Well, that was never gonna happen in the 40k and AoS Khorne vs Slaanesh box.

Have to keep up the appearance that only male basement dwellers play miniatures. I really wish they did get rid of the tits.

"Hey, you paint all of these?"
"Yup"
"LOL, nice tits on the models."
"Hey, we are so mature we have to have tits on the models."
"Ok son."

Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

Indeed. Plus, as we all know, women are universally chaste and dainty creatures who abhor anything that could even suggest the depiction of sexual characteristics outside of their proper context(married, lights off, under the covers, and nowhere else!), and so anything like these would instantly put off any woman who saw them from the entire hobby of tabletop gaming. It's not like women are often the most prolific creators and consumers or erotic art and literature both or anything...

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

There have been plastic models that have been updated, just not very often and usually only for the most popular of kits. That said, I doubt we'll see Daemonettes updated as they are. The style of the Daemonettes is pretty much the current core of Slaanesh design philosophy and has been brought into the Seekers and the Chariots, and now into these new Fiends or whatever they happen to be.

That's why I'm saying it. I doubt Slaanesh is anywhere near popular enough at GW to warrant redone plastic kits. It's also something I want, so it's not going to happen.

That's why I'm holding out hope for new kits with similar functions. A new unit of elite Daemonettes, for instances, that could be repurposed if you don't like the regular ones, similar to how some Age of Sigmar armies took a reasonably new Warhammer Fantasy kit as core and added new units around it to bolster the sub-faction into something playable. Not sure we'll see that with Daemons, though. They're pretty well defined in their unit selection.

drbored wrote:
Either way, the Daemonettes are just the core troops. The allure comes from the graceful curves of the models, the long limbs, the androgynous body parts. They add the weirdness in because, well, they're daemons. They're not human. When they interact with humans, they often cast an illusion over themselves to better manipulate and corrupt. When it comes to all out war, which is what these models represent, they have little need for seducing soldiers in trenches or Space Marines when they have bolter and flamer aiming at them.

Yeah, that's nonsense. By the same logic Nurglites should stop spreading disease and Tzeentchians stop casting spells when fisticuffs ensue because why would you use the warp magicks of your god to gain an edge in combat when it's time to punch stuff like a dumb Khornate.

Slaaneshi troops that don't seduce the enemy into questioning whether they should even pull the trigger is not true to the background. That train of thought only leads to weaker, funny looking Khornates.

 Malika2 wrote:

I wouldn't give up on that hope just yet. Daemons are for both systems, and if Age of Sigmar gets their Slaanesh stuff first you'll just have to wait a little longer for 40k-specific models.

GW covered both systems for Nurgle and Tzeentch, and if you really squint for Khorne as well. I think it's more likely that we'll get 40k Slaanesh than not at this point.

Looks good from what I can see, still miss the more overtly feminine look of the diaz models though. The newer stuff is more weird, but cool in its own way. At least this new stuff looks consistent with the rest of the range. Hopefully they get a fairly big release. Cause when this run of Slaanesh stuff is out and one, don't expect them to get anything for another ten years.

Any pics for those who have no WiFi access to watch movies at the current moment? Work data WiFi cards in a remote setting suck.

Slaanesh Fiends are looking good but the art of the Daemonettes in the teaser suggest that the face of the core troops will remain ugly which is quite sad. Luckily I am the proud owner of an unit of Diaz Daemonettes on foot & steed so GW can screw around as much as they want.

Fantastic video and fantastic teaser at the end. My interest for Slaanesh went from "okay I guess" to "pure win" in one turntable shot.

I like that model a lot, great improvement over the old sculpts. But yeah it still sucks the daemonettes/core of the army is still those bland and kind of uninteresting sculpts. They were designed back when things had to be able to rank and file. So they aren't posed very dynamic or cool. They aren't terrible but I wish they looking more like the warhammer online art, or had the more alien look on the cover art of the old codex.

But still if they get a good handful of quality sculpts like the new fiends it could redeem this range. Still hoping for a plastic herald and KoS.

Fun video, lovely model
Really interested to learn more about the RoC Wrath and Rapture box now. Will it have AoS or 40k rules? Both? Neither?

I'm just glad GW is going back to the old nipple-present design. There was a fear that GW was becoming too sanitized (not just with Slaanesh, but also Sisters of Battle), and I guess I'm just glad that they aren't.

But I'm guessing they'll have to put up with bs articles from BoLS in the near future.

They put out these videos wwwaaayyy too quickly after the """leaks""" appear for them to be false flags from anybody but themselves.

Still cute though. Model is nice too.

Considering that video went up well after 5pm UK time I think it was a leak and some at the studio pulled out a few stops to stay late to finish it off. Considering that they've got all the tools, facilities and trained staff in-house to produce a video its not out of the question to adjust a few time schedules and put something together like that.

And lets face it GW just won themselves a big amount of points for community relations and news control. So its not just a fun exercise but its generated them some great - unexpected - marketing.

As per the below, this is the same. They have some wicked smart guys working in the Community team; a video like this isn't out of the question for an afternoon's work.
Solid source at GW HQ.

I can tell you explicitly that Rogue Trader was not supposed to leak so early, it really did force their hand. From what I've been told, most leaks are anticipated (whether it's a GW staffer or someone further down the supply chain) but some are meant to be kept locked away (Rogue Trader). The RT one in particular spawned a pretty heavy internal investigation AFAIK.
