Remember in the original cartoon when people loved that ARC trooper assault on the Seperatist stronghold? Let's do that again! But with comedy!

For me it doesn't exist. None of the prequels, or the sequels do. I'm not happy with the overall structure of the Clone Wars (the conflict), but the cartoon is okay, and I accept it as making the best of bad decisions elsewhere.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

Well, we've had Disney+ for 5 days over here, so obviously I hit the two episodes of the Mandolorian that are available.
I semi-forgot about the Clone Wars, but decided to give the first episode a go last night; this rapidly descended into me binging on all the episodes that we've got here, so far.
The Bad Batch story arc was the one that I was least looking forward to. A bunch of "we don't take orders from nobody" misfits just being jerks was what I was expecting, but I loved them! Sure, there was humour and antagonism, but it wasn't overdone. Whenever I thought that the car was going to drive off the Cliff of Annoyance, it did a 90 degree turn to get back onto Amusing Street.

I started watching the new episodes with The Boy, but paused due to not seeing him due the quarantine. I think we got through 3 of them. While good, they struck me as Clone Wars In Name Only. The whole point/premise of the Clone Wars is the fact that all the clones are only minor deviations from the core clone stock. The new episodes struck me as Team Fortress: now with Jedi. Your basic clones were replaced with the Heavy, Spy, Engineer, etc.
I enjoyed the ones we saw, but had problems wrapping my head around them as part of the series. The Boy loved them, but TF was old news before he was born.
So I'm guessing the lack of any real activity means people either aren't watching or aren't affected either positively or negatively enough to be moved to post, but I just watched Ep9 and it's some of the best Star Wars I've consumed in years. Possibly better than anything in Mando, but it's close.

I watched it last night and I also thought that it was some of the best Star Wars ever.
I can't imagine people having much to say about the previous story arc; with the exception of one or two points of setup for the final arc, it was a very average story. Not bad, by any means, just not awesome.
The latest episode, though, was amazing. The interplay of the characters was great, even to the point of thinking that Anakin didn't look like he'd need much of a push to send him off the rails; this makes his fall in Episode 3 seem less abrupt and more tragic for it.
Seeing Asoka in action again was great and I loved the way the initial battle had parallels to the battle of Crystophus (sp?) in The Clone Wars movie.
Yeah it was weird that they missed that detail, seemed a little odd.
Great episode though, I feel like this arc is going to be a great way to round off the series, provided that this is the end of TCW which I still doubt. Nothing is stopping them from producing a few episodes here and there to keep people on D+, there are still some really interesting Clone Wars stories that I would love to see animated!
It's been pretty meh so far, but Ep 9 was certainly great. Anakin casually dodging blaster fire out of cover was pretty perfect, and that ending animation was spectacular. Part of me kind of hopes they'll just keep going and redo Ep 3 entirely, but that's just wishful thinking.

My opinion as well. Not necessarily because earlier episodes were bad. They were good, but they weren't the final season I'd have preferred. I kind of wish the plot that started in episode 5 had been the first episode of the season so greater prominence could have been placed on wrapping up the stories of the series characters. But maybe those first four episodes will round back by the end and I'll have a higher opinion of them by the end (Or maybe I'm just that pessimistic about Star Wars now). It looks like the series is going to close concurrently with the events of Order 66 and Revenge of the Sith to me.

