The Sisters of Battle are a varied force, with members hailing from across the galaxy in pursuit of holy war. This time around, we’ve been able to represent that with a range of characterful new faces you’ll be able to include in your army.

If you’re a die-hard Adepta Sororitas fan with an army ready and waiting to go for the new edition, we’ve got even more exciting news. We want to nail every aspect of this release, from models to rules – and to do that, we’re asking for the help of the biggest, best playtesting group in the world.

You.

This year’s Chapter Approved will feature a beta codex for the Adepta Sororitas – and we’re inviting you to try it out. You’ll have access to a huge pool of units, Stratagems, Relics and Warlord Traits to represent the orders of the Adepta Sororitas in your games – and your feedback on how you find them will help us make the final codex as awesome as it can possibly be.

I know the bob cut is iconic, but I am definitely using the sallet helms for most of mine. I really like the short haired sculpt too.

That is definitely my favorite helmet in 40k, glad to see it return looking good as ever. I'm probably gonna skip the chapter approved as I don't play 8th right now. I'm also not interested in paying to beta test an army I don't currently own. It's still good they are trying to get them right though. I will get the kill team for them, at the very least.

The short hair head is the only one I don't like. Everything else is between good and great. The open-face sallet is amazing.

I thought the gas mask was an odd choice- it’s not normal SoB kit is it? Although I do like it.

Wonder how many of each you get in a kit? If you could have all helmetted squad that could be ridiculous number of heads...

It appears on one of the Flamer Sisters too, and the Hand Flamer Seraphim.

Funny, if you squared off that jaw it would look exactly like I do when I grow my bangs out to the utmost limit of military hairstyle. I need that thing to make a new Crimson Fists Captain.

Past that, this is going to be the catalyst of me finally getting a Sisters army.

OMC, open sabbat helmet! Always pictured those as being just one piece, but they actually do open!
And the hooded one looks old and grizzled, really nice touch!

The second to last is VERY awesome! Angry, spiteful, scornful sister is disgusted by what a waste of heretic pile of disgusting grox manure you are, and is second aways from spiting on your corpse after riddiling your body with bolts. She really really hates you.
(You is not streetsamurai here, it's whatever enemy model she is currently facing, whether it's some disgusting genestealer cultist, some disgusting chaos cultist, some disgusting space marine that refuse the supremacy of the Ecclesiarchal dogma, some disgusting eldar xenos with their disgusting bodies, anyone really )

Here’s a little peek behind the curtain at some early designs for the visages of the faithful – from pious initiates to battle-hardened Sisters Superior.

(Emphasis mine)
This REALLY looks like them dropping a hint about some new initiate/rookie sister unit! Bet they will be the one with the short hairs!

I guess heads without context are better than bolters without context. Gives Sisters a face, at least.

Still waiting to get an idea of new Repentias...

I have my doubts about the beta list, too. Given GW's usual paranoid secrecy, does anybody expect to get any new units in that list? They'll get some playtesting in for units that exist in metal and for which they should already have plenty of data, but don't want us to know what new stuff we'll get with the codex so half of it may end up reasonably balanced and the other half, well, guess it's balance lottery time again.

First Sister to figure out the visor opens. First Sister to get shot in the face through open visor.

True 40k sergeant material right there.

New unit or following the Black Templar approach. I wonder if we'll get lighter armor equivalent to Scouts for them, too. With short hair like that (which is cool, by the way), they're already out of uniform. May as well do something new with their gear.

Well, Geifer, you got to get your priorities straight: would you rather live forever, or you would rather SPIT ON THE CORPSES OF THE HERETICS!!!!!111

I don't care about SoB in the slightest, but I definitely appreciate them doing an open beta codex. That's a good sign for the health of the game.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

I'm not much a fan of the faces, but that's pretty much my opinion for all models so it isn't a particular critique of the Sisters release. The helmet looks as good as I expected of it so if I do end up grabbing Sisters I will likely run all of them with the helmets on.

I think it's great we are seeing this stuff so early on and I agree that a Beta Codex is a smart move from GW - it seems like they are taking a new approach to this army by collecting feedback at the production stage.

However I like these heads, but I don't love them. I expected a bit more but then again these are early stage concepts and they are unpainted.

The female heads in the new Stormcast Eternals range are lovely though and I was hoping for something similar.

And I think the last head is intended to be non-caucasion. It's nice to see them adding diversity but I think this one needs some work.

I also think the helmet heads need to be ever so slightly bigger - they look a bit too small compared to non-helmeted heads.

I'm afraid it'll put the fire out on the burning heretic. It's a chance I'm just not willing to take.

Ohhh. That's some very promising stuff. I really like the wimple & the helmet (I green-stuffed hoods on all of mine, except the Celestians, who i used Helms for as much as possible).

I love the variety on show here. I think you could go through Raging Heroes' entire catalogue without finding a third as many different face types and ages.

Eh, I’m not really amazed by those head renders if I’m honest. Maybe they just need painting and I’d change my mind.

Right now, they all just look… Angry, but in a forced way. Just doesn’t feel natural to me.

I do like the variety though, as it shows there is will to do the project properly.

I’m also looking forward to see what their potential is, in Chapter Approved.

I think most of those are pretty bad, honestly. Most of the faces just aren't very good.

If you look at the neck stumps, about five of the nine faces here appear to be facing dead foreward, I think those ones are still work in progress (possibly excluding the helmets), especially the last one, very symmetrical.

Though maybe they're just the standard battle sisters.

Also, that neck stump is very space marine compatible. In case you want to make a power armoured lady inquisitor in astartes armour or troll space marine players in general.

Will definitely pick up the chapter approved beta codex, though I'm considering selling off my metals sooner rather than later...

They are all mostly look ugly. Some are interesting as idea for a character like the battle grandma, but that's not what I would stick to every plastic body in the army for sure.
