I hate to fat-shame a model but the Banshee looks a bit on the 'heavy' side for me. The 1st & 2nd ed were far slimmer & agile-looking. The hair looks really 'clumpy' too. :(

It is probably Omnis, but it is still a bit different. It has Phobos lower leg shape, an extra set of wings and actual jets on the backpack. This looks more like a proper jump pack that could proper a marine.

I had ordered an extra Suppressor Sergeant model to convert into a Primaris-scale jump captain, but I think I'll use Shrike as a basis of that conversion instead.

Sounds about right. GW learn nothing from Star Wars or countless other properties by explaining away things that never needed explaining. Mystery is part of the appeal of some things.

I cannot agree enough.

Bonecrons are awful. How do you get skeleton warriors so wrong?

The 40k campaign just means they are going to ruin the fluff even more.

Warhammer legends sounds like an excus for cutting a bunch of models from the product range.

But then they win me back with plastic aspect warriors and sisters of battle. Didn't see the aspect warriors coming and if they stay true to the original designs like that banshee I'll be buying up a bunch of them.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

They're not skeleton warriors, they're bone golems. There are plenty of sources for normal boring skeletons if that's what you want.

The new sisters are great, the new shrike is eh, and the faction symbols I am surprised they didn’t have the adepta astra telepathica, or at least sisters of silence.

I wonder if we will see the return of the Necron Pariah?

Honestly I think GW doesn't know what to do with the Sisters of Silence. They are heavily overshadowed by Sisters of Battle and the best move GW could have made - putting Sisters of Silence into Custodes - appears to be a move GW doesn't want to make.

So Sisters of Silence are left out with their 1 model kit from GW and 1 transport from FW (baring in mind their rhino is just a rhino painted gold). It's a great 3 in 1 kit, but they are still 1 model box.

I think the other problem is that visually Sisters of Silence would just be "female Custodes" or "Gold Sisters of Battle". So they are kinda an army that's copy-catting two others at once.

I think they either need wrapping into another force or GW has to go and do a massive make-over for them; with the risk that its yet another space marine army.

They were a fluffy 30K unit orphaned in 40K and won’t get support.

Well, they are already stuffed into the Adepta Astra Telepathica, and with that symbol being thrown out every trailer you’d think there’d be something. Especially with this trailer being ‘the Psykers are coming, reee’

Fold them into Custodes, hey presto Talons of the Emperor are back.

Problem solved.

Solves two problems at once - since that also answers the "What new stuff do Custodes get from Psychic Awakening?" question.

Given that the Telepathica is where the Black Ships fall under, it kinda makes a hell of a lot more sense for the Sisters of Silence to be there than your "stuffed into" suggests.

So Necrons are getting something for the new psy campaign.

Anyone else hoping its the triumphant return of the Pariah?

Sorry, but it's going to be the Blackstone Pylons...

That comment is only partially in jest. Psychic Awakening seems to tie in to the Belisarius Cawl novel we saw previewed at the Black Library Open Day, and Cawl has made getting his hands on as much Blackstone as possible a priority. He's got a frigging intact Cadian Pylon to study!

I'm hoping that Necrons see Pariahs and Pylons show up. Just like I'm hoping AdMech brings in the Skitarii Primus...

I wish, but I am more than a little worried that we get some silly data-sheet, or formation, or whatever they call those sorts of things nowadays...

Or, just some Relics/Strategems that can allow a character to have some anti-Psychic abilities.

My thoughs exactly. Just the exact replica of an existing model is far from GWs MO, they usually ad a new gimmick weapon to make sure you update your models. The lack of flimsy might be the result of them dualkiting it with a brand new unit -and why not an ynnari equivalent of aspects, forsaking Khaine for the death god in a baroqe mirror of the original aspect.
Dramaturgically speaking it feel like something GW could have been holding back updating aspectwarriors for this long.
Pure speculation ofcourse, but it just seems strange we wait all this time and get the exact same model, basically.

I like the new Shrike model even though I'm a Tau player, although maybe it's because the armour evokes some battlesuit/anime mecha imagery.

It could also be that I enjoyed Panic at the Disco's "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" album back in the day even though I prefer EDM.

I reckon it will be an announcement that 30k is going to be set up as its own studio, and new and updated normal sized FW models and vehicles will be produced in plastic going forward.

The amount of handwringing here over Shrike having some bangs is hilarious. The model is going to look nice in person. Huge improvement over the existing version.

Nah. 30K ran its course and peaked quite a while back. Black Library is wrapping it up with 3rd tier authors and the Nolan Fanboy edge-lord "we-take-40K-super-super-serious-and-only-want-desaturated-colours-and-no-humour" crowd has luckily faded a bit these days, allowing GW to get back to some classic 40K fun (outside of a 2014ish design-leftover failures like like Adeptus Titanicus).
