Found here, a new strat for a BLOODLETTERS unit. The wording seems to indicate that I will not be able to benefit from any reroll to hit auras, such as a Prince’s. Do people concur?

“Roll a d6; if the result equals or exceeds this model’s Ballistic Skill...”.
Appears that this is not a To Hit roll.

Agreed, it doesn't say it's a to hit roll, so abilities which allow rerolls of to hit rolls won't do anything here.

Also agreed. It's not a to hit roll, it's a bespoke rule.

RAW It's not a to hit roll, but they probably meant it to be one, so watch for an FAQ about it.

I can't imagine why you would say it is intended to be a Hit Roll. It would have been WAY easier to write the rule as a shooting attack than they way it is written.

Because of GW's track record. They do not do anything "WAY easier"

It seems like something they would do. Write a rule worded like that and expect people to know it is supposed to be a to hit roll when it is not written like that. Then the eventual faq to change it. Just a hunch though.

Yeah like remember when the RaW said you can't charge units on an upper level of a ruin if there isn't space to put your models, and then GW replied with an FAQ... oh wait.

There are plenty of examples of GW writing one thing and then reversing it in an FAQ...

You know this because you call it a "Special Snowflake FAQ" Or do you not remember?

In one post you even said "thanks to GW issuing Special Snowflaking FAQs like they are going out of style instead of writing their rules correctly."

You are claiming what they "probably" meant it to be, not "GW has a history of ignore the RaW when issuing FAQs".

The rule is clear, until GW change it, it is what it is.

As I said... RAW It's not a to hit roll.

It is also clear that "GW has a history of ignore the RaW when issuing FAQs" Everything I have said is true. Because there are many examples of them changing rules through the FAQ's.
