To be fair, He'd fit the Orky fighting theme perfectly. You'd really just be adding a bunch of Ork sex to a decent Ork codex. I'll take that trade-off

Sush your face! We do not want GW to rfigure this out and change their name so it's kid friendly *cough* I mean. You're obviously wrong! The Nobz is short for nobility and is really innocent. Nothing to see here boyz.

In a galaxy as vast as 40k I'm sure at least 1 person has had sex with an Ork... probably a Eldar. Those Panzees females beg for a real partner.

I want it on record that it took this thread about five whole minutes after going to general discussion to start talking about ork erotica.

It is though. Dated and fallen from general use, but most definitely still valid slang for Noble.

It’s also where the term hobnobbing (mixing socially with those of a higher class) has its origin.

You can also derive Nob as a person of wealth/importance from Nabob and anglo indian term that came into use during the days of the British Empire

It was shortened to Nob both in Britain and America (where it provides the name of San Francisco's Nob Hill the place where movers and shakers of the time build their new mansions)

Vigo. Spain.

In spanish it is translated as "Noblez" that means... "Noble", buth orkicided with a Z instead of a S. So or the genitalia double meaning was lost with traslation, or...

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Actually, it is. Nob Hill in San Fransisco is short for Nobility Hill, the part of town that used to be for the rich people.

Sorry to be crass but it really does depend on who you call a nob, some fella in the street and you looking to get a swift punch to the noggin, I still hear “posh nobs” all the time and it it’s usually referring to officers, also Ruperts and other colourful names.

So yes it’s still used in the correct context, most of us just aren’t upper crust enough to hear it.

Strong enough psychic powers have been proven to work in the presence of blanks before... see Malcador flinging spells while standing next to a Sister of Silence. Blanks are simply not effected by the spells themselves, and emit a "field" that nullifies weaker warpcraft in a small radius. Jurgen had to actually touch the greater daemon before she was effected, and before he did she was shrugging off melta blasts and warping reality like it was nobody's business even though Jurgen was standing 10 feet from her..

I would say the Ork psychic gestalt is strong enough to override the presence of one blank.

In the example you gave, Felicia the techpriest said that the Ork vehicles and weapons shouldn't be working at all and she had no idea how they were running. This actually proves in my mind that the psychic consciousness of all of the combined orks on the planet were keeping these things running.

Alternatively: Felicia, being a techpriest, has been trained extensively by her superiors that anything built outside of the STC is blasphemous, believes that incredibly mystic rituals to be necessary to perform what we the audience recognize as simple tasks, ans is steeped in a culture that encourages keeping others ignorant of the in-workings of technology to justify their own existence. Much more likely, Felicia is lying because she doesn't want to admit ork technology work (if roughly).

Apparently the Nob for Nob Hill was taken from 'Nabobs' - 'This included prominent tycoons such as Leland Stanford, founder of Stanford University and other members of The Big Four. These early citizens were known as nabobs, a term for prominent and wealthy men. This was shortened to nob, probably the origin of the area's eventual name.'

Does it really matter? They're plastic toys named after a male genital and we all know that's the real reason they're called that. any argument against that destroys the only real thing about Orks and that's that humans are great at using one word to say something is innocent when really it's a dirty joke... just like everything the British name.

Posted on another forum by someone who has made several correct predictions so far this year:

Gorkamorka is definitely coming but I don't know in what form. Expect more "a box set with the new ork models in a bundle with a one-off ruleset to use them with" than anything more serious.

Except that interpretation of Felicia is probably incorrect due to her ability to repair the ork vehicles when they broke down, and her own willingness to modify STC technology to suit her. (she rigs a power lifter sentinel with a heavy flamer and a unique trigger mechanism).

It is also outright stated many times in other parts of the lore that ork technology stops working depending on the distance from large concentrations of orks.

Why? There's nothing wrong with a cheeky meme and it let's GW know we're still here, waiting.
