But they are another imperial power armoured faction, we need more and new xenos first.
Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Oh no, the year changed. That makes everything different. More practically, 7 months into the edition and we're finally getting a non-power armor release (the third real release total), soon to be followed by yet more imperial armor.
8th edition so far has been dirt poor in terms of model releases, the stuff that is supposed to be bread and butter. A basic analysis should inform anyone why this comes as a disappointment to many, as yet more imperium means the sparse model releases comes at an opportunity cost to other model ranges with massive holes in their product line.
I understand. I play Tyranids, I haven't had a new model release since 2011 I *think.* However, I also understand that rolling out a new edition has causes the codexes to have taken priority. I knew from the very announcement of eight edition that model releases would be very slow. I am also willing to bet that come May most Xenos players are going to be very, very happy. I could be wrong, but I am willing to WAIT and see how this all plays out. So far this has been the BEST edition of the game, and I've never had more fun playing 401K than I am now.

I know, for those Sisters players I hope you soon get what you deserve. But for now, yelling and screaming about it and acting like children, like a lot of players have been isn't going to accomplish anything.

Fifth non power armor book.
Don't care- the books are detriments as far as I'm concerned- they should have worked with the indexes for a while, see how the edition worked out. Daemons are the first meaningful non-power armor release, and that only matters for a quarter of the people who want it.
My Tyranids beg to differ...

Frankly Togusa, I think you're reading the level of emotion you want there to be into what people are saying - most people are expressing disappointment or annoyance, not "yelling and screaming and acting like children".
"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal
Whatever GW release your going to get half the community whining about something "Another marine army" "No support for my faction" " Those models are ugly"
The self entitlement of people on here is reaching record levels, be patient or leave the hobby

What???
2012: Tervigon/Tyrannofex Hive Tyrant/Swarmlord
Early 2014: Hive Guard/Tyrant Guard Tyranid Warriors/Tyranid Prime Harpy/Crone Exocrine/Haruspex
Late 2014: Toxicrene/Maleceptor Tyrannocyte/Mucolid Spores + Sporocyst + Spore Mines Zoanthropes/Venomthropes/Neurothrope Spawn of Cryptus (Broodlord in the boxed set)
2016: Broodlord (single release of the Spawn of Cryptus, I believe)

This is fair. On this forum and in this thread I will admit people are staying pretty civil. But on the Community Site's facebook announcement, the level of butt hurt was reaching Trump v. Hillary levels.

Yeah... It's almost like what I would expect to happen if GW were to, say, tease some 'huge' 40k news, that turned out to be just a codex for Space Marines in sillier hats.

the first codex ever for a brand new faction is pretty big news.

You're not seriously suggesting that Eldar have been waiting 20 years for an update are you?
Warp Spiders have been sitting on their ancient, ugly models for over 20 years now. Not all of the faction goes back that far, but a lot of it goes back a lot further than it should.

This is a million times worse than that tbh. I'd take whining every day of the week over some smug...individual...telling people to shut up or get out over a very legitimate problem (marine burnout).

Point of argument, Custodes technically had a 'codex' in 7th alongside SoS.

Unless I missed something, you didn't really talk about the Hetareon type guys there.
Well seeing these are 40k custodians not surprising. Or did they say anything these would be getting 30k rules? Currently it looks like one way only ie in 40k you can use these and 30k models that will get rules but in 30k you can use only 30k models. And Hetareon's don't have model so they aren't likely getting 40k rules at least yet.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong: Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other. A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot. Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests. Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books. Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor. Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers. Orks do not have the power of believe.
No word of a lie, my three favourite 40k armies are Sisters of Battle, Inquisition and Vostroyans
Compared with them, I look with envious eyes at all of the Xenos armies with their multiple plastic kits.
What irks me about some Xenos players is their lumping of Imperium and Chaos into one big category of “power armour”. Until very recently, chaos was in far worse a position then many Xenos armies, with most of their kits just being bad. It’s only been the last year and a half of Thousand Sons and Death Guard releases that has made Chaos into a nice looking faction again.
Most of the complaining boils down to, yet another release that isn’t exactly what the complainer wanted. Maybe I should start complaining loudly about every release that isn’t a full range of plastic inquisition kits?
yeah but it's not for whatever faction they play. so.. the entitled will complain. they act like this is a suprise. the smart money's been on a custodes codex coming out in early 2018 since they teased the IC in october

