Its 12 minis ... you missed the Little Birds probably

I think I read the "10 cards" and messed it up.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
A lot of the art seems to be inspired by the HBO show...

Personal wishlist...
* Lyanna Mormont closer to the HBO version. Leather armor... sword...
With a Mormont faction box.
* Rhaenyra Targaryen that looks like Milly Alcock.
With some more generic Targ troops
* Knights of the Vale
* Greyjoy Ship tile

All of those would be great. I'm hoping they do a House Aryn faction next for ASOIAF TMG.

Daily update is up and the main theme/content is a Brotherhood add on... I really like Geralt...I mean Thoros of Myr!

https://gamefound.com/en/projects/cmon/a-song-of-ice-fire-tactics/updates/10

Ygritte gets a model as well and I'm cool with that but admittedly I'm biased. I was just converting a spearwife last night as my second ever ASOIAF model.

Well....I like everything so far... and am bored with the crwod funding campaign... but i think I will stay in and just get the basic level with stretch goals pledge and maybe get some addons in the pledge manager. Me adding stuff now doesnt contribute to stretch goals so it really doesnt matter either way at this point.

Regarding the crowdfunding, the add on seems priced like normal boxes at full retail price. The core $80 pledge has savings since you're getting two boxes and, admittedly, CMON's retail pricing is very affordable compared with GW and other companies but it looks like full retail pricing on the add ons (plus shipping later). Other than the dragon and the Wall box so far, the rest should be available at retail, correct? I'd guess that you'd get the other stuff earlier than folks waiting for retail so there is that. I'm not really interested in the main Trident box personally so I'm really on the fence for this at the moment since I'll be able to get the add ons (or more likely) single figs later on.

Yeah I'm on the same boat as you. I think I can get everything at retail later probably cheaper (the shipping cost is too much). The only 2 things that I can't get are the Dragon and the Wall box. I don't want the dragon and the Wall is locked behind Trident.
Basically they have 3 VS boxes (Trident, Wall, Riverlands) but no matter what you want you have to buy the Trident and since I want the Wall I have to back the campaign and hope I can sell the Trident later.
Maybe they will reveal something other than the Wall in the stretch goals.

I'm just in for the 80$ pledge at the moment, even with the high shipping (well shipping anything is expensive these days, but that's a different story), I still feel the two boxes and the terrain box for Beneath the Wall are pretty good value. I really like the Trident box, and am kind of meh on the Beneath the Wall Box, though I am warming up to it because the sculpts in it look like they have a lot of character.

I'll probably just stay where I am at unless they add a Greyjoy set, Bolton set, or some expansions to the Baratheons or Targs.

Does CMON traditionally allow local pickup if you're close to their US location?

edit: I always thought they were a US company but it turns out they're listed on the Hong Kong/Chinese stock exchange and headquartered in Singapore instead.

Doubtful everything is packed up in China then sent to hubs for onward shipping to backers it probably never gets near CMON other than the samples and even then they have a Singapore and Hong Kong office for that now.

Same. I am not really in to the Beneath the Wall set, but the minis look cool. I like the Riverlands set... and wouldnt mind Shadows and the Without Banners guys. So maybe will add during the PM... I actually would rather have the Riverlands set than Either the Trident or beneath the Wall...For tMG I collect Neutrals, Lannisters and Baratheons. Though I like the Tullys from Stark and the Mormonts from Stark as well. Still never played a game of tMG...

The 80$ pledge seems to be the best option if you don't want the dragon. You get one box you want for 60$ and another you don't want for 20$. If you just want the Riverlands it's better to wait for retail.
It would have been a lot better if they had a pledge for 1 VS box of your choosing instead of having to buy Trident.
Especially if you consider that there is already a bigger version of this game (kinda) so people already have chosen an army and they probably want to buy more minis of the same army.
It's bad enough that you have to buy at least 2 armies because of the VS boxes. If you are a Night's watch player or a Free folk player you have to buy miniatures for 4 different armies to get minis for the army you like.

