That's a cracking looking Imperial Fist, and by the looks of him, he was completely worth the time and effort you put in. Love all the weathering and the small details to it.

Thanks for the kind words!

I've managed to snap a pic of him next to Sergeant Ludo in the meantime:

Whilst they do look very nice together, the obvious height difference is a bit jarring. It does make me wonder how GW managed to mess up the scaling on the Reivers; I get that they're supposed to be in Power Armour, but they're somehow taller than the Intercessors As I can't fix that modelling-wise, I'll have to find a suitable fluff explanation.

Regardless, it's nice to see them side by side like this The keen-eyed observer might notice that I added a little highlight to Ludo's face, and dotted his eyes in with black; little touches that much improve his looks, in my opinion

The pair look good together, but you're right, the height difference is quite odd. Maybe he's just quite a tall scout!

The highlights on Ludo's face work well and do add a lot to the look. Great work!

Thanks! And yes, explaining it as Ludo just being very tall is certainly an option

010: Let me tell you a tale...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So up until this point, I've not really said much about the background for this little project. The main reason for this is that I simply hadn't found a suitable setting for them. I couldn't decide between the 'traditional' 40th millennium, in which so much has already happened that it's hard to squeeze something new in, and the new post-Cadia setting, which in my opinion is still too vague and ill-defined. In the end, I chose neither.

This choice was motivated by two things: firstly, Apologist's amazing Alien Wars project, which is set during the Nova Terra Interregnum, and secondly, a bit of fluff I found whilst browsing through the Lexicanum. Said bit of fluff is, in fact, part of a rather important chapter in Imperial history, as it is part of the story of High Lord Goge Vandire, who ruled over both the Ecclesiarchy and Administratum for a bloody seventy years. Now the piece of fluff that caught my eye was the Crusade that was launched against Vandire by the Black Templars; a Crusade that was joined by several other parties - including the Imperial Fists.

I decided to take this idea of a Terran Crusade as the basis for my fluff. This of course prompted other questions: how did the Imperial Fists catch wind of Vandire's misdeeds? And what did they do once they did? Who else was involved, and what did those parties do? Questions, endless questions - questions I could think up my own answers to. Much like Apologist, I've realized that there's an untapped potential here; a potential to imagine, to wonder, to create something new out of the old.

Below, you'll find a little introduction of sorts, which broadly sketches the situation at the beginning of the story I'd like to tell. After that, you'll find the first part of a small synopsis of how the Imperial Fists got tangled up in Vandire's nefarious affairs. Hope you'll find them as enjoyable to read as I found them to write!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

M36: The Age of Apostasy

It is the 36th millennium.

Goge Vandire, High Lord of both the Administratum and the Ecclesiarchy,
reigns supreme.

For seventy years has he bled the Imperium dry, claiming its resources for himself, preying on its populace, abusing every morsel of power he has acquired to elevate himself above all others. The High Lords are no more than puppets, dancing to his whimsical tune. The people are disgruntled, and in the dark corners and alley-ways of Terra rebellion brews. Only by the might of the Frateris Templar have they been kept in check – for now.

But this is not the only threat to humanity’s future.

Across the width and breadth of the Imperium, scores of planets have been cut off from the Astronomican’s light by massive Warp storms. Their governments are in turmoil, the streets of their homes plagued by anarchy and treachery as malign cults seek to overthrow Imperial authority. Those planets still reachable are held in Vandire’s iron grip, his spies and armies everywhere, ever-present, ever-watching.

Meanwhile, the Xenos and Heretic stir.

Ork Warlords rampage across the galaxy, Eldar raiding parties strip colonies bare, and the traitorous forces of Chaos pour from the Eye of Terror. Every day, more planets fall silent, never to be heard of again.

But there is still hope.

