Blood Angel Chapter Master with Wings

Shrike is a missed opportunity to me... first beakie helm on a primaris and instead of integrating it they stick it on like something they found in the bitz box. Would have preferred it on and have some kind of update to the design to add some wow factor.
Also now I imagine him incessantly flipping his bangs out of his eyes like a suburban 12 year old dudebro and that is not amping his bad-ass factor up for me.
Overall nothing is really clicking for me, everything looks stuck on or really basically converted to me, including the pose, the backpack (jump pack?) and all the rest. Only the lightning claws stick out as spot on for me. YMMV.

Dunno, but if it is, they'll have to have something to fill in the divet that the helmet on his belt no doubt sits in.
Im slightly disappointed in the Warcry announcement. It feels too much like Commanders for Killteam, at least at first glance. I do like the option to hunt giant monsters though, those will no doubt be fun missions, even more so if you're fighting a rival warband while trying to kill a beast.
Otherwise, the releases all look interesting at least. Would have hoped to see more about Psychic Awakening for 40k, sort of an anemic announcement.

They haven't, but looking at the model it's only attached to his belt by the back edge of the neck rim, so it wouldn't be a difficult job to snip it off and replace his head with it.

You'd be surprised. The 'ranged weapons' for all the Warcry warbands are just pieces with a bit that fits over the loops on the belts rather than filling a divot or the like.

I suppose that's true, my Splintered Fang with the little extra knives are like that.
I would hope they have a helmeted option. NeVer been a fan of uncovered heads in a space game... unless their aliens like Nids.

You'd be surprised. The 'ranged weapons' for all the Warcry warbands are just pieces with a bit that fits over the loops on the belts rather than filling a divot or the like. They aren't "range weapon", they're abilities that deal damage at range. Fighters with range abilities like that may have the said weapon held in their hand. But fighters with actual range weapon always have a distinct model with said weapon held in hand. Carnikang wrote: I suppose that's true, my Splintered Fang with the little extra knives are like that. The only range weapon Splintered Fang had is whip, spear, and throwing dart for the Caller. They have no range abilities. The knives are cosmetic addon, they do not represent anything.

Dunno why people whine about new model. Haircut? Seriously? You guys know most chapters have their own traditional ones? I like how primaris range tries to diversify marines and make them look like actual distinct groups, small loud minority (that curiously enough bleated about primaris being 'too bland' before) complains about them being too different now
That and I also realized what it reminded me of - one of the most iconic SM ever written:
If you guys don't like it that much, I'll gladly take it off you, I have Blood Raven eliminator sergeant waiting for this bit
Galef wrote:I do like the redesign of Lightning Claws. Instead of being Powerfists with Knives attached, they look like "proper" retractable Claws
Yeah, old claws looked beyond stupid. Why they incorporated whole power fist shell (but none of the punch) making hands of the marine useless? Yes, even in this model you'd have problems doing a lot of stuff but at least you won't be foiled by a doorbell next to land raider door

I think people have been pretty clear why they don't like the miniature. The fact that you immediately resort to saying that they're having a "whine" says a lot more about you than it does the people expressing their misgivings with Shrike.

Funny how many different people saying something is either a sign of near-consensus, or just a "loud minority" when they are saying something you disagree with...
Unless of course you have the customer research data to back up your claims. And that the people complaining about X are the very same people complaining about the opposite of X before. (Although these two complaints are hardly contradictory; one might like a difference, but not this solution to it.)
If you like it, good for you.
If you don't like it, good for you.
Your opinion is not wrong or right. Neither is another person's. It's a bloody opinion. People stating their opinion is kind of what these threads are for. So let's get back to that.
In my opinion, a haircut that covers your fething eyes is not a good look for a soldier, even aside from cultural connotations. As a matter of fact, not wearing a helmet isn't great to begin with. As it happens, both issues can likely be solved in one go. (Not that I'm a fan of the rest either, but no need to repeat myself.)

I'm kind of amused by everyone calling it the emo head.
Guys, people who don't like or listen to music you'd consider 'emo' also have fringes. Oh em gee, right? I've seen popular jocky types with hair like that right down to stoner wasters.
Marine heads with hair that aren't the weird space wolves ones or crappy BA bowl cuts is to be commended. Not everyone's a fan of those ridiculous tiny mohawks (what space marine is really cultivating that? They'd either shave it all or grow it).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Nobody is whining about the model. Learn to accept that different people like different things.
And no, being 'too different' is not the complaint.
Why they incorporated whole power fist shell (but none of the punch) making hands of the marine useless?
Because originally they were powerfists with blades on them. When the rules changed, they left the design more or less the same.

Well yeah, It's emo because it's Raven Guard even though they aren't very emo at all and would be more goth anyway... The negativity is because it's a space marine with his fringe covering his eye. This should be pretty self explanatory. oddly enough I might start a Raven Guard force lead by a kitbashed version of this guy. Keeping the head as my problems with it are the pose and base.

Amusingly, that haircut under a helmet is even worse. As once the hair is in the eyes, there's nothing to be done but stop, take the helmet off and fix it. And it'll happen numerous times.
So Shrike sneaking about involves him stopping and fiddling with his helmet repeatedly. And tripping over his spurs and foot guards, trying to stop all his decorations from knocking together and generally being the most incompetent stealth specialist in the entire galaxy.
Hilarious model, but not a good one.
Well said on opinions though.

I've seen them. But also the haircut has been associated with emo scene first and strongly, so you might as well argue mohawks aren't associated with punk movement. Sure, there's all sorts of people with mohawks, but it's still a pop-culture icon to easily identify the character as "punk". Same with emo fringe.