Yeah, Clone wars Lightsaaber fighter where always iffy because of the Animation. Where blades seemed to be like, magnetically atracted to one another.
But this one felt like it was out of SWTOR trailers.
Season 7 of Clone Wars has been absolute hot garbage. It started well with that first Bad Batch episode, but pretty much devolved into a series of fights that had no stakes, and a potential Manchurian Candidate-esque twist that never went anywhere. And the less said about the wasted middle 4 episodes the better. Absolute drek.
But these last two are saving it. The Siege of Mandalore was always something that was hinted at when Clone Wars was cancelled by Disney (in their "infinite" wisdom), so much so that we got comics leading up to it, and a novel based on upon the script at the time. It's nice to see everything in action, and the "meta knowledge" ticking clock that is the inevitable Order 66 makes it even more exciting.
Because it was mo-capped. And not mo-capped by just anyone mind you, by Ray Park himself. The lightsabre fight felt different because it was different. They put a significant amount of effort into making that one a Big Deal™.
11 or so minutes in, and this is wonderful. Like, genuinely wonderful.
It plays up what we as the audience know is bound to happen, whilst stay maintaining suspense. That’s no mean feat!
I’m gonna be sad when it’s over, because that’ll be it. No more new stories - at least, not without doing ‘lost tales’ type specials (which I’d welcome).

Head Canon? No longer an anointed Knight/Palawan, she’s unsure of her authority?
I mean, a Soldier or Police Officer, whilst on duty, is one thing. But if chilling in the pub? Quite another.
I mean, my assumption was;
Spoiler:
That Ashoka would be forced to watch Rex and the clones kill a Jedi, but that she herself would not be attacked because she's a 'citizen.' The episode was good but man I think that would have been so much more gut wrenching.
That was of course kind of intimated during the episode. The whole ‘not as a Jedi’ and ‘this is Council business, Citizen’ thing. Which was a really cool touch. It genuinely left me wondering if it was a hint Ahsoka wouldn’t even be targeted
But this is still turning into a hell of a send off.
As others have said, the middle block didn’t quite work. I mean, it’s fairly standard Clone Wars fare. But for the super duper ‘never thought we’d get this’ final season? Whilst enjoyable and quality, still seem a bit of a waste.

It's got nothing to do with Ahsoka really. The heroes rarely kill people directly in these cartoons, and haven't been since the latter half of Rebels.
They swing their sabres around a lot, but they don't ever hit people. They hit guns, backpacks, doors (and droids, but droids aren't alive so who cares?), but never people. They rarely shoot people. They so often knock enemies out instead. It's bizarre.

Says something that a show ostensibly for children takes more creative risks and lands them far more regularly than the blockbuster movies it is based on.
As for not hitting people, in this specific instance she has the excuse that they're her friends and she's trying not to hurt them even though they're trying to kill her.

They've managed to give a character I originally found intensely irritating a more emotional Order 66 moment than any of the movie Jedi. That was intense.
The fact that you knew it was coming, and they did so much work building up to it with the moody music certainly helped, as did Rex's clear reluctance to follow his orders.
Ultimately, I'm glad they went that route instead of the original 'Nah, she's safe because she's not a Jedi anymore' explanation... there's no way Sidious would have left former Jedi running around to potentially get in the way of his plans.
And Maul's hallway fight is epic. I also spent a decent chunk of this episode just admiring the animation. Almost photorealistic in places, aside from the character stylisation. And the bendy armour, which they've never quite got away from...

That is definitely worth all agreeing a time to watch it.
Pretty sure they go up around 9am UK time, so with that as a base, hopefully we can work something out.

Don’t want to say anymore due to spoilers, but wow!
I’m actually kind of glad Clone Wars ended this way, where we know what comes after. Yet, I reckon if you were new to Clone Wars and Rebels, and watched them in chronological order, you’d be hard pressed to tell this was a late addition to CW.
This is why Dave Filoni needs to be more involved in SW. Its abundantly clear to me that when he wrote CW, he had a game plan, a specific tale to weave. And when Rebels came up, he had this last, as then unmade season in mind.
This guy is SW’s Kevin Feige, in my opinion.

Very effective finale. I liked the solemn nature of that final dialogue-less scene.
I'm happy with that ending. We know what happens next with the galaxy, and all that's really left to tell is how Ahsoka came to be 'Fulcrum' for the burgeoning Rebel Alliance, and how Wolf and Gregor ended up with Rex.
Fantastic end to the series, really top notch. I am glad that they didn't feel it was necessary to tie up every single loose end and left some things a mystery.
