No, the Yoga Sothoth expansion is included in the Unspeakable box add on in the KS.

Only things you must get from retail are Season 1, Season 2, and the Black Goat expansion.

I still miss Jason Hendrick's hand-sculpted creature contributions from earlier in CMON's history; it seems like they've gone completely digital now. In an ideal world, publishers would draw on the strengths of both traditional and digital sculpting rather than simply replacing one with the other. Ah well.

That said, I'm not a purist, and looking over Fear of the Unknown's creatures, there are some particularly good digital sculpts in there. Don't think I'll be buying into the KS, but I could see ebaying a few later on. I particularly like the Gug (though it would be nice if it opened it's mouth wider so it didn't look like it was biting its own tongue,) and I give the sculptor credit for a creative take on the Color out of Space, which can't be easy to design well. Integrating the mutated family from Lovecraft's story was a nice touch.* (It won't be easy to paint well, either. I look forward to seeing how different hobbyists attempt to simulate its otherworldly colors completely unknown to the human eye. In addition to the creative successes to come, if someone just punts and paints it flat orange or something, I'll get a kick out of that, too.)

Ithaqua's sculpt is a good Wendigo interpretation too, but in my opinion Hendrick's Wendigo sculpt for the Wild Western Zombicide still beats it. I give props to both sculptors for incorporating the idea of wind into their models, more challenging than just doing a werewolf with a deer-skull head.

Also, the one-legged pterodactyl thing is awesome.

I'm curious to know which creature models in this DMD expansion you guys are particularly excited for.

*Come to think of it, it's been a long time since I read that story, but did they mutate, or was that just in the Nicholas Cage movie? In the original tale, I think they may have just crumbled away to dust after being drained of their life essence by the Color?

I really like all the sculpts, but I'd say my favorites so far are the sculpts for Keziah Mason, the Gyaa-Yothn, and Hypnos.

I think the sculpt I'll get the most use out of is the Serpent Men. They look like they will be a good match with the serpent men sculpts from Conan (as is fitting since they share mythos)

I think all the Lost Episode sculpts are great, and also the Lost episodes themselves really show the difference in approach to this campaign on CMON's part. There's such a difference between having fun with the IP or being irreverent with the IP, and just having no regard or respect for the IP. Having a lazily condescending attitude, and a lack of professionalism.

Here they actually used their budget to bring in Lovecraft stories and make cool sculpts of characters that actually mean something, instead of getting confused about who Yog Sothoth is because the Wikipedia page could have been clearer.

Season 4 really looks great. I like everything so much I might have to double up on everything except Ryleh

It is a great game (on many top ten lists of YouTube boardgame folks) with incredible miniatures. Well worth it if you are on the fence.

If you're a Lovecraft fan this is a great collection of minis. It's definitely worth the $100+ fees, as the KS exclusive content is pretty balla.

Picked up the S1 (and S2) core sets to try out before going in on the PM if we like it. I do have to ask, though - why doubling up? It doesn't appear to be like Zombicide where you can just throw the extra zombies in...

Sort of. While HPL provided almost no description of his critters, Chaosium's Call of Cthulhu RPG and collectible game (anyone remember Mythos? No?) defined the "classic" look up until midway through Cthulhu Wars. S1 and S2 have the most popular Old Ones, but I found the sculpts too different from the "classic" look. This KS has many popular minions, that look closer to "classic". Still, Chaosium's interpretation is conventional more than canon, and DMD is currently the best and least expensive way to get a batch of well-sculpted Mythos miniatures and Victorian investigators.

As said earlier, the game mechanics have nothing to do with HPL's brooding discovering of madness. Thematically, DMD is more like the Final Act of Arkham Horror, or FFG's Final Fight or whatever that forgettable Cthulhu game was called.

Just received Zombicide Undead or Alive pledge yesterday, and there's people saying the base game is now on store shelves.

It's a big honkin' pile of very pretty plastic. Good detail on the figs, most won't even need hot water treatment. Regretting not picking up the Running Wild set, hopefully grab it off ebay before it gets crazy expensive, but if you're looking for Old West figs, it's a solid way to get them.

Anyone heard anything on either the Zombicide Thundercats or Batman sets? They're both feeling overdue at this stage.

Looks like they've slipped alright - originally both were 2022 releases - direct to retail. Army of the Dead and Rio Ze Janeiro are also retail releases and they've gone very quiet too.

They still have 3 other sets to produce - The Boys, Supernatural and Iron Maiden as well as Marvel Zombies and with China manufacturing issues it's not surprising they've been pushed back

I guess it's essentally the same thing as a pre-order with CMON's smaller "set" campaigns like the comics. This way they can remove the KS cut from the equation as well as cut the discount. I wonder if they'll offer a reprint of the first one, especially after re-offering all the KS Exclusive CMD stuff in the recent campaign.

It'd be nice if they actually fething shipped some of these pre-orders, though...

Cthulhu may die has had poor selection of miniatures with the graphic novels twice now. At least it looks like there is an enemy figure this time around rather than only heroes.

Still has less than half of the contents of the Black Plague book figure set.

CMON knows that nobody buys Cthulhu games for the monster minis.

Just seen that the CDMD book does come with two lost episode boxes as well which are not pictured (assuming they are just missions / cards rather than new monsters but still better than what’s pictured).
