I'll back for a few things but the Bones has so much stuff that even the core pledge doesn't really seam much of a value to me as there's usually only a couple items in the core set that I need/want and I'm too lazy to part things out to sell and I've probably only ever painted 10 bones things ever the material from the first KSer was horrible and turned me off to it for most things.

No official statement on what will be Black vs White bones. Does seam like all the human sized stuff will be Black. I've got a few of them on my to paint list so hopefully I'll get to that before the kser to see what I think of it (probably will like it though)

Brining in some Larry Elmore stuff from Darksword minis for Bones V from the sounds of it.

Also they mentioned briefly they are building more factory space and have ordered plastic injection machines to bring more production to the us. Very cool as I know this has a very long term goal for them.

Bones hits all of my buttons. I'd rather have a royal sampler of a hundred weird B-class minis than a beautiful yet repetitive squad of A-class minis.

It may take me years to get through all the unpainted Bones I still have but I can't really complain about more.

I've paid off every campaign by painting up a few models that I wasn't super interested in and selling them off for a reasonable price.

Don't see that changing much this time around either.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Anyone know when that sweet Dragon Turtle from the last Kickstarter will hit retail so that The Rest Of Us can buy one?

Think 3 had everything drip feed into the market after they delivered it and everything seems out now. So anytime between now and 5 being delivered.....

Has anything been previewed for 5 yet?

Well, if anyone is looking to see that Dragon Turtle from Bones IV...

I'm definitely going to sit this one out. The mini quality is just too low to excite me and you have to pay two years in advance which makes it hard to figure out what you actually want. Plus I am in the process of doing a lot of gap filling on models from the last Kickstarter...easy to pass up.

My KDM and Dark Sword miniatures are still waiting for me to be competent enough to paint them.

At least with the lower quality, mass quantity stuff, I can find then blow through and assembly-line paint enough miniatures for next week's game and not feel too bad about it.

I haven't looked at a Bones Kickstarter since seeing people generally "meh" about the first one. I was also really turned off by the first one because of the random sporadic shotgun nature of the minis you got. Have they adapted to allowing "themed" purchases via the Kickstarter?

The first one was just too spastic: "You can have dungeon minis...oh and some star troopers! Did you want chibis? How about some trash cans to go along with the chibis!" etc. Has that changed in the past couple of Kickstarters or is it steal a massive grab-bag of random gak?

I buy quite a few Bones minis even now, and will continue to do so.

The main pledge is still mostly like that, but I think they at least seperated out all the sci-fi stuff last time. There are also some tightly focused $50 expansions, last time it was:
- sci-fi stuff
- swamp stuff
- underdark stuff
- prehistoric stuff

You can also always select things from the main pledge piecemeal, tho obviously the discount is gonna be less than if you get the whole crate.

In Bones IV, I just ordered big monsters and then multiples of some specific sets like Wraiths, Snakemen and Ghost Pirates to use for Kings of War regiments. Even with that kind of piecemeal order, with shipping and EU import duties it was a much better deal than getting the same stuff at retail.

Yeah I think the last one I just paypal'ed my buddy $20 for some of the giants, but...I never got them. (mental note: text that guy!0

I'm in no rush the minis, so it's likely I'll still settle for waiting for commercial release. Bones are so reasonably priced I don't have an issue missing out on the KS discounts.

Mmm... sort of.

As Lord said, they have some themed $50 expansion sets. The smaller add-ons are themed. The main set is still random.

Some Reaper fans skipped the main set for the smaller add-ons for the same reason posters here did.

I *really* liked their Dreadmere expansion, perfect for Saltmarsh and other ne'er do well dockside goodness...

Spoiler:
City Dock Kit by Gallladoria Games, and Cobblestone Mat by Loke Battlemats.

Raft, boat, and unpainted miniatures from Reaper Dreadmere set.

Is there a list/pictures of the figures they are putting up this time somewhere? Not gonna watch an hour of reaper dudes to find out, but I'm certainly interested.

I'm from the future. The future of space

having finally gotten around to cleaning up and painting some of the bones black promo figures my local store gave me, I think I like them. The female with the crossbow looks about as good as the metal one I painted years ago. It's a bit closer to board game plastic, but not like the mantic/privateer grey "restic" garbage.

I hate having a backlog so I'll definitely be skipping the kickstarter, but I'm definitely a fan of the idea of more of the line shifting to the slightly harder grey pvc without it being the mantic type stuff.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Think it’s a full size mammoth judging by the giant pictured below it. The turntable is the same scale/size in each shot and the giant has a 28mm model in it for reference.

Recall that IRL an Elephant can carry like 2, 3 riders tops. So it's a realistically sized elephant/mammoth, not a fictional Oliphant or behemoth.

Mammoth and giants look great. The difference in quality between bones round 1 (which I backed then sold it all) vs. the most recent bones minis is astounding, so looking forward to this.
