A reseen Marauder MAD-3r for me. I want one based off of the new art so badly.

Isn't Btech being relaunched? Maybe they'll have one in the new range?

Oh, man! I'd love to get one of those, but I'd like the most banged-up, weaponless one I could find (but not one with stuff already glued all over it). I'd love to make one into an Ork Looted Wagon, but I couldn't bear to do it to one in good condition and deprive some actual SM fan of it.

Keep an eye on eBay.
You quite often see damaged ones for around £20.
I managed to get a 100% complete and undamaged one for £40 a few months back.

There are 2 minis that I desperately wanted and that were sort of rare; I am pleased to say that I have acquired, built, and painted them both.

The 2002 Necron Lord:
Spoiler:

I am trying to get every Necron lord that was ever released, and I think I got them all, except the very first Egyptian-style one, because I think it's very ugly.

What made this one hard wasn't that it was hard to find, so much as I wanted it fairly cheap: you see them all the time on ebay for around $50, but sometimes you see one for about $10 from someone who doesn't realize it's rare.

After looking for about a year or so I realized I was being very silly because I make good money now and that's a stupid-ass hill to die on, so I bought one for $35; and then immediately desecrated it by adding horns to him to boot.

Ork Nob with Banna:
Spoiler:

This one actually WAS hard to find; it had been re-released in Failcast but lol obviously I wasn't buying that. I wanted the original metal one, and I did eventually find it after looking for about 6 months or so. In retrospect I sort of wish I had gotten the failcast one and fixed whatever odious nonsense came with it; turns out this mini is hideously balanced and every time it falls over, the banner breaks ever though I pinned it carefully.
Be careful what you wish for, you might get it I guess.

The final "mini" that I want and has ever elduded me is the original FW Battle Fortress.

Spoiler:

I scratchbuilt a rendition of it, but it really wasn't the same.

I still want that original Battle Fortress.

For me it's the new Khornate dragon from FW.

The rider looks like utter dog poop, but I would swap him out and convert a 40k version. I created a character a while ago who rides a Khornate dragon but never finished the model, so this would be a pretty slick way of accomplishing that dream.

Maybe. One day.

I actually got one of my Holy Grail minis a while back, it was Ashoka from Hell Dorado. Been wanting it for years and could never find one, even on Ebay. Finally found one, so I jumped on it. It had to ship all the way from the Ukraine, so it took more than a month to get to me. Really nice resin figure, thought it might have been a recast at first, but frankly in this situation didn't care.

NOT my mini, but until I can get a decent photo to happen, it gives a good look at the figure.

The Ciaphas Cain miniature. Dang I want that.

(Someday I'm going to have to buy the Brother Vinni one, just to have A Cain mini.)

I want a Ciaphas Cain miniature, but not the crap one that was briefly available for sale. I picked up the old metal Commissar with one hand behind his back a while ago to convert; I really should finish that off. I've got Jurgen and the Salamander all ready for him.

I didn't know any Hell Dorado miniatures were made in resin; all the ones I ever saw for sale (until it was sold on to whoever it was that buried it) were metal.

Yeah, I dunno. I originally thought it was supposed to be a metal figure, so I assumed the resin one I got was a recast, but later some other pics I saw online had a few as resin, also.

@Ouze, oh, the Battle Fortress, how I wish I could find one of those. Or for Forgeworld to put the damn thing back into production!

I managed to get one of the FW Fighta-bommer’s for a reasonable price last year; even with the nice plastic kit, I just wanted the old style one too. Wish I could find the Fighta too, but they just don’t seem to show up.

I don't think GW ever made an official GC Limo model - I think the ones shown with the army list were conversions of die-cast cards.

Having said that, Wargames Exclusive does a decent couple of limo models...

Not die-cast cars (there's photos of them from various angles on oldhammer groups and blogs, as Bryan Ansell has them in his personal collection now), but definitely scratch-builds.

I've heard that it was an official mini and a studio conversion, but when WD did their bit on the battle for Macragge I saw a Saul Invictus (Ultramarine 1st company captain) that I fell in love with.

From what I remember there was a captain in terminator armor that was similar in pose but used a power sword instead of fist and a storm bolter instead of the twin-linked plasma pistol.

I'm pretty sure all of the Helldorado minis were metal. The fact that you got it from Ukraine is also a bit of a red flag, as it's home to Legendarion & his Cadwallon recasting factory.

I do miss Hell Dorado though, some fantastic sculpts.

I remember that figure, it is most definitely the metal Terminator Captain converted to have a plastic Marine power fist and Captain Invictus' plasma blaster (made from two plasma pistols). I thought about making one myself, as I have two of those Captains.

Constantin Valdor, ebay is mostly recasts. The model from forgeworld is just too much and I'm not sure I play enough to ever rationalize purchasing it.

I just finished my pair recently, they are from Artel miniatures, sadly the Cain model is already OOP, though Jurgen is still available.

I check Ebay now and then, but I never have very high hopes. Even if one does appear I imagine it would be at least $400-$500.
