Next batch; pleased to be knocking these out pretty quick. Can't claim they are the fanciest paintjobs, but they get the job done.

18 done....

Working on a couple of heroes to lead the shambling hordes.

First up a necromancer, provisional named Lady Skeletor.

Second one is going to need a much bigger base, but its coming along OK.

London

A great bunch of zonbies, and you certainly are racing through them!

Thanks for sharing

Thanks! I'm on downtime at the moment, so I'm trying to plough through some of the undead hordes.

I've been tweaking my Belladamma Volga counts-as. I think its about the right size.

Pretty pleased with it, though I'm worried about the bats snapping off...

Thanks! One of my goals for this army is to spend a little more time on the bases.

Got some great birthday swag from my wife and son. Apart from a new inspiring banner for my home gym we also have a suitable mount for my soon to be General...

But first there are zombies to finish....

Wow!

One word comments are really lame, so here's some more praise... the snow bases look very cool!

Thank you. I'm getting the hang of the snow, though I keep adding more and I wonder if the bases will end up completely submerged at some point.

Another batch:

Also started work on the big fellow...

Hopefully magnets will be involved.

Oooh, these are some super interesting conversions, the necromancer looks amazing! Also interesting to see how the rather funny new zombie sculpts (which I really don't mind, it's part of their charm) turn proper grimdark once sufficiently soaked in blood!

Doing the vampire and the zombie dragon separately on the base is very clever actually! If you magnetize them and have separate bases as well, you could run them together, just one, or both as separate units. Plus that set-up is a gorgeous little diorama.

MobileSuitRandom Thanks! The blood covers a multitude of painting sins.

Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll Funny you should mention magnets . . .

Vampires gotta have rats. (Seriously, IMO the scene between Renfield and the swarm of rats is one of the most chilling bits in Dracula).
Still needs some work, but you can see the idea.

Eventual Flesh eater version. Figures I should do it now or it would annoy me later. I need to add more to the shield base to make it a similar size to the vamps.

This one needs the most work. Its a wee slanted at the moment.

Still working on the last few zombies.

Also started on this guy (excuse the glare; taken mid-paint)

Pleased with his teeth. Still figuring out how to paint purple; figure his tunic/robe is a good practice before I start on the Necromancer.

Thanks! I’m not quite sure how I’m going to paint her. I feel like it has to be the classic blue skin, purple hood, yellow skull… but I’m not sure how that would look with the rest of the ‘realistic/grimdark’ army….

Last of the zombies (for now....). This takes me up to 40, so two 'small' units or one stumbling horde.
I'd like to say I'm going to back through them and just neaten some stuff up... but it ain't gonna happen...

Need to finish the gravekeeper, then I'm not sure whats' next.
Skeletons? Dire Wolves?
(Not sure what colour to do the wolves)

Calling this guy done.

Bit of practice painting purple. Red would probably be better thematically, but Lady Skeletor has to be purple.

I think this technically counts as a legal army now.

Pretty pleased with how he came out. Has a slight undead Conan vibe. His bodyguards are up next.

Thanks Guardling!

The zombies did almost break me, but the nice thing about undead is the variety.

Currently working on my doggies.

Wolves are SO much quicker to paint than zombies.
I was torn on the colour. Classic black 'evil' wolves, or realistic 'rotten' wolves. Decided to make the arctic wolves (as the bases are snowy) with a variety of shades. They came out a little more uniform than I planned, but I'm still pleased. I did a couple of head swaps just to add a little variety. Knocked them out in a week too. Win!

Thanks Gwyn chan 'r Gwyll; they are really great models. Almost wishing I went full wolves now.

My mother-in-law is staying which is limiting my panting time, but I've been working on the zombie ogres.
(WIP: sorry for the blur/glare)

I hope a unit option for these turns up at some point, I've always wanted a few non-human zombie options.

Moar WIP

Love this guy. The only thing I like more than vampires is Werewolves, so what could beat a hideous deformed hybrid?

Does make me wonder what will happen to the Varghulf when FEC get redone. Duel kit? Same model across both lines? Because this guy seems perfect IMO.

Pretty pleased with these guys. They could do with being a little more grimy, but I like how the faces came out.

Also really happy with this chap. Such a characterful model.

Thanks CB.

Been a little slow last couple of weeks (other stuff has been intruding on my painting time).

Started these guys as I figured they would be quicker than 20 skeletons.

(Plus I should really build the other 10 skeletons...)

I was sorting out my display cupboard and stumbled across this chap.

I got him from a Hersey Miniatures Kickstarter. I had planned to use him as Be'lakor (way before he got a new model; this is going back to 7th edition). However I never liked the base and felt the paint job lacked something.

I'm not sure I'll get my Daemon army organised any time soon, so I wondering if I should add him to the vampires? Possibly could be a counts as Nagash, assuming he's some ancient vampire who has ascended to near demi-god status? Would need to sort his base out and neaten a few bits. I think the snow might work well with the dark colour scheme.

Still not sure, but I do love the model and would live to find a place for it somewhere.
