I'd rather have a ton of human-sized models than what they did with Rogue Trader, where the Imperial side (the good-looking part) was only 10 models because they had the huge Nurgle trolls in there. Here both sides look great and there are so many models.

Everyone keeps saying Cadian, but is there any Cadian insignia on them?
They just look like standard guardsman.
Remember Chadians just happen to wear the common to many standard IG uniforms.
I think it would have been weird if they were traitor Mordian or something. (And heaven forbid if they did greatcoats - imagine the uproar “oh they can do traitor greatcoats, why haven’t we gotten plastic greatcoat...”)

Yeah, thats why you should only have one big guy instead of like... 3-4? That Rogue Trader had. That consumes a ton of sprue space.

Yeah, the Cadian uniform is the standard imperial guard uniform across the galaxy, they could be from anywhere. But we all understand ourselves better if we say "Look at those cadian renegade guards!" instead of "Look at those renegade guards, wearing the Departmento Munitorum approved standard imperial guard equipment!"

So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Very impressed. I especially like Tad and the totally-not-a-Stormcast, as well as the renegades.

Gotta agree the elf ranger and the marines are the most dull. The elf is just a touch overdone in pose and extra bits and bobs, and the chaos marines.. I honestly want to go check and compare them to the chaos marines from the 6th/7th box set.

Ur-ghuls were also a bit... OK. But still, that's pretty impressive overall.

(Though Wrath and Ruin has first dibs on my money).

Other way around. Cadian gear is commonly used by others.

That said, I'm really hoping this might be a sign of a recut Cadian kit.

Might be Dark age of Technology-era tech like the Kastellans? Looks similar in some ways like the curved art deco-ish shins and smooth round shapes.

One thing that a lot of people lamented with the Skitarii book was the lack of the 'old' style of stuff from the Horus Heresy artbooks.

I'm definitely hoping this is a Skitarii HQ choice. We're lacking one and it'd be a nice touch to have it be more machine than man.

Not quite. It’s Cadian Pattern carapace armour used by most Munitorums and Forge World productions.so they all wear the armour.
(Unless by gear that’s what you mean, but it’s not made by the Cadian regiment is what I mean)

I more mean they aren’t ‘Cadians’

Nitpicking really
They look great either way!

And yeah a recut wouldn’t go amiss

If you want to nitpick, the gear is produced by Kantrael--one of many Forge Worlds that supply Cadia...

But again:
Cadian gear has been called out for at least three editions now as being widely produced and emulated by non-Cadian regiments specifically to parrot the Cadians. You also have Cadian Regiments that might have settled elsewhere(Brimlock Dragoons IIRC) that have their gear as "heirlooms".

I fear they are gonna be pricey to pick up too, them and the few other bits I want.

I may have to pick up the box and sell off individual models I don’t want..

I am disappointed with the ranger, the massive spirit stone doesn't coincide with the rest of the line and the chicken toed pose leaves it very jarring to look at.

Right there with you. The "sassy bad girl" Infinity-esque pose is a major drag. Totally out of character with the line and the aesthetic

I also think the model is awesome with enough details and lack of those to make some beautiful conversions but i can also understand the complaints of the Odd pose.

It's like the jumping keg leg (Callidus, Autarch) it looks good in a frozen in time pose for a photo but seems odd if you want a more in the *action* or *situation* model. Kinda similar to when Ulrik new models was released, some people like it for the martial contemplating battlefield but others dislike that specific pose.

Either way at a quick glance i can count up to 37 maybe 38ish models total.

Yeah I think the pose look super awkward too. Take aim or holding a rifle in 2 hand pose would have been fine. My prefer pose is kneeling on some scenery taking aim, like Illic Nightspear.

These are fantastic models.
Very good poses, nothing cartoony or over-designed (but every detail is excellent), and in my opinion most of them are really in tone with the setting.

One thing that might ruin this for me is if all heroes have to be in play regardless of how many people are playing. I'd rather the game scaled to the number of players or heroes being used. It could get too much of a drag if two people played this and had to do actions with all these heroes. I'd rather it was like silver tower where I picked one and then got on with it.

Any thoughtful designer would make encounter spawn based on number of player (like Silver tower did)

From the GW Instagram account. Easy to zoom in to reveal a few things.

The robot is "UR-D25" or "UR-025", "Imperial Robot", the lady with the flamer is a "missionary" ...
I count 36 minis total on the picture.

Looking at the tiles, it seems that some are corridors between rooms and that makes me think they will move around (also given the narrative in one video that GW released).
There are about 20 tiles not on the board as pictured, and which are on the side, again indicating that the board will be built as you play.
On the game board, it also looks like there are 2 layers of tiles at multiple places.

There are cards of Initiative, Encounter, ... and maybe Discovery and Expeditions? ... plus two other stacks I could not read the name of (Legacy?? .

There are two large cardboard templates that seem to be used to track what is happening during the game and to keep some cards on.
The template with cards on seems to have images of ships on it ...
The other one has 8 markers on one side, 4 of which have characters, while the other have an "hostile group" card ... and 4 markers on the other side, matching the hostile groups from the first side and the Encouter stack of cards.
