Subject: Re:Wargames Atlantic: New kit poll, page 53
For the cyberpunk security I hope they get some really good concept art for the sculpts as poorly executed cyberpunk can easily turn into ..the Stargrave looking miniatures.
They should partner with Postindustrial Games (who made Human Interface Be a Better Human) for designs. They have the absolute best cyberpunk designs imo.

I assumed there would be some diversity of design on the cyberpunk security sprue. You’d need the police state riot gear with corporate logos guys, the trenchcoat guys, the VR Hacker guys, the jacked-in chair jockeys. There should be lots of “hacking” hands and holo-controls bits, right?
A little bit The Matrix, a little bit Tekwar.

I think that is more the cyberpunk gangers concept. I hope the security forces are more the riot control corporate logo and police state types.
Maybe one trenchcoat body....
I wouldn't think there would be hacking or holo hands, just futuristic guns, drones, and batons.
Winged Hussars didn't make the list? A POX! A POX ON THIS ENTIRE BUSINESS!
At the very least, it doesn't look like anything thats already out there really made the cut, but I seriously wonder how large the market for Landsknecht Ogres actually is...

Hard to say based on the lack of description.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Galahad, what would make them cyberpunk then? Sounds like you’re describing a Stargrave set.

Divided my votes between Modular Robots, Sci-fi Civilians, and multi-species aliens.
For those who want Cyberpunk security, PostIndustrial Games is having a 30% off sale on boxed sets. The game itself is indifferent at best, but there are some good sculpts. https://shop.hint-thegame.com/

Landsknecht ogres are the biggest surprise for me. They are a niche within a niche that already has lots of resin and 3d print options.
Robed and hooded cultists could do really well in plastic. You do the standard fantasy/pulp/sci fi split for the weapons. They could be broadly useful.
The frostgrave ones are nice (I've painted a bunch) but they are definitely on the small side for fantasy or sci-fi use.
The only ones I'd really rather not see from this poll are the two modern military ones as I have an absolute load of Warlord Games Spec Ops that existed for like 2 months before they dropped the whole modern survivor line https://www.warlordgames.com/new-project-z-spec-ops/

Posters on ignore list: 36
40k Potica Edition - 40k patch with reactions, suppression and all that good stuff. Feedback thread here.
Gangs of Nu Ork - Necromunda / Gorkamorka expansion supporting all faction. Feedback thread here.
Ouch, this final vote was painful, with 3/4 of it being stuff I previously voted for. I ended up settling on:
1) Apoc Survivors
2) Scifi Civilians
3) Death Fields Pirates
I'm nursing a strong feeling of regret for not voting hooded cultists though. There are already so many other options, but I will never not buy more robed nutters with guns.
OrlandotheTechnicoloured wrote: I like a lot of the options, (no hussars?) but I went for Cyberpunk NPCs (well PCs really),
Deathfields Space Pirates & WWI Italians
What is the appeal of WW1 Italians, specifically? Did they have snazzy uniforms? Cool helmets?
Cultists, SF civilians, cyberpunk security for me. In that order.
Medieval townsfolk would trump all of them, but Dungeons & Lasers have us covered.
n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.
It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion. By the juice of the brew my thoughts aquire speed, my mind becomes strained, the strain becomes a warning. It is by tea alone I set my mind in motion.

many snazzy hats among some show above for alpine and bersaglieri (and there aren't any in plastic that I know of)

Here’s the thing,
(I’m fine because a lot of stuff I liked is there).
The whole point was for the top 10 kits by vote.
But this is the top 3 from four hugely varied votes.
So, not many historical made the list. But the 4th, 5th and 6th place ideas from let’s say day 2, could have been higher than everything from day 3 and 4.
Because the polls were randomly mashed ideas together per day, it’s quite a skewed result potentially.

You are due a boxset of something. Let Wargames Atlantic you proposed them so some chancer doesnt get your prize.
My trolls didnt make it. :(

Well... my #1 made it... but it seems like a lot of you guys are surprised it did.
Landsknecht Ogres. Well actually Winged Hussars were my #1 but, close enough.
Not super interested in the SCI-fi stuff. But Robots could be nice.
My pathfinder home brew game, Magic-Hating Theocracy needs their ogre shock troops to fight the magic using PC's... The conquistadors will be the regular human troops in said Papal army.
I voted for apocalyptic survivors, modular robots, and modern military. Apocalyptic Survivors were my suggestion, though I'm sure a lot of other people suggested them too. Now I just need to see if I was first or not.

At 12 for $35, I would skip them unless they looked really good or had some amazing bits options. Which they probably wouldn’t, because Landsknechts. Still, there seem to be a lot of people who want them in plastic. I hope you get them, especially if all of you are willing to buy multiple boxes.
