Worst still some (and by that I mean a miniscule amount) have actually sold for that. My Asda had copies in this morning, they are not hard to miss as the backing card is huge.

I mean, clearly you haven't actually looked at his review. It's fairly comprehensive, detailing the contents of the magazine, and giving some generous pros and cons. Most of us probably don't need to have a review to convince us to purchase this magazine in the first place, but there's no need to be so detrimental to someone for doing so.

You're right, I haven't looked at it - as I've got the thing in front of me and don't particularly need a second opinion. It seemed like a weird thing to write a full review of, is all.

Well after ordering 3 last night online my local smiths in Yeovil has a box full this morning so the wife’s picked up another copy so that gives me some more guys to add to squads.
Can’t wait to start chopping them up to see what I can do to them.

His review is of the first issue but in comparison to the series as a whole and is a comprehensive review not just of this first issue but highlights issues with Hachette and the subscription process.
It's a good review and highlights what many of us suspect - that experienced gamers will snap up several copies each at this bargain price but then won't bother with later issues.
It's actually a good article.

Primaris ones go for £22.50 in store. Or £7.99 here. No brainer!

And to be fair to the reviewer in question he quickly edited a mistake about monthly subscription cost when I pointed out to him it was £32 (well £31.96) rather than £36 a month .
I do wonder if each of the boards in the upgraded subscription is Moon Base Klaisus size (4 foot by 4 foot odd) or another size? That kind of information would help consumers to decide whether to upgrade or not.

I suspect the premium boards may be from the Killzone terrain boxes. One side aligns to make a larger 2x2 board.

Also worth noting that with the second deliveries I think there has been a running change, the brushes I saw in-store today all had the little plastic tubes over the bristles whilst the ones I received from Forbidden Planet did not.

Oh great. They are all re-stocking now that I've ordered mine online and will have to wait up to 28 days for delivery.
Looks like my luck is holding up as usual...
If I'm lucky, the extra 4 I ordered may come much sooner.

I mean, the review isn’t for you. Who reads reviews of something they’ve got.
But then again, why comment at all, just to Troll..
It’s a review of Warhammer Conquest a new monthly subscription, do you take it out, what’s the content, is it worth it, beginners only etc. All that kind of thing.
He didn’t say he reviewed “3 space marines and 3 pots of paint” as you put it.

Expressing a bit of surprise / bafflement isn't really trolling, and if it isn't aimed at me why link it on here - who is reading this thread that isn't already familiar with the thing by this point?
>He didn’t say he reviewed “3 space marines and 3 pots of paint” as you put it.
He pretty much literally did say that:
"I wrote a review if anyone wants more details on what this is like before splashing out the £1.99"
Anyhew, like I said, it seemed weird, I understand now he's gone into it a bit more, problem solved. Let it go

Reference the premium option, the new email makes it clear that the current picture is the first of four sets. The second set will be revealed soon.
For only £1.50 extra per issue, you'll get 4 Premium Wargear sets across the course of your collection to enhance your gameplay including exclusive fold-out gaming boards, dice, reference cards and more! Here's the first set - set 2 will be revealed soon!
It's still a gamble but at least we know there is more than just what we've seen so far. Shame the hachette staff on Facebook and so have seemed incapable of giving a full explanation so far.
Additionally, from Facebook:
We know you’re eager to get your first delivery so here's an update for you...
If you subscribed before 5pm today (31st August), your issues 01 and 02 will be allocated this weekend and you should receive them around next weekend.
If you were a test subscriber, your issues 01 and 02 were allocated last weekend and you can expect to receive them by Monday / Tuesday of next week.
We hope you enjoy your collection when it comes!

Way too much of a gamble for Premium imho. And yeah the staff aren’t helpful at all, I emailed querying various things, dates of issue, when bits will arrive lots of stuff. They answered just saying 1&2 will come together and 3-6 following.
Not even a question I asked
Ah so should get Mon/Tues hopefully. So wasn’t posted last weekend, but allocated. Despite what they’d mentioned to others about post.

Calling in is exceptionally frustrating. The lines/headsets/somethings?? are of terrible quality, and it's extremely hard to understand what the staff are saying. I had received an email telling me that I'd get three free issues for being a test subscriber, but I never received the follow-up email asking me for my payment details.
It was extremely difficult to get this idea through to the people on the phone because they didn't know about the test period at all, and subscriber numbers from the test period are in a different format to the current subscriber numbers (because of course they are!). None of my data was in their systems and I went to a second-level service agent to finally (hopefully) secure my first delivery. I still don't know if I'll get anything and I haven't received the promised email follow-up to the call.

Nope, nothing.
Most of what the reps said sounded like it was being read off a script. The script told the lady to tell me I'd have her name and she'd send me an email - in the end I got neither (I probably wouldn't have understood the name if she had said it, the line was so bad).
At least I know she got my mailing address right so there's hope.

You create a new Hatchette account, and then add your subscription number to it. Then you add your payment details to that.

It took a few days after I received the subscription number for the Hachette website to accept it. And then at least a day for the payment details to appear once it let me enter those.

So bought my first set on multi part primaris the other day and now have the marines from four issues. Well one sprue until the other three copies i ordered turn up.
Now my 6 yr old lad wants a sprue to him self, conveniently they are blue and that just happens to be his favourite colour.
He’s already asking if there’s any spare tanks in the loft he can have. Hhhm really shouldn’t have taken him to warhammer world last Easter. Since then all he’s wanted is marines, the wife’s been rolling here eyes since. Lol