On the isolated world of Dimmamar, a young preacher has become the face of the resistance against the tyrant. His Confederation of Light has sparked an uprising that ripples outward from the Segmentum Obscurus, drawing thousands of followers to their side. The masses quickly find themselves backed by other, more powerful institutions, such as the Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, and Adeptus Astartes, who had been ignorant of the sad state of the Imperium due to the severity of the Warp Storms.

Now, under the auspices of Sebastian Thor himself, a push towards the Throneworld is launched. His followers burn a path to the Segmentum Solar, each conquered planet bringing them closer to their final goal: deposing the errant High Lord.

On thousands of worlds, the battle for the Imperium’s soul rages. Guardsmen, Skitarii, Astartes and common men and women stand side by to reclaim what is rightfully the Emperor’s, and they will not rest until their duty is done.

This tale follows but one group among many, many more who fought – and died- in those terrible, dark times…

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE IMPERIAL FISTS

The Imperial Fists, like many Chapters in that time, had been largely unaware of the troubles plaguing the Imperial administration. Warp storms and unrelenting assaults from Xenos forces had kept most of the Chapter occupied for the majority of Vandire’s Reign of Blood, and the agents of the errant High Lord saw to it that the Chapter’s outposts were unable to voice any complaints to Chapter Command.

There were, however, two individuals who, by virtue of their rank and assigned duties, would quickly discover the depth of Vandire’s treachery.

On the one hand there was old Eumene Ruvin, who, as Captain of the 5th Company, was tasked with the upkeep of the star forts lining the Segmentum Solar’s borders, as well as the patrols along said boundaries. He was less than pleased to find out that both the star forts and the patrol fleet were essentially being held hostage by the Frateris Templars, who had swiftly taken over the Segmentum’s outer defence network on Vandire’s orders.

On the other hand there was young Seleukon Tra, who had been named Acting-Captain of the 7th Company following his predecessor’s demise during the defence of Outpost Beta-Gamma. Whether he would be elevated to full Captaincy by the Chapter Council was yet to be seen, as he was a polarizing figure who gained allies as quickly as he did enemies. Regardless, few could deny that the so-called ‘Solar Lion’ took his appointed task quite seriously. As Chief Victualler, he was responsible for feeding his Battle-Brothers, and thus, for extracting the necessary tithes from Agri worlds that fell under the Chapter’s direct protection.

Events conspired to make the paths of these two Captains cross in the execution of their duties. Raphia III, a fertile planet close to the border with the Segmentum Tempestus, had been seized by Vandire’s cronies in the early years of his regime. The Chapter Keep that oversaw said world had been unceremoniously bombed into oblivion, and in its place had risen a mighty Ecclesiarchal Citadel. From this Citadel, which more closely resembled a fortress than a place of worship, did the lackeys of Vandire rule the world with an iron fist, its rich harvest now directed to the High Lord’s palaces and temples.

Such a crime against the Chapter could not go unpunished. Seleukon Tra was the first to arrive in Raphia III’s vicinity, and after taking stock of the situation, retreated to a safe distance to weigh his options.

His Gladius Frigate Treatise was hardly equipped to deal with the Frateris Templars’ fleet positioned over the planet, and neither were the few Astartes the Frigate held. However, he could not allow the Frateris Templars to hold the world in its grip any longer. A more subtle approach was required here – one that would require the aid of others.

An opportunity to acquire the support of other parties presented itself not long afterwards...

011: Works in Progress

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been working on the last Scout conversion a bit, mostly getting the fatigues sculpted. I'm doing it in several steps this time around, so I don't have to rush the sculpting so much. Here's what Scout Onru looks like at the moment:

Still have a lot of work left to do, but we're getting there

I've also done a bit of prep work for my ETB Intercessors conversions. I wanted to give my Sergeant a nice back banner (both because it looks cool and because it's a key part of the 'classic' Space Marine aesthetic, in my mind), but this of course required me to think of what would be depicted on said banner.

Seeing as these guys belong to the 7th Company, "The Guardians of the Phalanx", I figured I could rip off the banner design from Forge World's Phalanx Warders kit a bit...

