I never would have guessed.

But that’s good news: more bodies to stick lizard heads on.

Well huh, i don't think that's something most people expected. Also i wonder if anyone will still remember this poll by the time these are actually in production.

Shame for the sci fi pirates.
That would've been an amazing kit for many reasons.

Is this revenge of the historical players? Nothing good for them so all vote for the most ridiculous option? I don't hate it but I expected it to be dead last as it's for sure the most niche of all of them.

Hopefully KoW and T9A players will be all over this (Oldhammer players probably not) or I fear WGA might sell fewer boxes total than they'd sell modular robots just to me alone

I, for one, love this.

The thing about 40k is that no one person can grasp the fullness of it.

I love me some ogres but I would have prefered mirmidon/gladiator/roman/Warlords of Draenor styled ones than the old landskanete look... but alas. As an ogre fanboy I'll have to buy a couple boxes.

T9A maybe, in KoW don't think so, yet Imperial Ogres were a big thing during 5th Edi Warhammer that were the models were always out of stock and we saw them later return as mercenaries for Ogre Kingdoms
Much more Oldhammer nostalgia than anything else here

Oh well. At least the polls and discussion they spawned were fun. But yes, I've little use for ogres, Landsknecht or otherwise. Have two units of them for KoW allies, and that's all I need.

Edit: There's a slim chance for modular robots, depending on how the draw goes.

If the size is comparable, I can easily see someone buying a box for themed Maneaters

Judging by all existing kits, they will be very comparable

I just... can't see them actually being big sellers. Curious to see if they end up being a success for WGA, of course we'll never actually know unless they end up repeating this little experiment (i.e. picking kits from customer polls) in the future.

Well if they never do another poll, we'll know they weren't big sellers.

Yeah, I really don't understand why that won or why people are so excited about it. I don't really see the appeal of them, just ogres in fancy clothes. But I guess plenty of people want them, so I hope they do well.

Maybe they'll line up design- wise with the Conquistadors, who have a bit of Landsknecht flair as it is. Or have some bits that would let them be more pirate- like?

It's just such an oddly specific type of Ogre. I love ogres too, but I'm not too sure about this one.

Obviously it's too early to pass judgement. Curious how big they'll be.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Clearly, enough people seem to think they want this. A bunch of ogres in fancy uniforms doesn’t fit any of my personal visions of them. Or more importantly, my wants. Good luck to those who do, and WGA.

Hopefully for the sake of WGA all the people who voted for the niche within the nostalgia niche put their money where their mouth is.

I think it is far more likely they go on sale not long after launch.

I’m hoping there will be some additional heads, perhaps demon heads, oni heads or alien heads. A few additional bits could make this very niche kit more versatile.

If they make the bodies generic enough with enough variety of heads to make with the same kit, landskanete, pirates and conquistadores ogres, maybe I coul see more of an appeal for it.

Depends on the variety of bodies on the sprue.

And Ogre heads on Landsknecht body? Same difference. Take a creature that normally wears a fur loincloth and carries a club and give it armor and clothes. I’d like to see multiple head option that fit the same build as an ogre, so if you have better ideas please share them.

I meant just that a japanese demon/ogre wearing the clothes of a lanknecht would be weird, and this kit is supposed to be lancknecht ogres not general ogres so I do not see it being friendly to other ideas.

Maybe it could be a dual kit with Ogre Pimps

They should at a minimum add on conquistador style helmets so people can use them with their conquistadors.

I would prefer some sort of hairy creature heads as alternative heads, but I'm uniquely to buy this box anyways. Maybe they just double down on whatever nostalgia factor drove this madness? Make the perfect niche within a niche box?

I definitely agree with Conquistador helmets and wish to suggest Pirate heads/hats as well. Might as well get as much bang out of that box as possible without getting too far from the Landsknecht starting point.

A big selling point would be to just add some extra more generic legs so KoW players can use the box to upgrade their "missed leg day" Ogres from Mantic

The more I think about it, the more I could imagine these making some good Boomers and Leadbelchers, given the proper equipment.

Which in turn could make some good pirate and conquistador types for sure.

WGA must want me to start another Ogre army.
