Well.. get you by indeed.

Though I do like the idea of having a Valiant with an arm option from the Castellan and six missiles instead of the cannons.

Those are what the options should have been in the first place.

But that's not what's in the kit, and they're not going to give you rules for something you cannot buy.

Twin gatling cannons aren't in the Warden kit either, but Chaos knights can do it in the rules.

I thought FW as phasing out the small parts business when they got rid of the some HH minis and parts?

Sigmarine heads. Uninspiring. Surely they had something other than a bunch of heads...? Probably holding a lot back for the weekender...

The idea of making alternative heads seems to me one of the greatest successes of FW in a long time!!!

If they do for a lot of races it could be a great success.

Waiting for the genestealer cult.

It would be nice to hear about other heads in the heresy open day

Speak for yourself, this is the only release that has had me interested in since about a year.

I think there's a difference when FW is supplying alternate parts for a main line marketed product and when they are making alternate parts for a game only sold through FW itself.

Also I believe GW said they were going to start experimenting with FW stock in local stores - heads might well be one small to produce item that could fit that niche really well.

Now I understand why BB undead team does not have alternative heads. I suppose they will also make for different teams.

Dull for most, but it is in theory a solution to the issue of Liberators being the blandest models ever.

Generic female heads with hair are historically something completely missing from the Citadel range, so that pack is HUGE.

I'll definitely pick up some of them.

Male heads are a giant meh and the female heads aren't great compared to the plastic female stormcast ones, but get points for adding a sorely absent option.

I think the more rugged look of the male SC heads will work very well for my Vanguard.

Not impressed with the female ones. The current plastic heads are better, IMO.

Those are some great looking female space maaaaaaIIIImean sigmarine heads.

Yup. Look great. Going to use those for their intended purpose for sure.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I mean, people get that you don't actually have to use these on Stormcast yeah?

It's not one of the releases I suspect most of us were hoping for - I'd certainly have preferred they hurry the feth up with the N17 and AT resin releases - but most of those have very little tying them to the Sigmarines and SC heads work fine on much of the GW range.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

They're pretty nice generic human heads with a little bit of an epic crusader look, but really not that special and mostly just IMHO reflect the shift from their first, faceless iteration.

I preferred when they were faceless and you had no idea what was inside that armour. That was intriguing, this is dull.

Ah look at the bright side: At least they're releasing things rather than un-releasing things.

Yeah, they could stand to be a bit faster on their feet with the Newcromunda releases, but I'll take a bunch of alternate heads (for minis that mostly wear helmets... ) than wholesale removal of parts of their product line week in and week out.

*claps* Good job. You found one example from an off-shoot list that doesn't even have a book that can do something a kit can't, whereas all the other examples of Knight weapons follow the kits exactly, pretty much like everything else in the game.

I mean really, did you think you'd cracked the code? Found the one chink in the armour that proves, once and for all, that no model = no rule is actually nonsense. Ha! Renegade Knights can have two gatling guns! I'm foiled!

Yes, yes, clearly I deserve mockery for simply pointing out a counterexample in a plain statement. Obviously I have offended you, and will not bother to try to provide relevant information again.

I like how FW takes Necromunda kit with significant % of female bodies then releases all-male head set, while nearly all-male stormcast get all-female head set. It's like they tried the exact opposite of what actually is in the kits. I am not even sure if the entire stormcast range put together has enough female bodies to actually use up the whole head collection...

Though, I suppose making all-official female space marines just got a whole lot easier

Plenty of women Stormcast wear the chunkier armour. There's lots of examples in the fluff of Vanguard chamber, Celestants etc being women. I know i'll be mixing and matching the heads on numerous different unit types.

I think making conversion bits for plastic kits is what FW should mostly do, and it is nice to see stuff for AOS too. Those heads are pretty bad sculpts though.

They're mediocre sculpts whatever you want thtem for. I'd like a couple of the Sequitor kit female heads for Inq28 stuff. Wouldn't touch these.

It would have been more intriguing if the armor faces weren't so dang hideous.
