Well you'll end up with a lot of Imperial Fist pads if you get that one. Do you want your DW to have a heavy Imperial/Crimson Fist slant?

If the pads are not needed sell them. There should be a strong initial market for Imperial Fists/Crimson Fists shoulders. Easy enough to do on ebay, here on dakka, or other trading/selling sites.

Get one of each, that will round out your army selection better. It's typically better to only have a handful of inceptors/aggressors in primaris squads for the added bonus they provide (one of either per squad for the fall back and shoot option, or advance and ignore -1 to hit for assault weapons).

Thanks you guys for the advice. I'm not quite sure were I should pre-order from though because last year I tried to buy one of the battleforces and the place I preordered from ran out of the box I wanted to buy.

If the place you go to doesn't have what you want then eBay will have plenty.

If you don't want the Fist upgrades, I'll take them off your hands.

I just noticed, I was incorrect when it came to the Fist upgrade sprue. The bolt pistol arm is different from the Blood Angels one. So that is cool.

Well I still have a deathwatch battleforce and the older ad mech battleforce box still unopened because life keeps throwing curve balls at me which causes me to have no free time. So one of my goals this coming year is to build these darn models and paint them so that I can finally play a game with my own force.

What's the thoughts on the admech battleforce? Considering picking it up. Good start for an army?

Getting the Eldar one as I less pondering a wraithknight, the points drop is good news and I already have a lot of wraith constructs (2 spirit seers, 20 wraithguard, 2 wraithlords) so can potentially use the Vigilus book Wraith Host.

Indeed. One of the better boxes right now. Perfect if you combine it with the start collecting.

The IF one is arguably better for deathwatch, though one of each wouldn't be a bad option.

The shoulder pads aren't really a problem. You don't have to use them and you do get power fists, which you might be able to equip on DW sergeants (maybe).

The generic marine one has more stuff and the repulsor is worth more than the redemptor. However you get 10 reivers, which are pretty useless at the moment. This might change after CA but I doubt it. The problem is they aren't nasty enough in CC, which is their one job. Cutting their cost a lot doesn't really help that.

Personally, logic tells me that I don't need any more marines. But I play crimson fists so it's hard not to go for their set. Tricky!

Eh, not really. He can always assemble one squad of reivers with rifles (either their own or surplus intercessor ones) and play them as intercessors with auto/full bolt rifles to have 3 troop units out of the box. The differences are small enough (especially if he were to use intercessor/DW helmets) that no one should mind.

Sure. I'd have no problem with that. Only thing is that in a DW force it could lead to some confusion, as you can actually have reivers mixed into your squads.

Got the email from Wayland today saying my order has shipped, so it seems they're better with pre-orders than normal stock.

That's why I said helmets/rifles, once the unit has all Intercessor gear and no Reiver masks/knives, it should be easy to see they are Intercessors. Both pads, too, to bulk them up a bit visually.

Though, yeah, CA might blur the lines somewhat if the Frankencaptain model is any indication, but as of now, light armour Intercessors is no different than giving DW veterans say Mk III armour.

So my favorite online discount retailer said that his preorder stock numbers were cut by 90% and Reece said something similar for Frontline. Reece's example was something like putting in an order for 100+ boxes and getting 2 of each.

Is this a case of overseas shipping issues causing a delay in the US? Saving copies for smaller LGS's instead of letting the big online retailers have them? Even US Ebay has dried up for these things.

I also should clarify I mean the Battleforce boxes in the US seem to have a shortage, doesn't seem like the UK copies are having any issues (despite being much cheaper).

Anyone have any better guesses then me?

Element Games shipped mine fine also, maybe the issue is getting stock out of the UK as they ship by sea so essentially have to forecast numbers for retailers.

I'm still waiting for my Middle Earth order from Goblin Gaming. Some stuff was on pre-order and some stock coming soon. Seems it's not coming as fast as I was hoping

I bought the interdiction force and got it a few days ago but after checking the content it seems like I have 3x3 interceptors rather that 1x3 and no intercessors ... If I ask the vendor for the intercessors will they ask me to give them back the surplus interceptors ? And if so, should I ask the vendor ? I'm not sure.

I picked up my Lizardmen one. Looks like all the sprues are present and accounted for. Looking forward to getting it all assembled.

Email GW Customer Service. They should be able to help you.

If the box was unopened when you got it, you should contact GW's customer service directly rather than whoever sold it to you - provide a picture of the box contents so GW can verify the mispack. My experience with them has really been quite exceptional, every time, and they've never asked me to return anything, only sent what was missing.

Your contract for sale is with the store, however with GW models its a LOT easier to just go direct to GW themselves. They will typically want to see photos and also have the receipt from the transaction.

One lets them see the issue, the other lets them track which box was sold with an error and where from. It both proves that its a new box purchase and not second hand goods going around (cuts down on abuse of the system) and also helps them track any potential errors or problems with their stock and distribution network.

How do you know it was unopened ? I'll try to contact GW's customer service tomorrow.
Thanks for all the help fellas.

Usually if the shrink wrap is broken, but I don't think GW shrink wraps a lot of their products. The point is that the issue could either be with GW or with the store, and if it wasn't opened, then the problem was in packaging the box by GW (not that it is likely a store would intentionally swap out intercessors for interceptor sprues, some people have gotten boxes with sprues having all the model bits removed). Regardless, GW has the best customer service in the biz, and I'd probably contact them first anyway.

The Christmas bundle boxes do not come shrink wrapped so you can’t tell if they have been tampered with or not.

My four boxes came today so another big addition to the ever growing unpainted pile! Really tempted to start paintinf my Ad Mech force that I have been buying up over the oast year but still disappointed in the scrapping of the Forge World Metallica transfers and holding out some (probably misguided) hope that they bring them back at some point in the future.

Ugh, I'm still waiting for Miniature Market to ship my two battleforces - I was hoping they would've shipped it by today, but they don't seem to have received them yet. Since my Infinity Third Offensive preorder took a full week to ship and won't be arriving until next week, I'm afraid my battleforces won't come before Christmas...

There was some discussion previously of the imperial fists sgt with 1 1/2 helmets, but no one mentioned how odd the powerfist with a giant imperial fists icon on it directly below the shoulder pad imperial fist icon.... looks a little silly.

It stands to reason that you'll use the pad with the fist dangling off the edge and the shield with the fist as well. Four fists will look a lot less silly than two.
