Thanks for the heads-up! Money well spent even if I only read a fraction of the content.

Just yesterday I saw someone online trying to sell second-hand physical copies of some of the Rogue Trader books for 700 euro. This is definitely the better deal!

Seems like a lot on content for only 15 quid! Has anyone played the Rogue Trader RPG that can comment on whether it was any good?

It's a perfect sandbox game where the PC's have access to a warp capable void ship. The books come with enough campaign material to keep your group occupied for quite some time, while also providing you with the tools necessary to create your own star systems, dynasties, ships and whatnot to play around with.

edit.

Or better yet.. playing as an away team a-la Star Trek, but with bolters, carapace armour and armsmen instead of phasers, spandex and ensign Ricky.

You can play as an Ork Freebooter. Who needs anything else?

Oh, and a 20% Cubicle 7 discount coupon!

It has the most disparate character make up of the FFG range so you need a DM that can get everyone involved in their own way. Best for a scheming and socialising style of play in of itself but it can also be used as an add-on to the normal Dark Heresy game for higher power play (including ascension).

The best is clearly The Lathe Worlds.

Really this bundle should have included The Lathe Worlds.

When they do Deathwatch, Black Crusade and Only War they should also include The Lathe Worlds.

Forgive my ignorance, but who is Cubical 7 and is this the same as the Fantasy Flights version?

They are the people who hold the license currently, and yes, these are the books that FFG wrote.

Thanks. Currently playing in a campaign where we have a few copies of the old book we share (and I do not own), wanted to make sure this was the same. The way companies and editions change, just because the cover is the same doesn’t mean the rules will match. And a different company’s logo in the corner is a bit of a red flag.

Even if they weren’t the right rules, I’d probably get my $25 bucks of enjoyment just reading them. Hard to pass up a bundle like this, so I snagged a copy.

Lathe World definitely had the best credits page of all 5 games.

Does rouge trader use miniatures or is it just pen and paper?

It is a pen and paper game, but like most pen and paper games you can use mini's if you want to help visualize combat

Lots of great stuff, it was my favorite of the 40k RPGs. That may just be my love of ships talking, though. I remember the ships better than the characters that lived in them.

It's a pen and paper rpg. You can use miniatures, but they aren't required (though I always prefer them for combat just to make everything clear to everyone involved).

Just a heads up, the .pdf files are very busy, as in art and text assets load separately to the page rather than each page being its own, single image. This makes the core rulebook load slowly even on PC, never mind a tablet or phone.

I've run into similar issues with Paizo products and they at least have the option to split larger books into chapters. I'm sure there's a way to downscale the file to one image per page, but if that sort of thing would drive you nuts, caveat emptor. Minor quibble on a very good deal.

I haven't tried it on a file like this, but I've found a solution to this problem with other documents. If you have the ability to print to PDF, you can try printing the file to a new PDF, which should compress everything to a single layer of images. Not sure if it will work, but it's worth a try.

This is an awesome deal for a lot of great books, and I grabbed the Dark Heresy bundle earlier in the year. I hope they complete the set with Black Crusade and the others, so I can have the full line.
