A little positivity here: we all love our Forge World models and even if a few last stubborn people still inappropriately hate them, let show them love !
So what are your favorite model(s) from FW and why ? Personally, the whole IG range was the one I could spend hours looking at when I was a kid. Now I'm a grown up with money, at least half of it disappeared...
I do own a Stygies Vanquisher turret and a destroyer tank hunter, gifter by my brother ! I used the tank hunter only once for now but he did great despite having such a bad weapon !

Spoiler:

The zone mortalis board that I wanted to get for Xmas is now gone too, but I have always wanted it to play small games differently.
Shame !

The Tau flyers (orca, Manta,...) are always welcome in games or Battle Reports ! Maybe I played too much Fire Warrior as a kid ?
The Marines range doesn't interest me that much, except the gorgeous praetors, though.

What I love is when FW brings some life to the universe, by showing different stuff no covered by GW. So many opportunities ! I do own some Cyclops and son some Tarantulas: among the most interesting model I have ever seen, curiously.

What about you ?

Ugh, there are too many good ones...

Let's say my current favorite is the Porphyrion.

The whole Mechanicum line is also just crazy good though.

And I love Mk II/Mk III power armor.

Saggitarii. Gun-swords and gun-spears are all well and good, but put those aside for the moment and let's see what a Custodian with a rifle looks like!

Honorable mention to Palatine Blades, Wasps, and the sadly discontinued Vampire.

Yes, the gargantuan squiggoth is indeed awesome.
And they've made all manner of other cool pieces

My favorite FW piece though is The Ruined Watchtower of Amon Sul at Weathertop.
https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-GB/The-Ruined-Watchtower-of-Amon-Sul-at-Weathertop

It looks great in my display cabinet & no matter what scale or genre of minis game we're playing works as terrain/scenery.

Runner up is the Imperial Navy Thunderbolt Fighter.

I just love its brute force look.

I really like the eldar aesthetic they created for superheavies.

The scorpion, Cobra and vampire just look awesome. sleek and fast.

I love the look of the eldar titans as well, but there's something about those knife-blades with guns that I just love.

Too bad eldar FW sucks in the rules department.

Amazing too since the FW eldar vehicles are all like decades old.

Also the scorpion superheavy tank is legit good. I've been running mine a lot lately and it's an absolute beast. It completely stomps knights, leviathan dreads, disco lords, orion dropships, castellans, whatever you want, you name it, it will murder it in one shot. Flat 6 damage on 6s is... well its insane LOL. Especially when you shoot 4D6 guided shots on a doomed target. Competitive eldar players have been sleeping on this unit IMHO. It won't win a major event but damn if it isn't a strong gatekeeper in a meta so infested with knights and armor.

It's a tough call, personally I'd say the Mega Dread or DKOK Grenadiers. The Mega Dread just has that heft and bulk that befits that of an ork monstrosity that IMO has a much more natural progression from that of the Deff Dread and Killa Kan compared to Gork/Morkanauts. DKOK Grenadiers are a timeless model that is one of the best IG model sculpts, up there with Kasrkin and Scions.

Every time I hit the FW website, I go and drool a little over the Eldar superheavy tanks. I deeply covet them, but can’t even vaguely justify them. And I’m pretty good a deluding myself, and have had opportunities where I could have potentially done it. But I couldn’t follow through and pick one up. Superheavy units for a secondary army would just collect dust, regardless of how sexy they are.

I'd just like to reiterate, the eldar scorpion superheavy grav tank is really, really powerful when properly supported and will not collect dust if you decide to buy one. Everyone's spamming knights these days and scorpions just poop on knights for days.

The first two games I ran a scorpion, it killed a gallant, a crusader, a castellan, and an orion dropship all without breaking a sweat. It also took almost no damage thanks to Alaitoc for the -1 to hit, prepared positions for the 2+ save and fortune for the 5+++. If you successfully cast fortune you are literally looking at T8 plaguebearers with a 2+ or 3+ base save.

I've got to agree on the Eldar stuff. I mean, I'm mainly an Eldar collector so I'm definitely biased, but I love the Scorpion, the Shadow Spectres and the Avatar with sword - my Avatar is one of my favourite models in my collection -
Spoiler:

Outside of the Eldar, I've generally been fond of a lot of the Imperial superheavies. Especially the Titans - which I think is partly due to the size and spectacle of the models themselves, and also their iconic status within the franchise. I love the over-the-top level of 40k collecting decadence that they represent. Their slightly smaller knightly cousins are good too - I particularly like the Cerasus Castigator and the Porphyrion. For non-walkers, the various versions of the Macharius are cool, and I love the Malcador Infernus. It just seems so amusingly riduculous to see that thing towing around a giant fuel tank for its oversized flamer.

Non-vehicles, I like Vulkan and Perturabo out of the primarchs.

Fairly sure prepaired possitions doesn't actually affect TITANIC units so no 2+ saves.

You're right. Oops! Oh well, fortune/Alaitoc/lightning fast reactions are the things that really count for keeping a scorpion alive. Successful fortune still gives you 26 wounds of -2 to hit T8 plaguebearers with a 3+ save. It is tanky as hell.

I miss the Death Korps Quartermaster. That was a cool model, since he came also with a fun retinue and a "patient".

Still, we have the Grenadiers with the Heavy Flamer, so it makes up for it.

Grr, browser ate my post. Let’s try again.

Most of my games are vs. my son, who is still new and plays Salamanders. So I’m not exactly facing a lot of big nasties. And if I’m heading down to the FLGS, I’m more likely to bring my Ultras.

If I was going to succumb to the allure of FW, it would have been after my divorce, where I had half a house worth of equity in the bank and was engaged in a little retail therapy. These days I’ve still got the nest egg, but would rather not dig into it, so I try to keep my hobby budget on a leash. Money to enjoyment, I’d rather have more squads to build and paint, rather than one big centerpiece. I spend more time at the workbench than the battlefield these days. And there are a lot of cool things in the pipeline to eat up my hobby budget. Not just for my primary Ultras, but some new banshees for the Eldar as well.

If I get another windfall of cash, I might pull the trigger on FW. But there are just so many more options that are a lot more generally useful.

I’m just too practical and responsible.

Must be why I play Ultramarines.

I mean plaguebearer. Plaguebearers are mathematically the most durable units in the game for their cost.
