of the Black Friday orders I made would start to see some movement.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I'd also be in for another Kickstarter. There's a lot they could do to revamp interest but I feel at this point CMON will focus most of its efforts on board games, and for miniature battle games only the upcoming GoT game will get any push (and even that may not be sustained, time will tell). We have to remember that CMON is an international company now, not just a few folks in Atlanta. They'll likely keep cashing in on the much more profitable board game market rather than putting forth effort to promote any battle/war games. I sometimes wonder if they even know HOW to promote such games, as it's a very different dynamic than board games.

Mark me down for being OK with another KS for this great game!

But yes, CMON is focusing on GoT and (hopefully) Dark Age.

Many other mini games appear to be getting short shrift...

Also, CMON is now (and has been for a bit) a publicly traded company, so that brings in a new set of pressures too.

Maybe I could be hopeful they're selling stuff at 70% off to get enough people out there bought in and generate some momentum...that's a thing right?

But id be fine with another kickstarter to renew interest and restart. Hopefully with a non messed up plan for the future

I ordered Gotha knights, they had 400+ in stock. I didn't get them and emailed cmon. They said they had the stock issue listed above and refunded me.

I believe the firehawks and Gotha knights will be restocked the end of the month. I also emailed cmon about the sale, game's future, etc. They said they have plans for wok and minis yet to come. The sale had to do with overstock (almost 1000 copies of each box set in stock). I'm assuming that had to do with their new policies, where pretty much no retailer can carry wok anymore, and it has to be purchased from cmon (why miniature market had a clearance sale montha ago).

Game is alive. I would believe "unnamed sources", esp when the cmon customer service team says otherwise. Glad as the game is fun!

So they refunded you without asking? I’d be telling them to send it separate when it comes in stock as the price was awesome. Glad it’s looking like a warehouse purge more than a fire sale.

My only concern is that while they had a showing at Nova they aren't doing anything for Adepticon where they had heavy presence the last 2 years.

The newest stuff wasn't on sale from what I remember so if it was just that that's missing it won't be a big issue if they do refunds

(except needing extra postage for a reorder, but waiting ages for a restock would probably be worse with the flat rate shipping)

Yeah, the Gotha were not on sale... so $35. Plus it will give me an excuse to maybe get some more stuff later on.

I do wish they would have let me know before the package arriving though. They had 2 opportunities. I called in to check on my order as I had not gotten a tracking email. Was told everything was fine, no issues with order.

Then I got an email sating order shipped. No mention of out of stock issues...

My patience wanes every moment I hear another person got a package.

I ordered one within the first few hours of the sale. I want mine!

the knackered website meant I didn't complete my order until pretty late in the day, and it's got to travel to the UK and get through customs

so I fear I won't see mine until well into the new year so i'm fairly relaxed

Yeah, well, my source is pretty good, but he's not perfect.

And I hope you're right, and he isn't!

So, some help please!

I went 'all in' on Teknes and Goritsi during the Kickstarter.

Are there any of those units that I should double up on, especially during this excellent sale?

Can't speak much for Goritsi Alp but I'd have at least 2 of the robot (so a second one if you got one). But if you have 18, 18 and 9 of the original 3 units (pigs/linemen/murder babies) you should be fine. Of the new units I think just single one of each would be enough. I can't see anything you'd need two of in the second wave. The good thing about Teknes is the entire second wave is actually out. Unlike Goritsi, Nasier, and Shael-han.

Why are they not allowing retailers to stock WoK? That can't help raise their profile. It's like the retail equivalent of Flowers for Algernon.

Before this sale, I bought all the WoK minis I owned at the FLGS. I'm as addicted to Kickstarter as the next man, but the prospect of another WOK campaign excites me even less than the original campaign did. While people trust CMON, won't it be difficult for the campaign to overcome the whiff of the grave hanging about the IP? After this legendary Cyber Monday sale, will prospective pledgers see a benefit to "standard FLGS discount plus a year wait" KS prices?
