Yeah, I don't know why people have the idea that SoB have combat heels. Yes, the Blanche picture does, but that's a stylized piece of art work that never showed up again. Its an outlier, not a standard.
The actual models do not have heels.
Most of the artwork does have have heels.
Ergo, there are no combat heels.

If they end up like this, i'll be more than content. I don't want to see them have stiletto heels or whatever. But a raised boot heel, somewhat like what the female stormcasts have is good. I want them to be feminine, because if you remove qualities that show that they are female at this scale then they will end up looking way off. I found the sisters of silence to be almost too flat footed, which sucks cause the best art of them by sam wall has them in goth boots. This isn't real life and some stylization is fine by me. I feel like whenever a sisters thread pops up somehow heels become a discussion, it gets old.

Veridyan is based in an artwork that has combat hells. It is an homenage.
The Inquisitor is an Inquisitor and inquisitors always wear fancy armours and clothes.
The normal models wear normal boots
But I know this is pointless, because your job is to find assertions made by others users, Irbis, and then, in the most pedantic and many times twisted and elaborated of ways, prove them wrong.
Personally I really dislike combat heels, because I dislike heels in general. Something of a higher boot, thats ok, but stilleto heels... eh no.

Because people have confirmation bias. They assume one thing and find one photo of one or two characters and immedately assume it.
Now I do hope that they have versions without the metal breasts and just a straight armor or cojoined center. It would be aesthetically pleasing, fun, and could allow people to model it however they want. Allowing people the option to green stuff that in.
Sister heads I think need longer hair versions / variety in what hair styles they can have personally.

You already have that option. You can greenstuff your models to whatever idiosyncratic preferences you have for alternative Sisters. Let's just have Sisters of Battle that look like actual Sisters of Battle and people who want something else can model it, rather than the other way around.

I think personally they need to update the design alittle bit to fit the new theme the imperium and most of its warmachine is going for. It'd be a nice to see the originals but in plastic but something in new direction or a different take would be interesting. While i agree they can just 'greenstuff' in the new aesthetic doesn't really match with the older models. GW doing them in plastic will hopefully allow them to develop something more of a sci-fi vibe while also giving them interesting equipment that only they can equip.

While I wouldn't mind a joined breastplate like the one the blackshield stormcast had in shadespire i'd much prefer they kept with the traditional look. But lets say a sprue had 5 chestplates, if one was joined like angarad blackshields I wouldn't complain but anything more than that and it's like why. And I thought sob were supposed to be in a religious cult/ecclesiarchy, and as such more repressed than even your average imperial soldier. So individuality in hairstyles is not something i'm too interested in. I prefer subtlety over making each one a snowflake. And for that reason I think that top middle head needs to go. I think the sculptor needs to think about fixing some of those noses and constipated expressions before worrying about giving them any kind of individuality...individuality that was never part of this armies look to begin with.

That one (Becky) is the worst.
I agree that uniformity of appearance makes sense for a religious order. It's why IRL orders wear habits, after all. OTOH I really like (for example) Sister Eyepatch. She looks amazing. The downside is, Sister Eyepatch's distinctuve monocular countenace is better for a named special character than as a head on a squad sprue, such that we must conclude that approximately 1 in 10 Sororitas have lost vision in their left eye due to workplace hazards.

There's a specific theological reason why nuns where habits, it has do with some very strange ideas about conception.
I'll be honest the heads don't impress me that much. The helmet is really good and the rebreather as well, so I think what's bugging me is the noses.

Male religious also wear habits. Habits generally are worn to show membership in the order, like any uniform. Aside from that, there ar considerations of modesty and asceticism. But Thargrim's point about uniformity is dead-on, insofar as Sisters echo IRL religious imagery.
As to noses, I find renders give smaller details a somewhat fuzzy look compared to pics of actual models. It's why compnies that never or rarely get around to showing anything but renders are so frustrating.

