Sounds kind of alien though with the language. The words used when teasing cypher were different.

Necrons and Tau codex announcements, they watched the indomitus campaign, they waited for the conclusion of the deathguards war in ultramar, and now they are coming for the weakened imperium.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

Yeah could be literally anything at this point

Especially now with how early GW is teasing stuff. I believe Tau is the next confirmed codex, but it could just be a teaser for something later on...or during that release.

Except we know the Tau have been expanding still even more so than usual. This is from the 8th lore too. So as much as I want this to be Tau no way. I mean I’ll be surprised and happy if it is. As the resident Tau fanatic it’s not them.

Yeah honestly the wording sounds more like necrons. But I would love it to be Tau.

I mean, it is most definitely not squats.

What would enslavers look like as models?

I like this. It's the dullest possible outcome, so it must be true.

Probably Custodes. They're good at waiting.

Squats.

Who's been waiting longer? Not Sisters. Sure, Sisters have been waiting and watching, but not as long as Space Dwarves.

Just strap rockets to anything Kharadron, and GW is done with the army.

Also within 8th ed map we seen how big the necron dynasties are. Doesn’t seem like they have been waiting for anything and they look awakened.

I got a feeling this is a new army. Then again... this is 8th. Could be primaris for all we know.

Why? They have to release something while they hold back plastic Sisters.

LOL, hey, as a necron player I'm over the moon that we might get 2 minutes in the sunlight so I don't think it's dull. Though there is a part of me that hopes it's something insane like the old ones,

Is there a group that is more famous for waiting than the necrons, I mean they waited long enough that OP did actually deliver.

The only thing I can think of that has watched and waited - the Terror that hunts Tyranids from the Darkness of the Space Between Galaxies!

That or the return of the mighty Squats!!

Or well we already know Demon pre-orders are close so it can't be that. So yeah at this stage I'd say its the next few codex editions being released. Which makes sense - Pre Orders for Demons so they've got to confirm at least one or two more codex releases.

Honestly I can't see them releasing a new army at this stage, they've already got production issues and a lot on their slate at it stands (and that's without them considering plastic Sisters).

Wasting a warhammer world on codex announcements? Seems unlikely. If they are they better come with models.

Don't get me wrong, I'm waiting for the codex too (and plastic Fayled Ones while we're at it), but it's pretty much expected that we won't have to wait long for it for too long. I see an announcement of an announcement, I want it to be something cool that I can't guess.

Considering it's coinciding with the malign portents, it could be something wild, like an army for both games, but it's likely double dipping on the undead thing.

They don’t watch they gaurd. If it was them I think the language would be more..l imperial and hopeful. This is ominous something that has been wanting to show hasn’e Been able too. Doesn’t seem like a custodes as they want to gaurd him and need to be told to go out. Also it would want to sound more hopeful these protectors return. ‘

Who knows though 40k GW is exceptionally boring lately. It’s easily possible this is another marine release.

Why not both? I'm sure we can find some more! The more, the merrier!

You know what fits the announcement frighteningly well? Watchers in the Dark, the Ewok army of 40k. They've certainly be watching while waiting for Johnson to get out of bed and get dressed. And we haven't had a Primarch release in a long time.

That's it. I forswear Custodes as the almost sensible guess that it is and go with Watchers in the Dark instead. All hail the little robed dudes!

I wish. I'd do a genuinely undead faction in 40k in a heartbeat. But I think with the exception of the established daemons, GW is quite happy to have a similar appearance but hard distinction between 40k and Age of Sigmar.