Yeah. I can use the Baratheons from Trident... and I really do like the Targs... so its not a big waste. The FF and Night's watch though are kind of wasted on me... but the extra tiles and terrain are still valuable... and the minis wont go to waste... But yeah.. If we could pick a main set, I would choose the Riverlands... and take the Trident as the free one...

This one has put me in a bit of a quandary. Have an absolute mountain of ASOIAFMG stuff sat untouched in boxes and little real drive to play the game itself. Some of the sculpts in Tactics though... that Roose Bolton could get me backing by itself and the Brotherhood look great. May have to downsize the main game substantially and cherry pick here.

As an aside; how have CMON managed to design three different versions of Ned Stark to date and still not given him Ice? Appreciate that it might not necessarily be the most practical weapon for day to day use but it's not like those sculpts are exactly dripping in realism.

Yeah, it seems pretty strange to me you have to get The Trident Set and the Beneath the Wall set as the stretch goal. It would make more sense to me to just be able to select two 2-faction boxes, or at the very least be able to select a one that is a starter set (including tokens and what not like Trident and Riverlands). Especially as I don't think they have started mass production and are probably doing the Gamefound as a way to gauge how many of each set to produce.

Probably would get more people pledging that way.

It is also weird making the Beneath the Wall a crowdfunding exclusive set. Surely that would be one of the more popular sets at retail?

Well, that should mean being able to sell it in a year at a profit... Not that I will as I am kind of a hoarder... and I like the Ygritte model.

They are. fwiw, In the past, some add-ons NOT marked as KSE's didn't make it to market (Massive Darkness Elementals, which I think CMON did eventually bring to retail or something). But, with this being ASOIF, I'd expect the popular boxes to make retail. Also, fwiw, Canada seems to get the worst of KS, with very high shipping costs from the USA.

> Does CMON traditionally allow local pickup if you're close to their US location?

As doubted (: no. Again, fwiw, not that I watch all KS, but I'm not seeing nowadays local pickups or convention pickups of KS rewards. Reaper's not doing it anymore.

> It would make more sense to me to just be able to select two 2-faction boxes,

Random guess is that it reduces packing errors if everyone first gets the same two faction boxes. :/ Again, as said earlier with Zombicide Invader, you had to get the Zombicide Invader base set, and couldn't choose the Zombicide : Dark Side standalone set instead.

> It is also weird making the Beneath the Wall a crowdfunding exclusive set. Surely that would be one of the more popular sets at retail?

Not that I'm disagreeing, but, IIRC, in the ASOIF KS, CMON had KSE's for some popular characters, yet I haven't read in this thread anyone upset that they couldn't get them retail?

Well, whatever. Good to see interest in ASOIF, a "lifestyle" game that's alive and well, and CMON didn't use KS to continuously release stuff. Meanwhile, my Wrath of Kings boxed sets also remain unpainted...

As someone who has only gotten into the figures relatively recently, a good amount of the kickstarter exclusives (especially the generic ones that aren't named characters) are available for purchase as singles at very reasonable prices. Admittedly, I only started looking 5-6 years after the original crowdfunding ended so I can't comment as to their availability nor can I say with any certainty that the same will happen with these products... but I think I'm leaning towards that method to aquiring what I want and hope it will be so.

I am expecting another big box expansion today and (if keeping to 5 kings era) my guess would be a Siege of Moat Cailin themed box so that they can cover both Boston and Greyjoy.

That would leave only Martell as the only faction without Skirmish specific models.

I agree that even if you did The Battle of the Trident as your primary box, letting people pick a second box free would probably have tipped the scales for more people. Getting that agency to pick what you want as your stretch goals just sounds better. They probably just weren't thinking outside the box though, and wanted to do stretch goal reveals to unlock a bonus box set as they have done with other campaigns in the past. Normally the box sets aren't so interchangeable though, and they missed an opportunity to be cool.