Maybe they are thinking of Hitman Cosplay (Nuns with Guns). But I agree that flat boots for SOB won´t cut it. The new female Stormcast wear wedge plate boots and imo they would look great on the new SOB. HQ & elite SOB units on the other hand would benefit from combat heels to show their increased status.
GW of today is not afraid to give some of their models a subtle boost in sex appeal by handing out high heels which is a good decision. Just think of the new Eschers & Inquisitor Greyfax.

If you read the article, those heads are just examples of different heads for different units. They aren't just heads for the normal SOB-squad. Some of them are for normal sisters, others (I assume, like the eyepatch sister) are for HQ's, etc...
But, at the same time, even if you have one Sister with a cyber-eyepatch in every normal sob-squad sprue... whats the problem? Is that different from having one space marine with a ciber eye or a mohawk in every sprue? Does that means every space marine in 10 wears a mohak or a ciber eye? Ideally, they would give us, like Primaris, 22 heads per squad (10 helmets, 10 normal heads, 2 Sargeats heads). I know people will say, that will occupy much space in the sprue... but I disagree. For me, heads are probably the most important part in a miniature, thats why they are so popular in 3rd party sites. I prefer more heads to personalice and less... pouches, or grenades, or purity seals, etc... and I like Sisters of Battle to have different hair sstyles, even if the bob-cut (My favourite to be honest) remains the more popular, and they all retain some cohesion (YOu don't have sisters of battle with very long hair, etc...)
Also, I at the same time agree and disagree with the uniformity discussion. I want my SOB to look like a cohesive, religious order army. At the same time, I don't want them to look all exactly the same but with different poses (Like primaris marines do, or Imperial Guard). I believe theres a middle ground between uniformity and individual personality without reaching Space Marines levels of individuality with individual pieces of different marks of armour inside a tactical squad, etc...
They are a religious organization, so I don't think some sprinkles here and there are out of place. They need to show their status inside the Empire.

Just because they're enthusiastic gothic space nuns doesn't mean they can't have differences! Personally I'd love to see the option for variability between different orders so the Sisters of the Immolated Lilly can rock a different look to the Order of the Flaming Bush, or you can keep a unified 'modern classic' look.
As for the heads, that type of render rarely shows how the actual model would look, plus what makes a good mini sculpt often doesn't make a good render, particularly when dealing with the exaggerated proportions of Heroic minis.
As for the overall looks, I like them.
My first thoughts was that using different hairstyles was a nice touch. assuming the heads shown are from a range of kits and roles.
Taking a 'Hair-for-rank' approach could mean you'll see scouts/novitiates rocking shorter hairstyles until they've been with their order for long enough to earn the right to the classic bob.
It'd also work as a punishment thing, with penitent sisters having their hair cropped until they've made up for their sins (assuming they weren't bad enough to deserve a go on the heretic pyre).

There are 16 heads on a Tac Squad sprue, three of which are bare. One of the bare heads sports a rebreather, which is likely meant for a marine carrying a flamer. The other two are presumptively choices for the sarge. Intercessors have a lot more bare heads (6/12) but they are pretty generic. A cyber eye, for example, is more generic than an eye patch. The former could be a product of choice whereas the latter is the necessarily the result of an injury. I could well believe that 8% of Space Marines undergo cybernetic augmentation. The notion that 8% of Sororitas happened to have the same exact wound merits the attention of Departmento Workplace Safety. inflatablefriend wrote:It'd also work as a punishment thing, with penitent sisters having their hair cropped until they've made up for their sins.

The article that picture of the heads comes from;
"Here’s a little peek behind the curtain at some early designs for the visages of the faithful – from pious initiates to battle-hardened Sisters Superior."
https://www.warhammer-community.com/2018/08/30/breaking-previews-and-reveals-from-novagw-homepage-post-1/
They're also not the finished designs, and probably not the entire range of heads that will be available on the finished kits.

Yeah, thats the article.
And I'm sorry Manchu but I just disagree with the notion that whats in the sprue represents in any shape or form the standard apareance/mathematical distribution of the general group. Is like saying all generic "Captain Primaris Marines" look like the model. Or that 60% of Eldar Kabalite warrrios are male and 40% are female because thats what comes with the box.
