Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

OP and thread title have been updated with most recent images and trailer.

I'll be getting one and the codex for sure, if only for the right-handed gauntlet.

I have to say that the new Chaos Knight actually looks much better than the resin kit from Forge World.

I've noticed the thigh armour on these ones is a bit cooler than the Imperials, and no separate knee armour. I'll probably buy one of these for the new fist and gun, slap an Imperial face on it and maybe a Mechanicus carapace/shoulders, do a bit of scraping to get rid of the spikes and teeth etc, make a new loyalist Knight w/o too much hassle.

The underlying skeleton, new gun, and thigh plating look suspiciously unchaosy, almost like they are on separate sprues from the melee weapons and other armor plates. I wouldn't be surprised to see these knights with a couple new sprues subbed in for the distinctly Chaos sprues and released as new Imperial Knights somewhere down the line.

Assuming of course that these new bodies weren't designed to work with the existing Questoris platting and weapons and we get a dataslate for a variant with that gun in White Dwarf or something.

Either way, it'll add some nice variety to a knight army without having to cut up and repose Questoris legs.

Edit: aaaaaand the above sprues pic kinda destroys that first theory of mine.

It's a completely new kit that uses none of the original sprues. It may use the same key parts and components from the loyalist kit, but the sprues are all new and unique to this kit.

Obviously. What I was saying is that it might be compatible with existing sprues or additional compatible new Imperial sprues might be further down the line.

Still could be. The above sprue doesn't have the gun or the thigh plates? (from what I can see). They might have a multi-kit sprue in this Chaos Knight kit that can also be included in future Imperial Knight box. Probably not but maybe.

Yep looks more detailed than the current sprue with battle damage etc.

Oh wow, the legs are also completely different. I don't mind reposing the current legs but for anyone that can't be fussed doing that this kit will have very significant utility.

My loyalist Knights have so much leg envy right now

I think the underlying frame being free of Chaos gribblyness is so they don't look out of place next to Traitor Knights converted from the existing kits.

And now I need probably a bigger knight and a dex.....

Altough the added Chaos sprue for amirigers is a but underwhelming..

I had thought that the Armigers were just conversions. This Castellan is clearly just a kit bash

But looking at this Armiger those thigh plates are clearly new parts

Yep, he has two of them but the other one has a Chaosy bit strapped onto it (can see the crenelated bits underneath), then you look at the eight point star on the pilot hatch and it's obviously stuck on and too big. I suppose the Armiger sprues are more constrained in space (the Imperials don't have any stick-on bits like alternative icons).

Nah those are the standard Warglaive thigh pads, and the curved spike rack on its shoulder is from the existing CSM tank sprue.

Honestly some forgefiend parts could've worked wonders on these.

Those Armigers are the standard kits with some Chaos bits glued on.

I bet you one new Armiger kit that there's a new Chaos Armiger release with new shoulders and thighs (at a minimum).

That's not a Warglaive sprue though is it?

That's a Helverin sprue.

This is the Warglaive sprue.

The only new kit is the Chaos Knight. The Armigers and Dominus’s are conversions. They said that in the seminar.

Yeah I just came back to delete that after seeing the Helverin (Edit/ Warglaive!) but I'm too late
Also I retract my offer of a bet!

The Warglaives have castellated shoulder pads that are different to the Helverins. That's a Helverin sprue and the Armiger in the video is a Warglaive.

EDIT: Too late...

That's not battle damage, it's where the giant spikes glue on to look like they burst through from underneath.

I totally want to play a Chaos Renegade Knight army now. Think that'll make me "That Guy"?

Nah, because it's still Chaos. It'll be better than we have now(minus I doubt we'll keep double Avengers), but it'll still be not as good as the non-spikey version.

I hope not, otherwise we'll be 'those guys'

Disappointed that they tooled all new sprues for a design that accomplishes nothing they couldn't do with one sprue of chains and spikes. What a waste.