However, I'm no expert at sculpting fiddly details, so the shield is a bit more basic shape-wise. I do need to add the Fists' own icon in there somewhere, though; my current idea was to add a small one in the top-left corner, as seen here:

Also, meet Sergeant Barran, the proud bearer of this banner

I've also been thinking of ways to fix the size issue with the Reivers. The easiest way is to just add enough basing to the Intercessors' bases so they naturally end up taller:

Whilst certainly effective, it is a bit noticeable. I'll have to do some more thinking on that, I think.

What do you guys think?

Ooh I love the little starwars-esque story piece. Rather effective at setting the setting, as it were.

Regarding the unfortunate height descrepency between reaver and intercessor, there are two options available too you that would help solve the issue.
One - cut up the intercessors at the calves/thighs/waist and add a layer of bulk (plasticar/greenstuff) to give them a few extra mill of height.
Two - do the opposite, cut up the reavers at the calves/thighs/waist and remove some length and make them shorter.

Thanks! Setting the setting was the aim, so I'm glad I've succeeded in that regard

As for the height problem, I'll see if adding a bit of plasticard to the Intercessors helps; I'm reluctant to cut up the Reivers, as converting them into Scouts is enough of a struggle as it is

I've also been thinking of another solution, though, as in that these guys don't necessarily need to be Neophytes. Fluff-wise, it'd actually make sense for them not to be, as the Warp storms would prevent Captain Tra from contacting the 10th Company for assistance. So these 'Scouts' could just be regular Battle-Brothers, who have temporarily taken up Scout Armour again to perform the initial scouting operation. How does that sound?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

012: Librarian Kitbash

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I may have gotten a little distracted from working on Onru, the final Scout conversion. You see, I've recently been struck with this urge to build another character for my Imperial Fists. At first, I couldn't decide what kind of character I wanted - a Chaplain seemed like a good option, as did a Techmarine - but eventually, I stumbled upon the Knight-Incantor from the Getting Started with Age of Sigmar booklet, and after taking a long, hard look at him...

Spoiler:

... I decided he'd make a great Librarian!*

*after some 'corrective surgery', of course.

And so, after picking up my copy of the booklet at my FLGS, Lexicanium Imikro Zyavas was born!

As you can see, I've taken the liberty of replacing his legs with proper Space Marine ones, courtesy of the Deathwing Terminator kit. I've still got a lot of work to do on him, but I'm happy with his current pose. I especially like the little lion icon on his chest; a nice tie-in to his Acting-Captain, don't you think?

Fluff-wise, he's a close friend of the Acting-Captain, being one of the first to put Seleukon forward for the position of Captain during the defence of Outpost Beta-Gamma. It's also during this conflict that his psychic powers, long-slumbering, had suddenly manifested themselves. This lead to some awkward questions for the Chapter's Librarius, as Imikro Zyavas had not shown any psychic potential up until that point. After some rigorous testing (and some heated discussions between the Chief Librarian and the Chapter Council), Zyavas was found to be fit for further training as a Librarian, and has served as a Lexicanium attached to the 7th Company ever since.

And here's a size comparison shot with a regular Intercessor Marine; I think he'll pass for a Primaris Librarian quite easily, don't you think?

I typically don't bother with Space Marines at all as I find them quite dull. Your conversions and backstory and explanations have kept me enthralled through this entire blog.

Really fantastic work and I look forward to seeing more. Everything about this, for me, has been spot on in what I like to see in a blog.

013: Scout Onru

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I managed to finish off the last Scout conversion a few days ago! Okay, he still needs his basing done, but still, progress is progress

Here are some pictures:

Whilst the cloth-sculpting went a bit better this time around, I did mess up his right arm slightly. I tried to sculpt the entire arm in one go, which did not end as well as I'd hoped. Lesson learned!

