The shoulder mounted gun is the most interesting part of the model imo
Think we'll see more aggressors with different mounted weapons, remember that hellfury's are still a thing we don't know about

That IF guy makes me yearn for modre Gravis marines. The armour design is cool, but it actually looks better when both hands are not giant fists like on Aggressors. It is such a shame that the stock Gravis Captain has zero options. I was already planning convert one out of Calgar, but now I want to convert one out of Garandon too... But is silly to have two models for same character with exact same gear.

That said I agree it needs a helmet but that's because I refuse to model helmet-less Marines. Calgar for example looked silly until we saw a helmet for him.

It's entirely possible the models may come with helmets, but failing that the upgrade sprues have at least one helmet.

It's why I just make all my HQs myself. I bought quite a few of the Legion Upgrade helmets from FW, so I'm not lacking in variety. I know at least for the Shrike stand-in, I just need to add a Pistol to the base I don't forget he has a range option now. It isn't anything great (just winged Jump Pack and a Scythe + the Iron Warriors upgrade helmet Skull looking one), but he's fun to look at.

I feel like it would be better if they dropped the Fierros Signum Array(leaving it to left arm and google-glass monocle), instead moving the gravgun to the center like the fragstorm launchers on aggressors.
Alternatively the gravgun on the left arm and signum array centrally mounted.
There may be a small mounting bracket on the far left that the gun is resting on; it just isn't well picked out.

No, you don't need a suit to make you the same size as the thing you are fighting.
The entire point of GK was an order of knights standing against vast cosmic horrors and fighting them on foot, hand to hand.
The DK pisses on that rich seam of 'landsknecht V dragon/David V Goliath' imagery from 12 feet off the ground.

The assymetry makes him look more like a Terminator, which is a suit of armour, not an Imperial battlesuit. If you moved the grav gun down into his hand, he'd look like a soldier and not a pilot. So far we've seen a gravis techmarine/ironfather with an oddly mounted heavybolter- assymetrically backpack mounted like this guy's grav. I'd wager that down the line we will see expanded options for Primaris characters, with hardpoints and such for the Gravis suits.

I would want any Primaris Terminator replacement to be a version of this guy's Gravis armour in looks, a power fist, a Cawl pattern storm bolter, and any of a selection of back mounted weapons customizable for every member in the squad. Plus a helm that directly evokes Indomitus Terminators.
And just flipping call them Terminators. Primaris Terminators if one must.

not too dereail the convo too much but Gandolf vs the Balrog wasn't exactly a situation of a mere mortal david vs a powerful goliath. they where both of the Order of Maia.

Regardless of both Gandalf and the Balrog being Maiar, the imagery invoked is blatantly David vs. Goliath, just like Sam vs. Shelob or Eowyn (and Merry) vs. the Witch-King. True, the power difference between Gandalf and the Balrog wasn't anywhere near what it looked like, but when we're discussing imagery looks are everything.

Yeah, I kind of like it, and I can totally see the Fists having a steelworker tough jock look.
Not as much as I like Shrike's head, but the Imperial Fists don't have a stereotype and theme that features a funny haircut as it's most prominent expression, so it doesn't scream "IMPERIAL FISTS" the way Shrike's emo haircut says "RAVEN GUARD!"
As for favorite over-the-top weapons on a model, probably the multiple missile launcher on the Exorcist. It's a pipe organ that shoots missiles, and is a hilarious reference to the nicknames of old rocket launchers and their reputation for making noise.
For recent models, it's absolutely the Eliminators' Bolt Sniper Rifle.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades! |

No. My flag clearly shows that I could not live in Chernobyl, that city is in Ukrain.
As wester people looking like that, I saw avatar movie no so long ago, there was a officer there with a face like that. Arnold has a face like that too. Ton of people with faces like that. Dolph Lundgren is another western guy.
I would have preferred this model
I would unironicaly do too. non symetric stuff boders me like almost no thing in the world most of the time. I think they didn't go the two fists two guns root, because it would make him too much like calgar, and that would bring the risk people wouldn't buy the new model.

Not a fan of the grav gun/wrist display combo.
First, I think it's weird that all these guns just mount on a regular backpack. I liked the specialized backpacks for Devastators, but these seem like you just bolt a pintle mount on the backpack and go.
Second, how the hell does he interface with the display on his left forearm? It has buttons on the face AND the lid. Does he poke the buttons with his power fist fingers?
Finally, he has no weapon in that hand. Couldn't he just carry the damn grav gun in that hand? Primaris can one-hand all these huge guns, so why not just carry that one? What the hell is he doing with his left hand? Picking his nose?

Karol's right that the face is hardly super odd looking, the mini is clearly somewhat stylized (as all 40k minis are) but it's clear that the character simply has a square jaw. IIRC a square jaw is associated BTW with testestrone and maniliness.
