Weird - Knight Models lost their Marvel license when they started producing DC miniatures, Disney/Marvel didn't like the potential for cross-compatibility. Wonder how that will work with CMON.

Given that Marvel Zombies is a separate game from 2.0 (which has some DC stuff) I imagine that DCeased will be a separate game as well that may allow the Dark Knights stuff to cross over into it.

I don't foresee any issues given that Wizkids has had Marvel and DC minis in the same game for a LOOOOONG time.

That's true. Hm, wonder why they pitched a fit at knight models then.

Hadn't heard about that but Knight Models did acquire a license for a game of thrones wargame based off the TV show earlier this year via Warner. CMoN has their game via Darksword Minis and just covers the books.

If this is in line with Marvel Zombies size-wise (as opposed to the all over the place scaling of Masters of the Universe), then we can tag this in with Monolith's Gotham Chronicles models and I'll just admit now that there's no way in hell I'm ever going to have the entire horde painted.

I never knew that DC did their own zombie thing. I peripherally followed the Marvel Zombies trend for a while buying trade paperbacks but not any deeper than that. I probably should have known they jumped onto the same TWD/zombie trend during that era though apparently.

DCeased is a recent comic run, within the last couple years, far after the TWD/Zombie train had run it's course.

I think they did Blackest Night during the Marvel Zombie run which was pretty good and different take on the concept.

That makes it even stranger then to me. Regardless, I appreciate the correction.

I guess it gives them a platform/sub-IP to do anything they like with DC Zombies afterwards.

Short comic run = instant alternate universe for future IP sales and such including everything in DC estabished to date.

Yeah the run came out shortly before covid to9k the world by storm.
Maybe middle of 2019.
It was good I will say.
I’m looking at this with interest definitely

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

SHINALL IS THE LEAD DESIGNER?

This seriously hampers my excitement for the game. If it wasn't DC i'd automatically stop caring.

For me, that is actually a plus. He designed the newer edition of Dark Age and Wrath of Kings, and I still play those regularly. Granted, this is Zombicide, so there is relatively little room for actual design or development...just fitting the units into the appropriate boxes.

Now, all I need is a Blackest Night (and maybe Brightest Day) expansion to go with this and I'm good.

Urusei Yatsura, Cerebus the Aardvark, Machiavelli, Plato and Happy Days. So, how was your childhood?

I'l probably get a base pledge for the KS exclusives, but more "play as zombie-heroes" content limits any potential it has for me. I still haven't played my Marvel Zombies, waiting for X-Men Resistance and all the other wave 2 to ship (which is so very, very close). I want to play as the heroes vs villains or vs zombies or vs zombie-villains. I do not care at all about playing as the zombies.

It's also DC, which I do enjoy but not nearly so much as Marvel.

This got me thinking...aside from the aforementioned Green Lantern inspired theoretical expansions, these are the teams/groups that I would most like to see outside of the usual suspects:

New Gods
Doom Patrol
Brotherhood of Dada
Metal Men
Omega Men
Atomic Knights
Trenchcoat Brigade

These are also highly unlikely additions, but it is fun to speculate.

I mean, it's a Dev Diary. They've already reversed the status of the two main DC heroes despite whatever the comics said - no doubt to make the boxed set more appealing (people love Batman more than Supes). I fully expect the Kickstarter to follow the Marvel Zombies/X-Men Resistance template pretty closely with both hero and Villain play and be *pretty* compatible with Marvel Zombies - right down to a cut-down, mass market version where you play as the heroes.

Ultimately, it's still just more Zombicide. It doesn't take much to make the different versions compatible and that Batman Hero card shows it. If there's some gear cards mixed in with the regular hero powerups I don't see it as changing the game fundamentally - or at least not as fundamentally as the addition of the Concrete Saw, the .44 Magnum and the Hollow-Point Rounds did to old-school 2st ed Zombicide...

Just did my Modred pledge manager and it's around $50 for an all in + art book for shipping in the US for those that might be interested.

Dev diary 2 - these aren't giving much away - "zombies" are LexCorp security themed. There's renders of "zombie" Superman and Wonder Woman on facebook, WW pose isn't great.

so confirmation that like Marvels Zombies DCeased will have a stripped down retail only version and there's no 2 wave shipping this time as the retail version takes the place of the KS version for non-backers.

We are happy to announce that, as it has been done in previous projects, DCeased - A Zombicide Game will also have a direct-to-retail/mass market version, a modified core box with a streamlined scope intended for more casual players.
This box will not be offered on the Kickstarter and is expected to hit retail before pledges are shipped out, in lieu of 2-Wave shipping. Stay tuned for more details about this box in the upcoming months!