I've also added a bit of hair-esy to this particular Imperial Fist. Whilst bald heads are certainly a staple of the Space Marine look, I figured that a little variety in that department wouldn't hurt. His hairstyle was largely inspired by Call of Duty's "Soap" character, although it's not an exact copy.

I've also tried to add a bit of character to these Scout conversions by playing with poses and weapons. Onru is posed more aggressively, charging into the enemy with a combat blade in one hand and a grenade in the other, whilst Jhonas is almost static, controlled, pointing out targets to his squadmates. Both Scouts share the same wargear, however; Onru has his pistol safely tucked away in its holster on his left, whilst Jhonas has his combat blade stashed away in its scabbard. Such details, however minor (in Jhonas' case, even nigh-invisible) are important to model, in my opinion, as they tie models together even if you don't necessarily see it.

To conclude this update, I'd like to share with you a small piece I've written on Brother Onru. Hope you enjoy reading it, as I certainly enjoyed writing it

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Onru, do you have the mark?”

Brother Onru leant against the wall of what had once been a modest habitation unit, situated several floors high above the grimy streets of Unity District. It was a filthy, ruined place; it was hard to imagine what the room would have looked like before the decay had set in. Thick coats of dust covered everything in sight, from the broken pieces of furniture to the dead rats on the floor. Graffiti, crude and sloppily applied, had been streaked over the walls, splashes of bright colours over a dull grey backdrop. Even the ceiling had not been spared by the vandals, Onru noted, as he glanced upwards for a moment.

He shifted slightly, and carefully peered out the room’s single, broken window to the streets below. He raised his magnoculars, and aimed them at the nearest intersection.

A column of figures, flanked by two personnel carriers of the Chimera type, were slowly making their way down the road. Each of the figures was clad in dirty white carapace armour, and armed with lasguns that shone brightly in the meagre sunlight. Onru’s face twitched imperceptibly as he eyed the soldiers. Frateris Templar. Vandire’s men.

There had been little time to ponder on the implications of the Chapter Keep's destruction before deployment, nor on the Frateris Templars' presence on Raphia III, and neither of his brothers on this mission had been keen to share their thoughts on the matter. Even now, during this operation, Onru did not fully know on what side he and his brothers really stood.

“Onru?”

The voice of sergeant Ludo snapped Onru out of his reveries. He activated his vox-link, and replied.

“Twelve foot-mobiles, 2 transports. No sign of mark. You think our intel’s off?”

Onru heard sergeant Ludo snort on the other end of the line.

“The only source of intelligence I trust is my own two eyes, Brother. That said, the Tygers haven’t been wrong thus far. I suggest we wait and see.”

The line went silent again, leaving Onru with his thoughts once more. He mulled over what he knew as he scanned over the guardsmen again and again, noting minor details about their equipment and appearance. The High Lord’s men had seized Raphia III for themselves – given the fleet hanging over their heads, and the presence of the Frateris Templar in the streets, this was evidently true. It might then reasonably follow that their leaders – whoever those may be – had been corrupted in some way. After all, only a fool or a heretic would dare to lay claim on the Emperor’s domain. It is then also possible that it is these individuals who had ordered the Chapter Keep’s destruction. Such a reasoning seemed sensible to him. These leaders would have been in a position to do so, and have had the means to execute such a task.

The question that rose after that was one that Onru found more difficult to answer. Were these leaders doing this of their own accord, or did they act on orders from someone even higher up the chain of command?

Onru shook his head, and pushed the thoughts out of his mind. This was not the time for such musings. He and his brothers had been deployed here to gather information, to discern truth from falsehood. The Imperial Fists would not act brazenly in this matter.

Gather your wits, before wading into waters wary, as the Ultramarines would say.

Thank you! I was a bit worried that the converted Stormcast wouldn't be tall enough - it was a great relief to see he matched the Primaris in size!

