this was posted wednesday morning on the Wargames Atlantic facebook page.

Good news! All pre-orders for Persians, Afghans, Dark Age Irish, Fauns, Centaurs, and Grognards have shipped for our customers in Australia, New Zealand, and the rest of Asia. Our USA shipment is on a train somewhere between LA and Atlanta for arrival at the end of the week. The boat to the UK has was at this location in the Atlantic about 7 hours ago steaming toward the Southampton.

That sounds ominous. Beware of icebergs, sea serpents, and mysterious submersible vessels.

Those Sci-Fi military humans look darn good. GW levels of good. Not to mention you get 24 of them for $35. That's only 40% the cost of GW Cadians. Also, the Grognards come with 192 heads!!!

Isn't that Lee Marvin?

Come to think of it, the first one reminds me a bit of Doug McClure, too.

I have a funny feeling that Lee Marvin head is going to end up in a LOT of various projects!

Might need him for a new Shadows of Brimstone character!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Plastic Spanish Napoleonics are a godsend for historical wargamers everywhere. I don't for the life of me know why the Perrys, Victrix, or Warlord haven't jumped on this earlier.

They were too busy with more important projects like “French Line Infantry inserting baguette up their arse on September 6th, 1809.”

I suspect simply because there are so many relatively cheap metal alternatives

probably pretty old and not great in many cases but it means there's a lot of competition, and the plastic might not have the price advantage you'd expect coming from a fantasy/sf background where metals are a lot more expensive

My old 25mm Napoleonics group never had a Spanish player. It was majority British, followed by French (of which I was one), 1 Prussian, 1 Brunswicker, 1 Duchy of Warsaw, and the owner had Austrians he let us borrow to teach people who did not have an army. Later, when I was off at college, the 25mm group had vanished, and there were some 15mm players. Still no Spanish. It just seems no one at that store had any interest in Spanish. How typical that is of Napoleonic groups I don't know, but it is possible that there was not enough interest to make plastic Spanish economically viable before.

For those of you not in the Wargames Atlantic legion Facebook group, we've been collecting and discussing conversions using the sci fi death fields kits.

I thought the following example of Grognards with death korps esque heads would be interesting to you all.

Damn, that just looks GOOD.

I'm torn about getting some of these. I love them, the price is right, and the conversion potential is great. The problem is that I all ready have a ton of Catachans, and they won't fit that well. On the other hand, I do need some counts-as Mechanicus.

The picture is work blocked for me but the ultimate budget Krieg would be a box of les Grognards twinned with the gasmask heads from the WWI Germans.

That would give you the WWI German/ French twist or the FW Krieg. Standby for the Grognards heavy weapons!

There's a fair amount of super affordable (nearly as cheap as plastics) really nice Napoleonics in metal from companies such as Avanpost and Three Armies. Avanpost in particular might be the best Napoleonics ever sculpted and are dirt cheap.

In fact Warlord has bought/is buying the Three Armies ranges and their first (re)release are their Spanish infantry, except cast in the new Warlord resin instead of the original metals.

I'm very interested in the plastic spiders and am getting impatient to see concepts, prototypes, or tooling samples!

I think I'm pretty well covered on Wargames Atlantic's normal channels for previews, but just in case, I haven't missed the spiders anywhere, have I?

They were posted on our wargames Atlantic legion page. Having 3 resin printers myself, I'd hazard they were 3d printed.

So all I have are warlord games macedonians but I think they work fine with them. off-center photo because if it was in center everybody would be blurry because of the pike messing with focus.

The 3 new sets - afghans, Irish and Persians - as well as RGD's fauns, are in the USA warehouse. We are currently coding pre-orders into the shipping system. It will be a day or so untill things start shipping across the US.

If you want to get any last minute pre-orders in, now's the time.
