My old Plog got photobucked, and now it's five or more pages of dead links, so I'm starting this new one. Mods, feel free to correct me if necessary.

Anyway, I've put all my hobbying on hold so I could make some terrain for a birthday party.

Here are some laser turrets.

And some trench wall.

Why is it the same photo twice?

Excellent work bob. Are these for x-wing games or something else?

The turrets could probably work for X-Wing, although the scale is off. I was thinking Dropzone or even some 28 mm games, although I'd probably want to add some Mantic or MEdge terrain bits for scale.

That is if they survive Saturday, when they will be used as cones for a bunch of five year olds to weave around as the fight balloon TIE fighters and run down the trench to the bean bag toss/thermal exhaust port.

The trench walls probably won't last more than an hour.

That is the most Awesome thing I think I’ve ever heard you say. That’s saying something . I didn’t realize they were that big. That sounds like an excellent fun time to be had....I’m jealous a bit.

Either you selected the same photo twice, or they both had the same filename, which confuses the Attachment program...

That sounds familiar. Is it common for Apple products to forget to give each photo a name?

Here they are on a stove for a better indication of their size. They were super easy to make and cost about $1 to $2 each.

Two turrets survived. I can always make more. Oh, and there were helmets. The ones on the left were nixed after I primed them. My wife thought the small might affect asthmatics, or permeate the skin or something. The ones on the right were made out of bowls.

I made some adult sized ones for me and my brother to wear during games of X-Wing or IA.

You're wearing that getup next time we have a gaming meet up.

That's a statement, not a question.

Your party sounds incredibly fun and terribly exhausting. I am both jealous and relieved.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Bob....I repurpose many things.....but never had I looked at bowels for materials as actual helmets. Maybe it’s because when I was young my mom used to give me the bowl haircut, but that is pure inspiration

I am still recovering. Last year, 20 kids RSVPed and only 6 showed up. This year, 12 RSVPed and 25 or more showed up (including lots of unannounced siblings). We didn't have enough hats, so even though we spent the most time on those by far we couldn't use them until the after party (Legos and lightsabers at Grandma's house). I wrote a whole narrative to move the kids from one game station to another while my friend, dressed as the bad guy, taunted them. Instead, upon first glimpse, the kids yelled, "Get him!" and started whaling on my friend with their lightsabers. It pretty much continued on like that.

I'll happily wear the costume again, although without the sunglasses. They aren't prescription.

I would have killed for a bowl cut. I had "Jew fro" hair that could outmuscle any gel.

The bowl helmets would have benefitted from some kind of chin strap to keep them from wobbling.

Here are my warriors of Khaine, in armor like they would have worn in the war against the Yngir. Their swords could have been fashioned by Vaul.

I doubt I'll ever be satisfied enough to stop tinkering with them.

Here is my autarch, although she still needs a certain Joe ne sais quoi.

I should probably remove the bulky shield generator and replace it with something more elegant. And she needs a flowing tabard or loincloth...

You planning on using them as Exodites, or Craftworld styled Eldar?

More like Corsairs.

I've been working on the fluff since 4th edition, and long story short it's a hodgepodge of various Eldar communities fleeing to our galaxy and mingling with our Eldar. There are communities who were trapped in broken off webway sections, stasis bombs, and warded worlds since the War in Heaven.

The anti-Khaine faction is my favorite to work on so far. Their isolation and limited pantheon made them compensate in weird ways. Their Aspect Avengers, for example, have spent long ages worshipping the Great Hawk, who takes in the souls of slain Eldar and thirsts for vengeance(Swooping Hawks reference the same deity). Faolchu the Swordbringer, her consort, (namesake for Falcon grav tanks) brought the martial sects to the Eldar through his first Hawk Lord, Faolmeith, who founded the Avenging Hawks, etc.

Basically, it's an excuse to use the cool angry-looking DE armor and equipment and plastic bits with some of that old Craftworld sandbox freedom.
