I am 100% likely to buy that Dark Angel Veteran Funko Pop. I think it is the shield embossment I am particularly in love with. It feels like a Watcher in the Dark armed for war.

I am 200% with you. Hate Funko Pops. Very likely to pick up the Dark Angel (and maybe use it as a Dreadnight...).

I seriously can't believe that people are complaining about other people liking POP figs. Not only are they insanely popular, we pay extra to assemble and paint our own army men! Who are we to criticize someone else's hobby?

Yeah. there has been an awful amount of kink shaming in this thread by people you would think had enough thrown their way for their hard plastic fetishes.

You would not have likely been able to tell a difference between a regular Mk4 Ultramarine and this. It's not a valid complaint, sorry.

Really? I don't have a problem with it being MkX personally, but it is pretty obvious that it is from details like the rifle. Mainly the rifle, but in the complete model, the kneepads will probably be a giveaway too.

Something I only realized after I went back and looked at the artwork again -

The helmets on display are a Primaris helmet, and a beakie. There's no Mk. 7 helmet, which has been by far the most common over the last couple of decades. I'm not complaining, mind you, since I happen to prefer the beakie over the Mk. 7. But I find it a bit surprising.

For a starting wave, did you really expect it to be a Tau Fire Warrior, DE Wrack, Eldar Howling Banshee, and Steel Legion guardsman? Space Marines are the face of 40k.

If the first wave sells, you could easily see those (or Squats). Funco does some pretty deep cuts.

I don't know what you want, they are all in Mk VII. Even the BA. If anything, you should blame DA/SW dumb tendency to wear rags/bristles instead of helmets. They do that in 40K too.

As you said, it's details. Tiny ones you'd need to look up under a microscope, plus, in 40K the era of unified armor sets is long gone (just look up photo of GW tactical squad, Mk IV helmet SM wears Mk VII legs, or even better example of BA funko with VI helmet and VII legs) so round knee pads indicate nothing reducing the complain to just generic whine about Primaris.

Of course, the complainer is the guy who thinks 1 is vastly bigger number than 3 as long as 3 is associated with primaris (like "I am about to take a dump" pose all tactical SM have being somehow vastly more varied than dozens of dynamic combinations primaris can take, or typical tactical marine with bolter option only having enormously more options than the wide range of primaris guns) so I suppose not making any sense at all is pretty much par for the course.

I imagine I'll be getting the Tactical Marine to repaint in my chapters colors. I don't really care one way or the other about Funko Pops so I can't really get to much into that little shouting match but they do have different sizes, though I think it is just 4" and 6". I believe the 6" ones tend to be much bigger than the difference between standard Marine and Primaris Marine but they still could do it if they wanted to. The 6" one I have is one of the Titanfall 2 mechs with 1.5" pilot. The only one I can think of that has one of each style is Voltron where there is a regular sized five Lions version and an upcoming 6" version of the five lions version of Voltron. I wouldn't mind a 6" Crisis Suit but that won't happen.

While I personally like the Primaris Marine style (to the point that I now think older marines look a bit silly), I at least agree that this was an odd choice.
None of these Pops have the "classic" Marine helmet style with the mouth grill. And at least one of them should have.
If they really wanted an Intercessor for the UM, that's fine, but they should have given one of the other 3 the "classic" Marine helmet

The DA would have been a good choice for this and he still could have the robe & hood. But alas.

I'm still undecided on this. If I get 1, I'll want all 4. But @ probably ~$20 a pop (pun intended) for just a display model, I'd rather not
Plus, I already have 40K models of all these, albeit my DA vet has a combi-plamsa and my SW is a Longfang.

I really expected at least one fully armoured marine in classic armour as well, I bet it would also have been be the best selling of the lot, going with primaris just puts me off although I suspect it will be pretty popular with plenty of other people.

Ah well, its not like I am a big fan anyway.

Oh please. If they had went Mk3-5 you would've praised them for not going for the regular one. Hell we had people happy about the Mk6 helmet.

It's just Primaris hate and I don't buy it.

Two variants of the Blood Angel also. But that pic seems to be Sarah Kaiser's (GW's) concept art, not Funko's product pics, so who knows if both those variants will be produced.

If I had to guess, making exclusives of the Ultramarine one in other chapter colours seems like a no-brainer.

They are showing one variant of each. The extra shots are with parts removed so you can see the underlying detail.

Except the Intercessors are objectively nice and Mk10 looks good.

Just because you want to rage and squeal over the fluff doesn't mean it wasn't stylistically executed well. List what's objectively and subjectively bad about Mk10. I'll wait.

I like the Mk10 design, but I think it is a fallacy to say an aesthetic is objectively nice. Aesthetics are always individual. It goes without saying that the individual can be influenced by a variety of societal norms, but aesthetics are still inherently subjective.

The design can be objectively practical/plausible of course, but that is in no way the same as objectively good-looking, beyond it fitting within expected aesthetic norms for that culture, which still does not directly tally for the individual.

Rage and squeal ?

I am just voicing my opinion, I apologise if it upsets you.

I would have been tempted if there was a tactical marine in full armour, as I was going to get someone to repaint it for me.
