Subject: [Adeptus Titanicus] Report on your AT Projects!
It'll just be nice to have a warhound that sorta stands out from my other two, I might try equipping the body with ablative ceramite armour from the ryza book so its a bit more resilient.
Indeed, as a different paint job can only stretch so far.
Yeah I have that problem with my warhounds, I try to differentiate by inverting the weaponry but I sometimes screw up and adjust the wrong warhound's command terminal. I gotta label those things eventually.
this is my problem as well

Naming your engines is always helpful. I have names on the bases and little paper scrolls on the terminals, as well as equipping similar engines in inverted arms. Varying flags, banners, arranging terminals by maniples and such also makes it easier to remember who goes where.

Yeah flags/banners seems like a good idea. I've been arranging my maniple, definitely gonna label the command terminals.
Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

Props for both the Warlord and for the Yes Minister reference!
Crablezworth - nice to see a Lucius hound, I look forward to seeing it painted.
Since last posting, I've painted a pair of Porphyrions for my House Lakar -
And I've got a pair of Warlords that are most of the way towards being ready to join Legio Metalica. The armour panels are just blu-tacked on in that photo, and still needs decals, weathering and basing. I've paused the Warlords at that point because I've got two more to do, and I'd like to get the other two to the same state so that I can mix and match between 4 warlords' worth of panels when I'm picking the combinations to glue them in. That's mainly motivated because I feel it gives me a better chance of coming up with at least one combination that I love that I can use as the template for my full size Warlord. I also need to pick up at least one Warlord gatling blaster because I've got the full size version so I need one if I want one of the little warlords to match the big one.
Very nice, I love the race car look on the knights. As a bit of an oddity though, are their bases finished? It looks like they're weathered darker, but stride on a very light coloured sand, which clashes a bit.

Thanks. The bases, I'm a little bit undecided as to whether darken them slightly with a wash. The main weathering powder is about the same tone as the basing material, but I've included a bit of rust pigment as well that I think has darkened it somewhat. So yeah, I may wash the base and possibly go over with some more of the lighter powder, since the varnish dialled it back a bit from where I had it.
Got burned out completely over a year ago, got rid of my unfinished titans. Thought i would try a new but this time whit a knight household, but what knights to add in what loadout?
If i understand the rules right i have to have the same loadout so, whatworks agasint titans and waht works agasint knights?
(and yes i will be adding 1 warhound and 1 acastus as support units)

In a Lance, knights have to have identical armament within a single Banner. As the Lance Banners have to move pretty close to each other, you're better off equipping all models in a Lance for a similar duty because of positioning and the ease of giving similar Orders to whole Lances at a time.
Knights in general are more dangerous in melee range. Cerastus lancers are a safe bet for quick assault units that can bring the pain when they connect, but Questoris groups with thermal cannons are also pretty nasty if they get close to you. It is also worth mentioning that Household armies will be swimming in stratagems, but they are weaker than what titan legios get.
You might want to test various setups out, but a suicidal rush to melee is a good starting point against both knights and titans. Just expect to die all day long, both on the way in as well as under the foes you manage to fell

Yea i expect that.
So, 2 cerastus and 1 questoris lance sounds as a fair start point?
I see there is 2 version of cerstus now, any one better then the other or is its personal preference?

I would consider carefully when going with households. Here's some tips...
1) Lances are essentially a super-banner made up of 3 banners. In a nutshell these banners move together as one, and need to be within 6" of each other. Due to their speed differences its best to have all three banners the same type - ex. 3 banners of Questoris.
2) You can only take Questoris or Cerastus as part of a lance. Acastus are support only, and can only take one banner per lance.
3) All knights in a banner must be equiped the same. Example; 3 Questoris with each Avenger cannons and melee weapon. You may choose whatever upgrades you like.
4) Your primary lance must be led by the Senechal. The knights under his banner may choose different weapons but will not be able to use the coordinated strike order.
5) You can take both freeblade knights and titans as support. You have it nailed by the looks of things.
...given the time again, I would have gone with a lance of cerastus instead of questoris. In the long run they are cheaper, no mucking around with loadouts and play to the strengths of knights - striking fast and hard, before being blown to pieces by heavy artilary weapons. The Castigator bolt cannon could be better but is still effective for stripping void shields, but don't bother with them as support.
Hope this helps.

Only under Coordinated Fire, mind. Normally their Str 3 cannot hurt voids at all.
Castigators and Avenger armed Questorii are interesting in that they are a bit clunkier to use because of the initial hurdle of getting above Str 3, but can do a number on an injured machine later on (or by sneaking under them shields from behind).

Its worth clarifying at this point that the coordinated fire order is only available to lance banners.
They are indeed good for outflanking titans, but the challenge is getting them that far. That said, if smaller titans such as the Armiger are introduced then I would assume they would inflict horrendous losses on them.

I feel like horus or the dark mechanicum want whats inside the pyramid real bad.
Speaking of world building, the printer who did the pyramid also has commercial license for this bad boy:
Spoiler:
I wanna do a AT scale planet express. Might even paint aquila landers blue like the ship. Seems like it all needs to be scaled down from 28mm. I just want it big enough to block a bit of los for titans. The landing pad I believe is more tau but I like the elevated nature of it. It'd be cool to have the arvus lighter on it with some infantry.

Another Questoris kit has arrived in the post and now working on removing pieces from the sprues. Torn between what I need and would like to do with the kit components, so bluestuff and magnets are on the slate.
Beyond frustrated with the Acastus situation, so I've sent GW an email to ask them to relax the auxiliary banner rule. The suggestion is that just one lance in a household be allowed to take a maximum of three Acastus knights, instead of the auxiliary support banner. I'd rather they scrap the rule altogether but something like that would be welcome.

So I got the lucius pattern warlord and warhound mostly done. Still more work on the warlord, gonna add some more decals and more metal work. Also waiting on magnets so the left arm is the mars pattern for now. Really stoked with this thing, it's been a dream to have a model of a lucius warlord ever since reading abnett's titanicus.