As for the battleforce, I'm actually not that terribly excited for it - I'm glad the Imperial Fists are getting their turn in the spotlight, but I find the upgrade sprue a bit uninspired. I'd have liked some nice little scrimshaw bones to hang from my Fists's belts/shoulder pads, or some extra armour plates for their legs like the Devestators have; but I suppose that was a bit too much to ask for But still, a man can dream!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Interlude: Wüde

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With the Scouts finished, I've returned to a conversion I started a while ago, namely an upscaled Terminator. The conversion is more or less finished, but I'm holding off from posting too many pictures just yet, as I'd like to save those for an upcoming post in which I'll talk about Terminator armour and its 'replacement', the Gravis armour.

But after building this model, I had the urge to write another short fluff-piece, and I'm not one to deny the muzes' inspiration. This time the story is centered around the person who will be wearing the Terminator armour in the Raphia III campaign: Veteran Wüde. Enjoy!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wüde idly scratched his nose. He was standing in the Treatise’s teleportarium, waiting, surrounded by a swathe of Tech-Priests who continually checked and re-checked the massive device’s various components. He had been told -repeatedly- that these teleport arrays were very precious, very fragile pieces of equipment, that required adequate care from the Omnissiah’s chosen, who were not to be disturbed in the execution of their duties. As such, he had been instructed to stand completely still, preferably not moving in any way or in any direction, and -if possible- trying not to breathe too hard. He would have appreciated the attempt at levity from the red-robed adepts, had he not quickly realised that they had been entirely serious.

He rolled his shoulders to dispel some of the tension in his back muscles, which earned him several more angry glares from the tech-adepts. He wondered when he was going to be deployed. The strike team had made planetfall several hours ago, and he had been waiting here ever since. He had halfway expected their cover to have been blown the second they got into the enemy fleet’s scanner range, but they had made it through the blockade unhindered. That was a good sign, to be sure.

He cycled through the systems of his armour once more, checking the runes flashing on his heads-up display for any abnormalities. The helmet – like much of the bulky Tactical Dreadnought armour – had been a bit of a tight fit, but he had not wanted to press the issue with his Brother-Techmarine. After all, the fact that his esteemed Brother had been able to restore the suit to this extent -on his own, no less- had been nothing short of a miracle in itself.

Wüde slightly shifted his weight around, seeking to stave off the muscle-ache that was slowly rising in his legs. The whirring sound of the armour’s internal servos drowned out the disapproving mutters – all in binary, of course- that accompanied this sudden movement, and he was only faintly aware of a tech-adept gesticulating angrily behind him. He let out a small sigh. As he moved, he felt the weight of the Cyclone Missile Launcher mounted atop his shoulders shift in unison. A formidable weapon, it was – capable of raining explosive death upon the enemy from afar.

It was for this very reason that he had been given this weapon. It was also why he had not been deployed alongside the rest of the strike team.

For it was not a subtle weapon, that much was certain. And subtlety, as Captain Tra had so eloquently explained, was what was needed here. Politically, the Imperial Fists could ill-afford to affront High Lord Vandire directly. In fact, they did not even know if they had reason to do so. Hence why this initial reconnaissance operation was so vital. Hence why subtlety was required above all else.

Wüde ultimately cared little for the specifics of the plan Captain Tra had cooked up with the Zetic Tygers’ commander. For him, all that really mattered was that he knew who and where he was to engage. All else was secondary.

So when the alarm inevitably sounded, and the teleportarium was bathed in red emergency lights, Wüde stood as impassively amidst the commotion as a mountain in a thunderstorm. Only when he felt himself being pulled over the threshold into the void, and the world was filled with white, did he allow himself a single smile.

Life's been a bit busy the past few weeks, so I haven't been able to work on the Terminator/Gravis armour post I was preparing, but I did manage to get some painting done. The escape pod terrain piece is now pretty much all done, as you can see below:

And here's a scale shot with Scout Sergeant Ludo:

"Come out with your hands above your head!"

