Interesting. Do these have a full campaign rules? I was thinking about doing some mordheim style game but set in the realms of chaos, and perhaps this (perhaps with Lost and the Damned) already have what I need.

Between Rogue Trader and Slaves to Darkness, you've got all the rules you need to run a campaign with Khorne and Slaanesh Chaos Renegade warbands (and also army lists for Khorne and Slaanesh armies for 3rd edition WFB, and Black Legion, World Eaters, Emperor's Children and Grey Knights army lists for 1st edition WH40k).

With a bit of work, you could probably adapt the rules for other editions of WFB or WH40k.

Full campaign rules and then some.

Seriously. Rogue Trader is a cornucopia of tables and dice rolls.

This includes army selection. You pay your points to by a dude/s. You can then rolls on specific weapon tables to see what they're armed with (though one can of course choose, but that's boring).

It's less a functional War Game, than a RPG with models.

Typical GW, collecting up a load of previously published material and reissuing it as a hardback edition! Money grabbing shysters!

If I'd known this collected edition was going to come out I wouldn't have bought the original White Dwarfs it all appeared in!

Well on the flip side with 8th ed game sizes chaos armies have so many models the tiny warbands are less of issue model wise! Experienced player has tons of models just to get standard game resulting in ridiculous sized army Much like my 7th ed orks when we switched to 2nd ed. Imagine how huge army I had for 2nd ed

Starting on page 233 of StD, let's see what sort of Slaaneshi Chaos renegade I end up with ...

D100 for starting profile 1st roll is 91, so tat's an Abhuman; roll again, 68 gets me an Ogryn champion. All champions start with a Chaos Attribute and a Chaos gift from his chosen Power . Rolling on the legendary D1000 table, I get 821, Siamese Twin for my starting attribute. One Fear point (?) and his Move is halved. They're joined "side by side", so they only have two arms between them. Each twin has its own profile and gain Chaos Attributes separately (hopefully one half doesn't later become a spawn!). For my Reward, rolling on the Rewards of Slaanesh able results in 03; Face of Slaanesh (causes fear) and all Slaaneshi champions get +1 WP.

Starting gear? Well, let's assume my Ogryn was in the army, so let's look at the equipment charts in Rogue Trader for Imperial Army squads. He's a champion, so lets say he was a sergeant. Basic weapon? a lasgun. And a plasma pistol because he's a sergeant. No grenades, though. Mesh armour on top of his flak, so a 4+ save. Let's say he's got the squad's communicator, and for some reason he's also got an energy scanner. He's also got a photo-visor and a rad-counter. Unfortunately, all that gear is tech level 5 (7 for the energy scanner) and he's only Int 4, so he can't use it. Oh well.

Right, off to buy two Ogryns, a hacksaw and some green stuff ...

"we’re looking at some of the exciting products available for the first time at the event, then exclusively available at Warhammer World and on the Travelling Stand."

Sadly Bolt Thrower has been dissolved a few years ago after the passing of their drummer.

Now I just need them to reprint the Lost and the Damned too (only 2 years to go for that, right? )...

Was the cover really that red originally? Both of my well-used copies are basically orange, but that might just be fading.

I thought Lost and the Damned was published in 1990?

Am I off there? (Definitely possible!)

1 - go to WHW
2 - buy every copy
3 - flip on Ebay/Facebook to the rest of the world that has no access to WHW
4 - profit and then retire

I dont see how that doesnt work? Is there a maximum buying limit per day? Surely it is a no brainer if you have a bit of time.

The copyright notice on The Lost and the Damned says 1990, but I don't remember if that's when it actually came out.

But what a swansong of an album Those Once Loyal was. As perfect as death metal gets.

Good god, no. D-ROK are only remembered because of the whole Warhammer Records thing. They are terrible. Bolt Thrower, and Sabbat = quality.

Thankfully there's a group on FB now for people to arrange to buy location & event stuff for others at-cost to ensure this kind of behaviour doesn't work as much, since evidently GW aren't going to solve the problem and also evidently a lot of folk would try and scalp profit at the expense of the community.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal
