So my friend (who asked me to keep his name out of it) forwarded me this, it's HIS summary of GW's recent video conference with retailers about the upcoming SoB release. Apparently there's a lot of nervousness among independent retailers (and GW managers though not publicly) about whether a 'girl army' can sell and Nottingham is worried they might low ball orders leading to shortages and killing momentum for the army so they had this call to boost enthusiasm and reassure the retail eco-sphere. He was taking notes while on the call so forgive any errors. He also threw in some screen shots, the resolution ain't great but it's something.

* GW understands this is new territory, Witch Hunters was a long time ago and Codex SoB even longer, some store managers weren't even born then. So there's no recent sales history to guide orders and they want to stress this will be a huge launch, and retailers should order expecting Primaris level numbers.

* The initial wave will include a plastic Immolator, a plastic/resin Exorcist, plastic Frateris Militia (with both a female and male sets), Sister Cestine and two bodyguards, a painting guide, a BL omnibus of SoB novels and a codex.

* There will also be SoB-branded Rhinos, Predators and Demolishers as well as a special DoB drop pod set to make the Ordo Hereticus strikeforce detachment

* SoB decal sheets will be available

* Sorry decals are mail order only.

* Also look for a Kill Team SoB box with St Celestine and a ruined temple.

* The Militia will be really grimdark, covered in robes, candles and weapons that look like homemade parodies of weapons carried by the Emperor's servants.

* New special character St O'Lander (sp?), keeps with the theme of death and rebirth but she's more of a ghost to Cestine's angel look. White robes and hood, great flying effect.

* She'll be able to summon some sort of spirits or ghosts who suck psychic energy. Really good flying effect but also easy build, comes in turquoise plastic.

* Another saint (!!) Arabelle (sp?) some sort of spirit of life, angel wings but nature looking with a fleurs de lis spear and halo mounted a giant xenos beast.

* There was some trouble on the line here when someone asked about the plastic sisters kit, kind of vague answers, nothing specific, couldn't get a price point or how many kits. Lots of cross talk, all I caught was something about sleeves and veils.

* New sisters unit, heavier armor, shields, CC weapons, reportedly taller than most Sisters, some kind of primaris maybe? not sure. Heard the word Eternals used for them.

* There will be ton of Sisters-appropriate terrain including a line of fortifications that captures the sisters' obsession with self-sacrifice where the bodies of the slain are literally part of the walls.

* The classic metal line will get one last splash launch with a 2 weeks made to order. There was some commotion on the line when someone asked if retailers can carry the MTO stuff lots of back and forth, stories not happy if they can't get a cut of this, GW rep said they'd consider it.

* A lot of excitement about a Sisters flier, some sort of ground support plane like an A10.

* Never mind, it's Forge World only.

* Hard at work finalizing the codex, based on playtesting and feedback the acts of faith are being rewritten "from the ground up". Someone asked about affecting ship dates. GW got a big laugh when they said "have faith", kind of had to be there.

So lots of excitement and enthusiasm from Nottingham, but some skepticism from the retail end. Strange they didn't have a shot of the Sisters kit to show.

The good news is they look to be about the size of the Shieldwolf sisters, so there's lots of conversion potential.

Kinda pissed I spent so long tracking down enough metal sisters to play last year, but that's just me being grumpy. >_>

I got a link to some slightly larger screen shots, the resolution still isn't great but it's something.

Don't spread these around too much though.

They look good, but I already went in on the Raging Heroes KS for their not-Sisters, so I don't need more infantry. Will have to pick up that flyer and terrain, though.

Is it just me or is that new saint not wearing any pants?

It's sad that for me the most exciting part is the militia, I'm always looking for civilians/cultists/IG to add to my collection and love the idea of a 40k version of flagellants.

I mean we know what Sisters look like, as Tannhauser pointed out there's already a couple of 3rd party lines out there that put the 90s sisters to shame. Raging Heroes, Wargames Exclusive and those Greek guys just off the top of my head.

Let's see something new!

Thanks for expanding upon what the new sisters will look like. I knew some of these but most definitely didn't know about some of the others.

I think I am most excited by the ghost saint, to be honest. They all look pretty good.

I really like the look of the militia, too - especially the lashed-together look of some of the weapons (like lasguns with bayonets strapped on).

That techno-whip thing in the next image, though... not sure what I think about that lol, doesn't really have the same vibe to me.

Almost missed this bit

So the SoB are getting access to the full range of Rhino chassis? I assume Demolisher means... Devastators? Whatever the artillery Rhinos are called. Demolishers are the Leman Russ though and I assume they're not getting those.

Could this be another nail in the coffin for Secundus Marines?

"That one heavily armored sister looks terrific - very streamlined, and beefy. Brutal. The big blood drop iconography on her sword, is that some kind of Blood Angel relic or similar? I know that the Sisters fixed up the Lamenter's banner, so maybe there is some fluff there."

"I get that the idea of self-sacrifice is really important to the sororitas, but it sort of comes across as the designers using ctrl+V in zbrush or whatever. I also wonder, with these consecrated relics, would the sisters really use them as corpse spackle? Maybe, I guess they have no shortage of them."

"No surprise retailers are getting shafted on direct-only decals, that seems to be a thing GWS likes to do. Kind of a bummer, since those really do take a model from 9 to 10 in my opinion. Hopefully they won't also be limited edition"

Sorry, my buddy asked me to remove the screen shots. Worried they might point back to him somehow and he'd hate to lose access to these calls.

If you saved them PLEASE do not repost. Comments are fine.

Vindicator.

Giving all of the rhino variants to sisters would make sense given that Primaris Marines don't get them... let's them keep selling those kits, I suppose.

Pretty sure O'Leander would be a reference to Oleander. It's a (very poisonous) flower.

I was hoping they would go for more of a Grimdark The office look. We could have had a ninja/assissin character with short sleeves and a tie... I suppose these will make for a more cohesive look.

Typical luck of mine by the time I peep in all the pics are gone. But alright, at least most of this sounds cool. Though i'm not thrilled about more flying stuff, not a big fan of that. I like my warriors with feet firmly grounded. The militia sounds cool though.