I also painted this lovely chap, a 'true-scale' Chaos Space Marine I built back when Shadow War: Armageddon was released. I'm thinking he and his Black Legion brethren might make for a nice opposing force for my Imperial Fists...

I'll hopefully be able to post some more worthwile updates in the near future, but as said, life's getting a bit in the way at the moment. But we shall endure, for Dorn, and for the Imperium of Man!

017: Works in Progress

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a while since I last updated this thread - time to fix that!

Life's been getting in the way of proper hobbying the past few weeks/months, but things have (fortunately) quieted down a bit again, leaving me some time and space to work on my Imperial Fists some more. I did promise to post a Terminator/Gravis armour analysis sometime in the near future, but I'm afraid that I'll have to do some more thinking before I can properly work on that one. So for now I only have a little bit of progress to share with you guys, but I'll try to get more content out in the coming weeks

With the Scouts done, I figured it was a good time to start the other Intercessors-to-Tacticals conversions. I started with the Flamethrower-wielding Battle-Brother, as I had a more concrete idea of what I wanted to do with him.

I wanted him to be wearing MK VII armour, so I cut off the top parts of his kneepads and smoothed out his legs a bit with green stuff to compensate. It was rather fiddly work, and I have to admit that it didn't turn out as well as I had hoped it would. Still, it looks well enough to serve my needs, and that's all that matters I suppose

I also tweaked his gut and chest a bit. I had this brilliant idea to cut the cabling from some regular Space Marine torsos and just stick it unto the (smoothed out) gut plate of the Primaris torso, but - as a smarter man might have predicted - the cables turned out to be a bit too short. So I had to lengthen the cables via green stuff, which worked out pretty well all things considering. I then noticed that the cables extruded a bit too much above chest armour, so I re-sculpted the bottom part of the chest so it would fit properly once again.

As I had some green stuff left, I tried to sculpt the Tactical Squad marking on his right shoulder pad. I went with the double-arrow marking, as sculpting the standard upwards-aiming arrow would have been hindered by the purity seal at the bottom. And because it's cool-looking, of course

One last thing I'd like to share with you all is this little part of my Terminator conversion. As I was looking up Imperial Fists artwork, I came across this lovely image of an Imperial Fists Centurion/Captain type who had the fingerbones of a fallen Brother attached to his armoured fingers. I knew I had to incorporate that in one of my conversions, and I figured that a big Power Fist would be a suitable vessel for such awesome grim-darkness:

That's all I've got for now, I'll hopefully be able to share more with you all in the near future

Thank you! This project's been a bit of a change of pace for me, but I'm really enjoying this slower, more methodical approach to modelling

Tiny update: I did a bit more work on the flamer-carrying Battle Brother, mainly attaching his head and arms to the rest of his body. He's not going to be united with his flamer for some time though, as I intend to paint him in subassemblies (with the flamer being the subassembly-part).

I also added a small purity seal to his right leg, as a call-back to the classic Tactical Marine aesthetic.

Loving the Primaris to Old School Marine conversions, they look really great. Amazing attention to detail to go with the great painting. The bones on the Chainfist are particularly cool!

Thank you! I've been having a lot of fun with these conversions, glad you like them!

018: Tactical Squad Barran, nearing completion

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, it's been a while again, but my Imperial Fists are still very much alive and kicking!

Hobby time's been a bit limited lately, but I've managed to get some stuff done. I got the other two Scout conversions and the Captain primed, and Tactical Squad Barran is nearing completion, as you can see below:

From left to right: Brother Yuzu, Sergeant Barran, and Brother Omar.

Brother Yuzu is the most recent addition to the squad, and as you can no doubt tell, he's wearing a fine (if somewhat battle-damaged) suit of Mark VI Corvus Armour. Creating it was both easier, and more difficult than I expected. Let's have a closer look, shall we?

