Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, had a quick look and couldn't see anything. Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness is getting a reprint, available from the open day in Jan, £36. I was in whw today and read the flyer, but foolishly didn't pick one up. Cheers.

Edit- my mate did pick up a copy;

Nice touch. Slaves is one of the best books I feel GW has ever put out. Properly fleshed out (pun intended) Chaos, particularly Khorne and Slaanesh. Will be interesting if they retain the "For mature readers only" label on the front.

If its a permanent WHW item I could be tempted to pick a copy up the next time I'm over that way. It would look good next to the RT reprint

Would love to get this reprint as well as one for The Lost and The Damned.

Those two books, along with WFRP 1E, are literally why I got into WFB and then 40K (and Epic, and..etc.etc. etc.!).

Got the RT book when I was visiting last year, but I’d really like to get hold of STD (ooer) before my next visit. I wonder if they would do a limited time online sale?

Seems like a sort of odd choice to me. Yeah there's a lot of great art but none of the game content is useable and most of the fluff is obsolete. I guess the giant tables of random mutations are still fun.

If you can buy it outside GW events(none here) great! This and lost&damned have been on my wishlist for ages. Even small snippets I have seen have been treasure trove.

True enough, but isn't that what eBay is for? It's not like they are really hard to find, even The Lost and the Damned.

Current eBay listings are about 4-5 times the price of the reprint though...

Me too.

I've got an original copy of Slaves to Darkness, but never got hold of LatD.

Got both myself. Before eBay, no less. Got Slaves in 1989 (in the US). Local hobby shop had to order it for me out of a catalog. LatD got delayed and delayed and delayed, but finally found a copy in 1995 at some crusty old bookstore.

Would probably get reprints to protect the originals. Slaves really set a strong tone for Chaos in both the Old World and 40K. Both stories and art. ''Twas a golden time.

My copy is basically falling apart by now, so I would love to get this. Unfortunately with it being event only, I'm not gonna get a chance to get it most likely.

I wouldn't say it's obsolete just some of the details have changed but the broad principles are there - and this is Chaos we are talking about so who knows what the real truth is

If GW produce the LATD as well then that has a warband type skirmish game that, with StD, does allow you to play out their evolution as a campaign (you'll need rules from 3rd edition). Just be warned it can become unbalanced though if someone rolls well for rewards!

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. " - V

I wish someone would do a chaos computer game complete with random mutations.

I really liked the idea in the 2 realms of chaos books that you were trying to gain more gifts than mutations and ultimately you'd end up either a spawn or a daemon prince (or dead, but even then you might rise again).

Not too practical for a mini game (unless you want to buy a new figure and convert it after each battle) but tons of fun if a computer keeps track of that.

Tempting as my books are a bit battered now.

They are a great read and source of info.

Great books. Classics on how books for GW should be written.

They have the old school chaos bands lists, and are damn near games in their own right that still hold up after all these years.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Friends are staying a week in Nottingham and they're also attending on Saturday, so I've asked them to bring along a copy of the book and a Necromunda pin if they get a chance to.

I really love my copy of Rogue Trader they released last year, it has been on my to-buy list for a long time now, but due to the prices asked for some copies out there and the state they are in, I never bought one second hand. A blast to read though, loads of fun nuggets in there, so I can't wait to see how this one is for me.
