It's a-coming folks.

11th and 12th May, at the Ricoh Arena once again.

Warhammer Community wrote:The ultimate celebration of all things Warhammer returns this May. Get ready for another action-packed weekend, of gaming, painting, previews, and a few surprises… Held at the Ricoh Arena on the 11th and 12th May, this year’s Warhammer Fest is set to be our biggest and best yet, and you’re invited to join us.

Across the weekend, you’ll be able to get up-close and personal with the hottest upcoming releases and meet the creative minds behind the miniatures, games and settings you love. What’s more, you can join us for a selection of seminars, tutorial pods, video game demos and hobby demonstrations – however you enjoy Warhammer, you’ll be spoilt for choice with things to do.

If you’re looking to flex your competitive muscles, there will also be a range of tournaments running across the weekend – Kill Team, Warhammer Underworlds, Warhammer Champions and Blood Bowl. We’ve chosen skirmish-sized games for this year’s event so you can easily transport your miniatures to and from the venue* and have plenty of time between rounds to enjoy the rest of the show.

There are plenty of opportunities for shoppers, too – a dedicated show-store will let you pick up event-exclusive miniatures, as well as Forge World kits and officially licensed merchandise and apparel.

Tickets for Warhammer Fest will go on sale this weekend. You’ll have a range of options – you can secure a ticket for one or both days. Saturday gets you in first to see all the new reveals including the Warhammer Preview, while Sunday lets you stare in awe at the incredible entries in the Golden Demon painting contest or enter the competition yourself.

There will also be discounted tickets available for children, for a Warhammer-themed family day out.

As always, demand for tickets is expected to be high – so be sure to grab yours early to avoid disappointment.

I've been to all the previous ones, and have found them worthwhile for a day out. For those that are old enough to remember Games Day, it's kinda like that - but on a much smaller scale. This for me is a good thing, as one doesn't feel particularly rushed when chatting with the designers, allowing for more interesting conversations.

Pre-release are expected from FW and SG, as are seminars, at least for Heresy and SG - possibly 40k and AoS as well.

If you've nowt better to do that weekend, and it's not out of your price range, defo worth popping it in your diary, and I'll see you there!

Fed up of Scalpers? But still want your Exclusives? Why not join us?

If it looks like, I will more than likely be doin' a Loot on the Saturday or Sunday for my group.

And yeah, it would be nice to see more stuff shown off for AT! And indeed Necromunda. And other SG.

Me and a friend are hoping to go on the Saturday, I’ve not been to an event like this before. Looking forward to it.

I'll be there again, with four more guys from the Norse Dakka contingent. :-)
We went over for the weekend last year, booked rooms at the venue and ambled about the place throughout the event.
It was great, we got to see all we wanted, and I ended up talking to Robbie Mcniven in the elevator, which was funny since the only miniature I entered in the GD was a Carcharodon marine. :-)

Top tip?

Bring bottles of water. There are food places in the venue, but queues can be lengthy, and they’re not especially cheap. So having water to hand can help.

Other than that, just take your time. Whilst there’s usually a good amount to see, there’s plenty of time to see it in. No need to rush around!

I’m hoping I can repeat the feat of the one two years ago, where I was first to show that AT was returning. BoLS then used my pics, and failed to give credit. Because it’s run by (I’ll leave that there)

Thanks for the advice! How do the seminars work, do you sign up for them on the day? I don’t want to miss the preview seminar.

Looking forward to new spoilers.

Going by GW's current pace, everything already announced will already be out by then.

Last year they handed out access armbands on a first come - first pick basis, right by the entrance. We were at the very front of the line, so we got our pick, but you might need to be there early if you want to get to your chosen one.

Make sure you get there early as they just dish them out first come first served, I wasn't able to get into any last time I went and I was queuing up before it opened.

I think I might drop by. It isn't too far from me, and its always fun to visit GW events, especially if you want to nab some FW goodies.

They did indeed, but (I think) we haven't heard anything on a repeat of that yet.

We were staying at the hotel, so we had a super early breakfast, and sustained ourselves on coffee for the next couplenof hours... I think it would have been about 8.00 or so?

Yeah, I usually aim to arrive late because I abhor Queuing. I'll be going purely for the GD so as long as I can get my entries in I'll be happy.

I listened to the AoS series of podcasts yesterday. Wade asked virtually every guest about skirmish games in AoS. Jervis said that the studio knows that not everyone wants to play 2000 point games. It was refreshing to hear that.
If I was a betting man, I would be tempted to say that event is going to showcase Warcry, which I desperately hope will be a formal AoS skirmish game.

Sadly those arms resemble mittens more than crab claws. The hoof department is also lacking, other than that - not too bad, And I dig the FW paintjob technique for once.

I’m really not sure if they’re organic claws or not. Elbow joint suggests not, but paintjob largely suggest so.

So, it's the same Minotaur model, just with a different head and arms?
Why do Necromunda models look so good (usually) compared to Blood Bowl models?