Corvus armour has a few noticeable elements that set it apart from both the earlier and the later patterns of Power armour. The most obvious ones are, of course, the beak-shaped helmet, and the studded shoulder pad (quick note: normally, the other shoulder pad would not have a trim; the arm I used however did not allow me to remove it without damaging the rest of the arm, so yeah). Additionally, the torso does not sport an Imperialis or Aquila. Instead, it has a couple of cables running across it. Finally, the leg armour fully encloses the entire leg, including the knees.

It's these elements that I tried to replicate on this Primaris model. The torso was rather easy to convert; it was mostly a matter of scraping away the 'chest' and then adding the cables and the thingie in the center. Said thingie in the center originally came from an Mk VI torso from the Tactical Marine kit, by the way; I just cut it off the original torso and then shaved it down to size. The cables themselves were a bit finicky to get right. I used thin sausages of Green Stuff to get the basic shape, which I then squished into place, and cut down to size where necessary. After that, I used a sharp scultping tool to gently push in the ridges of the cables, both on the top-side as on the sides.

The legs were slightly more complicated. I essentially had to carefully cut off the upper part of the kneepad, and then file down the kneepad until it lined up with the rest of the leg armour. The fact that this was an easy-to-build figure didn't really help matters, as I couldn't really reach every part of the leg as easily. Once I got everything filed down, though, the only clean-up I still had to do was rebuild a tiny portion of the left leg. As a side-note, I also cut off those ball-shaped things on the lower parts of the leg, and the little armour plates around the hips.

And, as I am a sucker for punishment (like any good Imperial Fist should be), I also sculpted another tactical arrow, as you can see below:

He's not 100% done yet, but I'm rather pleased with the way he turned out. I'm definitely going to try and create more of these guys in the future! I'm also eager to try and make some MK IV armour, even though I'm not sure how I'm going to tackle that yet...

Anyways, that's all I have for you now, hope you enjoyed, and let me know what you think

Thank you! If you do get around to converting your own non-Primaris Primaris Space Marines (quite a mouthful, that ), I'd love to see them!

019: Lexicanium Imikro Zyavas

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's been a bit quiet around these parts - time to change that! I've been rather busy with uni work in the past few weeks (months? Throne, time passes quickly...), but things have thankfully settled down now. Unfortunately, I'm currently nowhere near my beloved Imperial Fists (and won't be for quite some time), so I won't be able to post a lot of updates in the near future.

Still, I did bring some pictures with me that I can share with you all, so, here goes!

Behold, Lexicanium Imikro Zyavas, attached to the Imperial Fists 7th Company!

Back in update 12, I showed you guys my attempt to turn the AOS Knight-Incantor (from the Getting Started With AOS booklet) into a Space Marine Librarian. You might remember that I made an attempt to replace his legs, as the original ones didn't really read as power armoured ones. Now, a few weeks after that first attempt I actually bought myself a couple of Intercessors (from the regular kit), and I ended up with one spare set of Primaris legs. As I wasn't going to use them for anything else, I figured I might as well try to graft them unto the Librarian. It worked surprisingly well, although I did require a substantial amount of corrective surgery. Still, the result does look pretty awesome, in my ever-humble opinion

I've also added a couple more bits to make him a bit more Space Marine-y, such as the bags and pouches, the purity seals, etc. I decided to keep his staff as-is; originally, I was going to cut off the halo atop the lion heads, but my girlfriend persuaded me to keep them, so there

Overall, I'm rather happy with the way he's turned out, I feel like he 'reads' like a proper Space Marine Librarian. Fluff-wise, he's still going to be 'just' a Lexicanium, as Imikro's powers manifest rather late into his service in the Imperial Fists' ranks.

That's all I have for now, hope you enjoy! Next update will probably be about the regular Intercessors kit, or about my Terminator conversion. I'll see which of the two grabs my attention first

Ezra Tyrius, no need to be humble with conversions like you’re knocking out! The librarian is all kinds of awesome, can’t wait to see him and his tactical mates all painted up.