A couple of things there - not being interested in a given release, and preferring that it had been something that you were interested in, doesn't constitute 'entitlement'.
And yes, the fact that GW are releasing a Custodes codex isn't a surprise. The surprise was that it was billed as a 'huge' and secret development.
Frankly, without the hype from the teaser release I suspect that the level of vitriol being aimed at it would be significantly less.
So Custodes were announced here alongside codex blue chaos becausr those are both small fish releases suitable for spoiling at an open day event, leaving the big fish announcements for LVO and Adepticon.
So here's my prediction; LVO announces the next 5 codexes to be Necrons, Tau, DE, a marine faction, and a curveball of some description. They'll also announce the next primarch, probably someone who has a devoted following who will be super pumped while everyone else thinks 'oh good, so glad I'll get to see that on Every. Single. Table. Forever. Now.'
Adepticon will be mostly AoS/Shadespire/Necromunda but will have a Deathguard esque teaser video for SoB that puts the entire SoB playerbase into cardiac arrest and with all the SoB players dead sales will slump and the naysayers will recieve the unearned, petty vindication they've always wanted.

‘Entitlement’ is probably the wrong word. The correct way to describe complaining that every release isn’t the particular release you wanted, would probably get this post moderated
Secondly, what hype? A single Facebook post the day before hardly constitutes hype and you know what? This is a big and welcome release for a lot of people. Some however, seem to be annoyed that it didn’t turn out to be whatever their wild and fevered imaginations thought it could be.

Don't be an idiot and actually read some of the thread. No one is complaining about the codex release schedule, we all know they'll all be out soon, it's the lack of models. And it's not 6 days into 2018, it's at least 15 months since Genestealer Cults, the last non power armoured super soldier release, and 27 since Tau. In that time we've had Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Primaris, Death Guard and now Custodes. The complete and total lack of variety is getting rather stiffling and overshadows what would probably have been an excellent release.
MonkeyBallistic wrote: What irks me about some Xenos players is their lumping of Imperium and Chaos into one big category of “power armour”.
What irks me is hypocrisy. You're irritated at xenos players lumping Imperium and Chaos into a category of "power armour" but you're quite happy to lump armies as diverse and distinct as Orks, Craftworld, Harlequins, Dark Eldar, Necrons, Tau, Tyranids and Tyranid Cults together?
Can a lot of you stop telling people how they should or shouldn't feel? Players have a right to be annoyed if they feel their faction isn't getting a fair share of resources. They have invested countless hours in to these things and have a passion for them. Expressing their anger, resentment, saltiness or whatever else you want to call it is (for some) a good way of clearing the air. Let those who are upset vent their frustrations, they'll get it out of their system and that'll be that. Just because you may be happy with this announcement, or perhaps don't care, it doesn't mean that every other player should feel that way and frankly all the accusations of things like "acting like children" or "shouting and screaming" are simply not true on Facebook and here.
It also highlights to GW the incredibly huge misstep that they have taken here. If GW don't know they've upset people, they will continue to do it and people will leave the hobby, which nobody wants. Hopefully this will be the last time (though I doubt it) that GW build up the hype so much only to release something that for many is not only underwhelming but also offensive. They quite literally couldn't have handled this worse and they have, in many ways, built a rod for their own back.
Orks used to be the second biggest army in terms of players after Space Marines.... All the dozends of game stores and tournaments I've been to hard LOADS of Ork players... no proper release early in the edition is just bad for making money.

I think one of the more telling bits was how Custodes have already been a big seller for GW. The switch over to 8th is a huge and expensive project. IIRC the last time an edition change totally invalidated all the existing books was 2nd to 3rd. So until the switch over is complete GW are probably going to focus there larger model releases on safe bets.

Firstly, I haven’t lumped all Xenos players together. People in this thread have called themselves that. I’m reacting to self labelled “Xenos players” filling threads with complaints.
Secondly, I’m not for one second telling people how they should feel. People can feel however they like. I’m talking about what people do. To be perfectly frank, I’d like to have a thread where people can discuss a new release without it being full of complaints about what it isn’t.
And finally, if you think a single post the day before is building up “hype so much” and you then find the release “offensive”, then I’m honestly lost for words.

You might want to read my post again there champ since only the first paragraph was aimed at you specifically (if it irks you that 'xenos' players lump power armoured dudes together, don't lump them together) and nowhere did I say that I found the release offensive.
Saying there's going to be a "HUGE" release that we just "wouldn't want to miss" isn't building up hype? Weird.

They have old sculpts, some of the oldest GW still make (along with a few Space Wolf characters). But that isn't even slightly similar to saying that Eldar haven't had any form of update over the past 20 years.
